  1. I think Jeremy/Tony was just attracted to white women and embarrased by that. The whole song-and-dance--that black women don't like sarcasm, golf, and science fiction--was smoke and mirrors. There are entire Meetups and Facebook groups devoted to black geekery and "blerdom". Two black women won Hugo Awards (for science fiction literature) last year. He just wasn't looking hard enough. Some black folks don't approve of interracial relationships. That's true. I just wish he said that rather than stereotype black women.
  2. Whenever I do online dating, I always practice due diligence, and heed red flags. If someone sends a picture that looks like a model shoot, RED FLAG. (One person sent me a picture that was clearly a shot of a B/C-list celebrity). So many of the victims, like the girl above, don't even do the bare minimum (Lanum: "You're beautiful!"; Ari: *Smiley emoticon* Sends a nude pic). I think that internet scam spotting should be a mandatory course for people in junior high on up.
  3. One thing that bothers me about the show: why do all of the catfishers dress in the most unflattering way possible? Both "Blue" (Keerah), "Rosa" (Jose) looked like they just woke up and stuffed themselves in the crummiest clothes possible. Does the production company tell them to do that? If I were going to be on TV, I'd be in my Sunday Best. Or at least, business casual. I get they want to ramp up the drama, but it seems exploitative to me in a "look at these losers" way. I think the horror music theme they play during the reveal is more than enough!
