  1. I just don't think the FN knows what to do with the Next Food Network Star winners. They never end up getting their own show, or it doesn't last long and the only thing left is for them to judge various cooking competitions. It should be called the Next Food Network Judge. I'm hoping they don't have another Next Food Network Star because its not needed and a waste of time. Damaris baking expertise is questionable, but she did bake on the show she did have and was creative with her desserts. I guess she is just as qualified as Fuller.
  2. I don't understand why Damaris was saying the puerto rico bread pudding was not bread pudding. It had bread and was pudding, so where was the issue? Because it wasn't chunks of bread and the texture was different? She was making an issue out of nothing. I noticed the other judge had no comment.
  3. From the beginning, I thought Cole, Justice, and Kaniyah were the top 3 bakers and the rest were sitcom filler. It is very telling that Audra made her BEST cake of the competition and it still wasn't that good and got her eliminated, yet she made the top 5. Three tablespoons of banana extract? Really? She was making mistakes like that the whole competition, but there someone always worse. I don't hate watch, but disappointed that these kids were nowhere near the talent of the first 2 seasons.
  4. By seeing the low amount of posts, that people are now tired of this slow ridiculous soap opera. It takes 5 minutes to get 2 lines of dialogue and the plots go around in circles with no end or real sense. I actually liked it the first season but stopped watching and realized that not much has changed. I won't comment on the acting because its the typical pretty boy/girl model stiff acting you see from soaps. i guess the eye candy is the only real reason to watch
  5. still not understanding why the baker thought he could get by using canned peaches and store bought pastry and i knew he was a baker not faker, because a faker would never be that obvious. i guess his specialty was cakes but it shouldn't have been that hard to make something from scratch. i would be embarrassed if i was him. the rest of the cobblers looked real good.
  6. I missed this episode but from reading these comments that they couldn't even bake cookies. I'm just curious if they can even put bread in a toaster without it coming out as burnt toast. Amazed if they can put milk in their cereal without it overflowing and flooding the counter. Another poster said their kid was inept in the kitchen, he would've fit right in on this show. You need to put his audition tape in for next season.
  7. I've given up on this. Justice was the only one that made something that looked good, even though his flavors were off. This whole season was nothing but a Disney channel sitcom audition. It actually does seem like a comedy and would fit right in. Kids in the kitchen causing mayhem and acting cute and making corny jokes while not knowing how to bake while the laugh track goes crazy. Val and Duff as the over earnest boring parents shaking their heads while giving emotional support and life lessons.
  8. I agree with others that this season should've been just the rookie chefs. I stopped watching Top Chef after the season Kristen won over Brooke because I find it the most calculated and pre-determined reality show on television and that is saying a lot. I remember Padma on WWHL pretty much giving it away that Kristen would return after the Josie travesty from LCK to reassure furious fans and I knew right then she was going to win. Padma has always seemed fake to me. I'm with others that are thinking Brooke is ordained to win this. I think they should get rid of Last Chance Kitchen. I never liked the idea and never watched it and always hoped the returning chef wouldn't end up winning like Kristen did.
  9. I'm not a fan of cold cut sandwiches so i always cooked or microwaved the meat, whether it was ham, bologna, turkey or roast beef, and I had to have the cheese melted and usually the bread toasted. When I go to Subway I only order hot subs.
  10. Does everything have to have texture and crunch? I hear that all the time on these shows but when I eat a crepe, like one of the cooks prepared, I don't want crunch. I want my strawberry and cream crepe to have a smooth soft texture with no crunch.
  11. I thought maybe i tuned into Worst Bakers In America. They couldn't make brownies with ginger come out right. Even the winner had good brownies with hardly any ginger, second place overbaked, the next baked a blondie, which was stupid, with hardly any ginger and only survived because the eliminated bakers brownie was underbaked. I'm going to start being less harsh on those non talented kids on the Kids Baking Championship after this.
  12. Well we knew this fiasco was coming when they couldn't bake decent cupcakes or bundt cakes. They should've let them just try to bake an old school dessert instead of making fun of them. Most from this season need to learn the basics.
  13. The rest of these cooks left seem adequate so i'm not caring who wins. So glad that manic Maria is gone. Anybody with half a brain should be able to tell when you have way too much on a sandwich, and she was proud of it. I'm not sure why they didn't know about boiling the eggs right away, but when you are bad cook, you don't think about it, I guess. They had a recipe to follow so I guess there is no excuse.
  14. I like this show but not sure its coming back for another season. I have to comment from another post, its not just 2 vets that are black, but all 3. They all went to Tuskegee and Dr. Lavigne is black.
