And what do all of the season finales, from season five onward have in common? If your guess is that they were ALL written by Erica Messer, treat yourself to wine and cookies. I sense a pattern in the increased mediocrity of the season finale. Here is hoping they redeem themselves with season nine.

No what you posted is the cake from last year. They did in fact celebrate his birthday on set this year, though none of the official accounts wished him happy birthday this yeae. Hell Harry never even mentioned it until a Matthew fan asked him if they celebrated his birthday.

Damn that is a tiny cake compared to last year and Shemar this year. Shemar got showered in public birthday love compared to Matthew this year. It is kind of odd.

Hmmmmm.... I don't recall any birthday celebration for Matthew on set this year. Last year they surprised him with a cake, but if they did this year, no one mentioned it. *side eyes*

Yeah, there were a variety of fan pictures taken the nights of April 10th and 11th that show what we are talking about. They were all over Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. Most were just normal, but there were enough to get an understanding of that part of the story.

Rumor has it Reid gets shot in the neck.
Yeah, that's already out there. Not so much from anything the show itself has said, but the abundance of fan pictures when they were shooting.
I think Reid gets shot at the end of episode 23. So far, Matthew has been barely on set for episode 24. He shot for a short time Friday, 11 April, but I don't think he shot last week, or one day at the most. It is Monday and he is not at work, so there are only two more days left shooting this finale. I fear the finale will be extremely Reid lite.

I try and say "zugzwang" the correct German way, though I struggle getting the proper guttural sound. The fact that the writers mispronounced "zugzwang" is no surprise, nor the first time they did that, particularly with a word Reid had to pronounce. In season six "Devil's Night" Reid pronounced "Samhain" wrong, and you would think the writers would verify the pronounciation of words, particularly when they are spoken by the genius character who would definitely know better.

Though truthfully, once I got past Doubt, they all pretty much clumped together. Except for The Inspiration. Sure it is better than The Inspired (a horrible episode), but it wasn't that great, and easily the worst season premiere I've seen from Criminal MInds.

I don't recognize it, but I have watched Penelope enough times to know it is not from that episode. At no time in that episode, did Reid and Morgan conduct a raid on a dwelling.
