  1. My sister (who was close to 800 pounds when she passed away) fit in the furnace when she was cremated. They slid her and her coffin right into it. Incinerator belt? You've been playing too much WOW.
  2. Last July my cellulitis came back for the third time. For the first 3 weeks I was in the hospital having IV antibiotics 4 times a day and then when I got discharged they gave me 2 prescriptions for 2 very very strong antibiotics in pill form that I had to take 4 times a day. for 10 days. Those did quite the number on my stomach and generally made me feel blech but they did work to clear what was left of the infection.
  3. My ex-husband pointed a shotgun at me once. Not a fun feeling. He also gave me black eyes another time. The best thing I ever did in my life was divorcing that guy. Not all of us super morbidly obese people are assholes. :-)
  4. Sorry to burst your bubble but that would never happen plus something like that **is** against any laws regarding deceased people no matter what their size.
  5. My older sister was well over 700 pounds and possibly closer to 800 pounds when she passed away and we had a coffin for her and she was cremated. Then she was buried into a regular sized plot for urns into the ground. Her remains fit into a regular sized urn. When she was cremated it was thought that they might have to take her to a place where they cremate horses and large farm and zoo animals but she plus her coffin (which was a larger sized coffin already in stock...they do make them nowadays because of the obesity epedemic) fit into the oven. Because people are dying larger these days the funeral homes and the people who remove the bodies are prepared for it.
  6. We don't know that with 100% certainty plus I was just basing my theory on the catheter I'm most familiar with from my own care when I was in the hospital. I'm female and single so I had no idea that condom type catheters even existed until I saw them written about on this thread. When I was typing out my theory I wasn't even thinking about them at the time. They are not a subject that sticks particularly well in my mind. :-)
  7. Sorry. I just happen to be one of those people that 'goes there'. I've read too many medical books/journals I think and just don't give a heck anymore. LOL
  8. Wrong!! I still got periods at my heaviest weight of 520 pounds however once my weight loss started it turned into non-stop bleeding and I had to take 40 mg of provera daily just to stop the bleeding. After some time on that my gynocologist was worried that high a dose might give me cancer so she suggested getting a mirena IUD put in. I had that done last July and no bleeding since. I can have a hysterectomy once I get to 300 pounds. I'm currently 462 but my weight loss is slow due to PCOS. Also re: James and sex and a catheter. I cannot fathom how he could get any type of sexual relief with a catheter in. I would imagine getting an erection alone with a catheter in would hurt (OW MA PENIS!!) plus the ejaculate could never get out since the catheter goes all the way into the bladder. I don't think it would ooze around it if he could orgasm.
  9. They had to do that to my older sister who was in hospital and over 700 pounds. She was actually gaining weight in the hospital because her enabler boyfriend was sneaking food in there to her when everyone else wasn't looking. He also had her convinced that the staff in there was out to get her.
  10. No. I've had it 3 times and that was the first thing I asked a doctor when I got it the first time.
  11. He would have to go into a hospital or a long care facility for care. Since he cannot even stand up with a walker to go to the toilet he would pretty much be f***ed.
  12. You could call it "Ow, ma leg!" but don't let Beatty and Runaway read the Best Picture card at the ceremonies. They might call out "I can reach ma v agina!" instead.
  13. I should do this whenever I stand up. I have arthritic knees too. I can practise my Kentuckian accent (not difficult for a Canadian).
  14. I'm 462 lbs myself (down from 520 lbs) and if I ever need the EMTs (in case of a medical emergency) I always tell the person on the phone my weight so they can send the amount of people I need to transport me. I never (never!!) act like James though. I am always polite and kind to the EMT's. They have a hard enough job lifting me to get me into the ambulance so there is no reason to be a crap patient with a bad attitude on top of everything else. Luckily I am somewhat mobile with a walker so if I can stand up and walk to the stretcher to get into it I will. P.S. I don't recall who said it here but that "whale' comment was uncalled for. There are larger people (like me) reading this forum because we do like watching 600 LB Life.
  15. I can tell you why mine do that. First off at my last weigh in I was 462 pounds. That is down from 520 lbs. I carry most of my weight in my legs and especially in my thighs. I also have a very large lymphedema on each leg right at the inner part of each knee. Those alone make it very difficult to put my legs together. I can if I need too but there is still quite a bit of space there due to the fat. I have a photo if anyone wants to see.
  16. So did I. I guess when you're lying in bed 24/7 you can't be choosy.
  17. I had a high fever for a week before my cellulitis emerged for the second time (It was on my left leg from just above the knee down to the bottom of my foot. I have photos) but on the day it appeared the fever was gone. I simply sat up on the side of my bed, attempted to stand up to go to the washroom and my left foot started to slide on the floor. I sat and looked down at my leg and that is when I noticed all the huge fluid filled blisters all over my leg and foot. My first thought was "I had better get my butt to the hospital" and I went. I have no idea why he hasn't gone for medical treatment for it but when I was at the hospital there was a guy in there who had it and he didn't seem to be getting any better or worse the whole 6 months I was in there.
  18. It wasn't the most fun time in my life but there were some good moments in there and I did meet a lot of super nice people who work in the health care field. I also realized that things would have to change in my life if I did not want to end up in a grave that I was literally digging for myself one forkful at a time....and they have. :) My cellulitis may or may not come back again. I really hope it doesn't but I now know what it looks like when it starts so I can get medical care quickly.
  19. When my cellulitis was really bad I never noticed any smell coming from it. I even asked the nurses (who had to hold up that one leg when I was being washed) if it smelled and they all told me it didn't. Of course I was on antibacterial meds given intravenously 4 times a day so maybe that was why mine never smelled. Mine never smelled.
  20. You have to have intravenous antibacterial meds to get rid of the cellulitis or very, very strong antibacterial meds in pill form. I've been there and done both. It is. I've had it 3 times in the last 7 years. The worst time put me in the hospital for 6 months.
