Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
cinles replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
The Browns don't know any other kind of business than a pyramid scheme. I think Sisters Wives Closet may be their only business that doesn't have at its core the business model of preying on people. At least they sell a product. A few of the kids are advertising products on social media to earn money. So, does anyone know or should I assume the show is over? -

When did Joe do that? If you have watched the show from the beginning, you know that was the highest form of a compliment he could give Cameron - calling her his thing. Cameron is the one who ran from Joe and in the finale for the last time. Joe has been in love with Cameron since the middle of season one and she screwed the relationship up starting when she immaturely blamed him when Gordon took out her OS at Comdex. -

ahahaha Not everything has some intertwined meaning. Joe is the one who was the visionary. He is the one who came on the scene and changed everyone's life. He more or less told Cameron he loved her in Landfall in season one. He's been in love with her ever since. She was Joe's thing. -

Watch the scene again with Joe and Cameron where Joe says that. I just watched it again. That was a personal moment between Joe and Cameron. Nobody at the beginning of this show was 'looking for the next big technological thing looming in an unknown future', except Joe. Joe was the one who made the comment about the thing getting to the thing. No one else said that. That was just about his love for Cameron. -
I did wonder about that camping scene.

What Joe meant simply is that Cameron was his muse. When Joe said that comment in S1, it was a call forward that what he wanted, what his idea was is that technology could provide many future possibilities & applications. The reason he picked Cameron out of all the college students at the beginning of S1E1 was that her answer to 'now, tell me one thing that will be true about personal computers 10 years from now?' was 'computers will be connected together across one network'. Computers are the thing that gets us to the thing and Cameron was the thing that kept Joe going. -

This show became one big feminist party after season one. Chris Cantwell has publically said how much his wife influenced his writing and thus the other's writing. This show became about Cameron and particularly Donna after season one. It was no longer about "Joe and his supreme vision". Season one will always be my favorite season. -

Joe had everyone's photo on his desk. Did anyone notice how they slipped an even more woman-centric theme over and beyond what they've been doing since season 2? Gordon is dead. Joe runs away to be an unhappy teacher pining for his old life and Bos is relegated as Diane's husband. Donna gave a rousing speech in front of a bunch of women. Plus I assume Donna and Cameron are going to create a music streaming service? -
The movie is named after a phrase that's been used for hundreds of years.

I happen to be a huge Cher fan and she really didn't have a problem when Chaz came out - she was mad that he hid it from her. So she was semi-prepared when he announced he was transgender. I doubt there's any difference who you are when your child tells you life-changing things. I was going to comment on a few things, but I missed this from a prior poster and it sort of caught my attention. Is this an accepted term now because I find it offensive. Maybe it's my age - is it acceptable?

I think they use Lee Pace's height to their advantage - if they want him to be mean and imposing, they show how tall he is - if they want him to be kind and cuddly, they show him sitting down or they use photo tricks. I don't remember that scene in the show - I was referring to an aerial view. I looked up the stats of some of the actors & there's conflicting info. I question the www on this right now. Because Gordon & Donna are so educated, I doubt their kids really have a choice about education, don't you think? When someone said Susanna Skaggs was 5' 8", I wanted to look up her other stats - not just physical. Look her up on YouTube. She also sings and she looks different. That's why I said, she has a real actor's look about her. I hope her career keeps going up. YES! All these actors are so good, it boggles my mind HACF never caught fire. ;d I love hearing the theories of the titles - this is the first season where the titles are still confusing after the episode airs. What tickled me last night is I looked at the episode again online & then listened to the post-mortem. Chris Rogers talks & Chris Cantwell just sits there. But on Twitter, Chris Rogers hardly ever tweets & Chris Cantwell tweets all the time. They reminded me of Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy.

Then they're doing a good job, making a tall girl look shorter to look younger - not that she needs that to look her age. I think she's 16 plus she's slender. She has an amazing face - she could play 12 or 25.

My question has always been why do they feel it necessary to have a gay person in every season with an inorganic plot? geeesh I know some people have commented on the way they're filming & I noticed that Joe no longer looks like a giant. When they were shooting the rockets they looked the same height and Anna Chlumsky and Haley are short. The other thing is, Donna's house is awesome. I hope that is a real house - It is so cool. People always ask why HACF is never nominated for Emmy's and of course, the answer is no one watches the show, but I think Kerry Bishé's performance this season is Emmy worthy. She won't be nominated, but she should.

Very nice analysis, but the debate over Haley was last week. I think once the girl/waitress and Haley started talking, it was obvious. I was wrong about Haley, which I shouldn't have been, but they really don't have terrible things happen in this show, do they?
