You know - his death may indicate he really was in pain. He may have been suffering symptoms of congestive heart failure. Accounts for his listlessness. And he was making progress... Too late. Sad.

Did he? Must have missed that! He is s baby-man but, truly, all these patients on this show are cases of arrested development because they've been in bed for 20 years - doing nothing with their lives. We build maturity by testing ourselves in the larger world.

Good point. But at least he wasn't getting food snuck in to sabotage his restricted hospital diet.

I really hope not because he seems to be doing okay. He may actually be a "success story" - relatively speaking.

I don't mean to oversimplify the problems of these enormous patients - but none of them seem to have any routines or discipline to their days. They truly "live to eat." Robert mentioned that the hospital food was "regimented" - as though the concept of limits was novel to him.
