Cody: -It's harrrrd. .It's sooooo haaaarrdd. .. 6 weeks and he couldn't google synonyms for 'haaarddd just once? Nate:..Would hate to see Nate give his life to the harridan, Sheila. It sounds like Sheila STILL doesn't have a clue what a bitch she is and/or what a terror she is. If I had to live with her I would just keel over. -

The Chicago Tribune says "Round Lake facilities director Sheila Downs and former rental car company manager Nate Duhon mended their relationship after hurling nasty insults at each other during a fight about phone manners." 'Former rental car company manager'. Why do I sense another fight in the very near future between these two? -
Please don't start with the black vs white routine. This is a forum, a place where people can express their opinions without fear of overture. It's perfectly just for the poster to do so. She has made her point -the same point one can find all over the net. Most people (of any persuasion) feel like Sheila has a few loose nuts, she's damaging and disparaging of Nate. If you are so offended by a panelist's opinion, one that is shared by most people you, have your work cut out for you. Go to Lifetime and complain on their forum and take notice where it gets you. "I just get sick of black women being demonized. " Sheila is creating her own video, no one here is telling her how to act or what to say. We are commenting on what we see. This is not the place to strong-arm other posters because he or she doesn't see it the you want them to.

Didn't they have a moment when Nate kept apologizing over and over and Sheila didn't accept his apology each and/or any time. She became angrier every time he apologized! His look was incredulous. I am not a Nate lover but I am a human being who doesn't like seeing any living thing being abused. This was a difficult episode all the way around.

Do you think that all these after-shows are all done at once? (I didn't notice contestants clothes- except that Danielle was the spitting image of Morticia with her black over-the-shoulder dress, and bangs that were too long.) I think she flew into town with a limited wardrobe.
-
Fights are a way of life with her. She uses them as 'protection' for herself. I think she starts them to be first at 'the game' - I'll attack him first before he attacks me. She must have had a terrible childhood. She twists Nate into a writhing mass of clay, goes for his jugular and waits to strike again later. Nate doesn't have a chance. She has been treating men like this for at least 10 years, and cannot see the wrong in all of it. Last night she attacked Nate for calling her a 'bitch'. Nate reminded her that that was what she called him, she was reliving a prior argument with a long lost person. Creepy. Nate is the kind of person who so wants the marriage to stand that he will allow himself to take continual abuse. She's just warming up, and in time it will break his spirit. Normal people don't do that to their lovers, and it appears this is the way she rolls. She will do to him what my kitty does to his catnip mouse, he exists solely as a target to revile, She constantly talks about Nate in a very negative manner, telling the world how he is lower than spit. In a healthy relationship, you just don't put a friend, esp. your mate on a skewer and dissect him like a frog. I would say 'Run Nate, run', because she will keep up the charade and go back with him over and over again, only to rinse and repeat. You asked! Sorry- I didn't read your request for a guy to respond until last night.

Sheila and Nate have (another) blow-up fight, where his apology for what he said earlier isn’t quite enough for his wife. (He was supposed to prostrate himself-'and-and he didn't'.) “It was inappropriate, it was disrespectful, it was cruel and callous and I didn’t sign up for that,” Sheila tells her hubby over a game of basketball. “He said a hurtful and damaging thing to his wife,” she adds to the cameras." Run Nate. Sheila why do you spend even a breath putting down your, ahem, 'husband' to the world. Why do you treat Nate like a competitor rather than your friend and husband? Men (even women) will say the darndest things, but for an infraction not involving bodily harm, a "hurtful and damaging thing to his wife', rarely warrants the dissolvement of a marriage or using that marriage as a wedge to get an apology. He was born and raised in Flint Michigan, he's not Clark Gable, he's a 'man' 'from Mars', not fashioned to be anymore than he is, and a diamond in the rough is still worth salvaging. Jmo. You're not the only one with' feelings', Sheila. -
But then again, that older man would have to have nerves of steel - and failing ears- I think a Battle Royale would ensue, as there is no way Sheila would simply abide being told to grow up. The measure of her anger and rage is incalculable. She's been behaving like the Sheila we see on the tube for years, that is her true persona, like it or not. she said so herself. She's practiced and has learned what to do and say that hurts the most. Because she doesn't see 'a husband' - she sees a competitor.

Exactly! Most women would not have anything to do with him after date #1. So that leaves someone out there who is so hard up she doesn't mind bedding down with a bale of straw. The truth is likely closer to his never having had sex. That in itself isn't a bad thing, but pretending otherwise is.

I'll take a guess. I think she hasn't learned to finesse her moves, rather she goes for the 'most unkindest cut of all', so to speak. A quick well-placed stab to the jugular rather than a slow cut that shows the blood but takes longer to kill. I reiterate something I still believe - that she is incapable of love and doesn't intend to live with Nate anyway -either as a girlfriend or wife. It's all a game to her- a game 'she will ultimately win, even if her audience doesn't see it that way'. In her mind she's done with him. She'll stick around for the after treats, but when the light go down and the audience has gone, she'll be outta here. Jmo.

So she's got the vicious part down. Difficult not see it, even for her, since it's all on tape. It's a start, but it appears she wants to wear it like a medal, a badge. 'See, I can win this fight'. But will she ever see herself as the reason for the endless fights , and worse, the destruction of Nate?
-
She is toxic. Nate- please run the other way, and don't blame yourself for this debacle. Blame the producers and especially the psychologists overseeing the choice of partners. They should have been more selective in weeding out the noxious beings from the ones with heart. From the beginning, she said something to the effect- she spent the last 10 years trying to convince men, (and that's all I remember) . She starts her sentences with 'I' and talks about herself'. She sees nothing but herself and her sad little world. Nate is little more than an accessory. She is incapable of true love - and she hasn't a clue. She said herself that she doesn't care what other people think.

EEEwww. Maybe the driving factor for Cody, why he went to the trouble to go on the show in the first place was in fact "getting something sweet" and getting some booty" and anything else gained would simply be icing on the cake. Maybe he's never actually 'done it'. The thing with being so protective with Danielle's feelings is possibly no more than a ruse, an excuse - I mean, I have never seen a man any less 'manly' - except my gay male friend. If I were paired up with a Cody and he didn't come on to me (Like Cody) I would assume he was gay or he just didn't like what he saw. Men are considered the aggressors because they generally are. Even the worst lover can initiate something by grabbing a boob, or a quick kiss on the neck. He just lays there. I assume it was this way almost from the beginning - because Danielle brought his lack of aggressiveness to the fore.

What incredible karma, eh? It would be the perfect match made in hell, but (I truly hope, for Nate's sake) he ends the marriage. Living with her and her tantrum moods and her need to be the man (and the horrible way she demeans him) will eventually make him a withered and ill man. With problems as deep-seated as Sheila's, it would take years of therapy, because this didn't start with Nate, it's been a way of life for her. As negative as she has been with her earlier snits, not once did we hear her apologize to Nate - rather she appeared quite satisfied with herself. Maybe she apologized, but I doubt it. When the couples were given the wedding albums (weren't they great pictures!) the women all opened and held the albums. Sheila was the only one who placed the album in her lap only. The other two 'shared' the album.
