  1. Megan said it was Portland hospital’s fault that they couldn’t do a photo call when Archie was born, but Fergie had her girls there and she managed it. Plus they didn’t even announce she was in labor until she’d given birth and was home. When did they agree to the Windsor photo call with Liz and Philip? I thought it was a last minute arrangement to shut people up, and they chose an American (Gayle King) to stick it to the British media? Meghan said it was the plan to hold an extended shoot at The Castle.

They didn’t show or address any of the specific rumors about the negative coverage like the turn over in staff or the rumors of her bullying. They also didn’t mention usurping attention from Eugenie’s wedding.

More of the “Meghan is Diana 2.0” schtick.

  2. Not invite her niece? That would have been a whopping 3 people from her family out of 2500 guests regardless of why she wasn’t invited. The principal and “childhood friend” didn’t make the cut? That would have been 5:2500. It was more important high visibility strangers were there. It’s obvious what was important to them.

They thought their engagement was a reality show? Everyone gets asked the same questions whether it’s from the media, their friends, or colleagues. You are less than the event no matter who you are. They didn’t talk about the $70,000 gown, I noticed.

I saw a lot of whining. There was obviously some racism from the media and the public, but people in general seemed to support them and be delighted with her. I guess I’m a subconscious racist according to them.

  3. Bob wants this to be a separate company from MaxDot — he’ll have to have other clients, too. Does he think he can beat the price and quality of the imports with enough margin the make the American socks viable? People will pay more for “Made in America” but how much?

The writers are telegraphing a cash crunch with Abishola on strike and Dottie investing her money. Hijinks ensue.

  4. Watched 2 episodes, and I liked both couples! Shocker.

The first were from Florida buying a vacation home in the mountains. All those stairs to the river? Those will get old quick and be a downside if they try to sell let alone rent it. And that 2nd house sleeps 20? In 4 bedrooms. Like you want bodies everywhere and bunk beds shoved in every corner of the common areas and your renters paying $15 per person per night.

Second couple from West Virginia were young even for being young. I hope the high school rivalry was played up for the “drama.” He had a plum job working for the state treasurer and she was a teacher, so I presume they’re college educated: Get past high school. The painted paneling? Shudder. His repeated fantasies of The Guys coming over to hang out or watch the big game, though…she didn’t seem so warm to the idea.

  5. I felt no one deserved star baker for another week. Janusz, especially, and Sybira peaked Week 1. Sandro W2. For any of them to have a weakness in something like laminated breads (let alone custards??) should be enough to get then DQ’d from the show let alone let them scoot through to the quarters. And their cameras didn’t show what happened to the 8th roll or did it fall on the floor the editors decided to make fun of it after last season’s scandal?

  6. When the hooded figure rose from the stairs she’d just run down, I completely lost it. I was laughing so hard I thought I’d wet myself. Seven episodes and with 10 minutes left in the series they introduced a supernatural element. As if people needed another option as to whom (or what!) was behind the letters.

As much fun as I had watching it, this show was a hot mess.

  7. Jennifer Coolidge stole the show, I thought, especially her last scene. Lol. That was great.

I’d had enough of the “gotcha! You’re the watcher!!” confrontations by the middle episodes. I realize it was meant to reinforce their slide into paranoia, but it was too much. We get it. You feel you can’t trust anyone.

My absolute favorite part of the series was them using “Hopelessly Devoted to You.” Add in some ominous undertones and it’s quite creepy.

I guess Flower was high when she died, as Sam was high after Flower "hugged" her.

Yep! Last season Flower described how she died. She said she’d wandered over from a music festival and was killed when she tried to hug the bear. “Drugs were involved,” is how she worded it I believe.

  9. I said last week the bakes would get more competitive after Carole left, but we’re not there yet. I think if Carole’s strawberries in the showstopper had been good that Dawn would’ve gone home. She and Abdul are next. (They haven’t spent much time with Abdul it seems.)

I moved Sandro into my 3rd finalist position due to Syabira’s week. Watermelon wasn’t smart. The artificial tastes artificial, and the flavor from the real juice usually isn’t strong enough.

I think that’s what he thought he should’ve done, in hindsight.

I just watched the scene, and he said she was the love of his life and he thought she felt the same. He killed the deer, gave it to her family, and he never heard from her again. Then Sam told Jay that Shiki ghosted Sass, and the ghosts were offended by the phrase. Pete asked if the point was “ghosts have no manners?” Sass didn’t specifically say he told Shiki how he felt, but I think the gift made it clear. Then Jay started composing texts for Sass: ‘sup.

Due to my and others' postings about this episode, I realized that my avatar has been wearing a sombrero for many years. Even though I grew up on the SW border, I'm just as guilty as Noel and Matt of cultural appropriation and have changed my avatar to a more appropriate look. I apologize to all for my thoughtlessness. 😔

My 2¢: You can celebrate a culture without accusing yourself of appropriating it. Noel and Matt weren’t being respectful, but then how often are the openings?

    They buy #2.

Thanks! My modem rebooted the second before they announced their choice. Glad they went with the second one. The living space on the multiple levels, outdoor space…plenty of areas to spread out and not be on top of each other.

A shame Clara might be too old to show up as an elderly woman unless she's sill kicking it at over 100 years old.

Could be like Sam’s Mom: Find out where she died and go see if she’s a ghost. (I’m completely unspoiled and don’t go into the speculation/spoiler thread or read any media. This is a pure guess.)

  14. It was past time for Rebs.Watching her struggle wasn’t enjoyable. So Carole will go next week now.

I feel like the other bakers have all had their moments when they stepped up and showed some talent. It should get more competitive. (Though barring disaster the semi-finalists have separated themselves.)

Thinking about the theme, I feel it leveled the playing field. (Except the tacos. Wth?)  Everyone struggled, but they had to use their experience with the ingredients and flavors more than usual. No one was saying, “I made these with my Nan every Sunday growing up.”

  15. Wow. There were wayyyyyy too many commercials. I swear there were 8 in the one block about 3/4 of the way through. CBS must be desperate since it’s their biggest comedy.

The episode? Identifying the suspect was the highlight. Otherwise pretty meh for me.

I disagree I love Flower especially since we are learning more about her. Pete is the weakest character for me, He's a nice guy and that's all we know about him

Did you not see Pete’s episode last season? I highly recommend it!

That sent me to Google for sure:  "Apple Bottoms is a brand of jeans founded by hip-hop star Nelly in 2002. Apple Bottom jeans, as the name suggests, are generally designed for women with full hips."

I had no idea! (And I didn’t cap the A on “Apple” in my post. It autocorrected on my iPad, and I was too lazy to tap back and “correct” it.) Thank you for the details!

In fairness to Kevin, and because it was choppily edited, I’m pretty sure 25g of butter went into the preparation of the dough mixture and he thought it would proof quicker if the butter was melted and warm.

Gotcha! I did think it was curious that someone wouldn’t have this basic skill. He backtracked off it so quickly when reading the rest of the instructions I went with it, though.
