  1. In my opinion, Valiyeva is missing the artistry we saw last night from her. It looked like two different skaters out there.

Seriously, I actually needed to double check and make sure it wasn't a different skater from the short program - that is how great a difference I saw between last night and tonight.

But congrats on the quads - too bad they came at the expense of her artistry.

  2. The way I understand the arms thing is that it makes the jump harder because it changes your center of gravity. If there is no GOE or level feature for it - what is the point of doing it?

I thought that, because holding your arms over your head made the jump harder, you received some kind of bonus for it. Can someone please explain?

  3. I am only a casual ice skating fan so maybe I am missing something but how did the ROC male skater not get more points deducted for artistry? Every jump he landed looked terrible. Yeah, he didn't fall but he looked like he was about to every time, with visible wobbles. He was overscored in my obviously uneducated opinion.

Has anyone else watched Meddled? Are they going to set up a thread to talk about it because I have lot I want to discuss about the series.

  4. Bonnie Hunt - she had some great TV shows and all of them were cancelled before their time: Grand, Davis Rules, The Building, Bonnie, and Life with Bonnie and had a fun talk show with the Bonnie Hunt Show. She has a unique voice in her writing and directing and I always give a little cheer in my head whenever her name shows up in the credits.

Well, hopefully not Tripp ... last I checked, his and Gwen's fathers were brothers

I am still desperately clinging to the belief that the DNA test was fixed and Gwen is not Jack's daughter lol

Okay, Tripp is out but what about Rafe? With the same characters I don't like together it will be much easier to skip their scenes.

  6. Didn't Kristen promise Brady she would not kill anyone ever again? Is that why Abby is so certain that Kristen won't kill her? I really don't care - I am enjoying MM's portrayal of Abby and how Abby is handling this situation. She is finally acting more like her parents by investigating Sarah's disappearance and not giving up even though others are telling her she needs to. And no one should grovel to Kristen - she is not worth it.

Speculation, not spoiler - I think Sarah has been brainwashed into believing her baby is alive and in Salem but instead of a little girl, she had a little boy. This would keep Rachel safe in case Sarah escaped and also keep Sarah from leaving. She is keeping her child safe by staying where she is and she wouldn't want to lose another child.

  7. I am very disappointed that they are choosing to kill off Abby. Under MM's portrayal she has slowly started to become Jack and Jennifer's daughter, especially with the recent search for Sarah. She is chasing the story, investigating, and not just accepting things at face value. She has been tenacious and smart - something Jennifer definitely was when she and Jack first got together at the Spectator.

You want to kill off a legacy character and get rid of Cin - have Ben murder Ciara after she has their demon baby. He could snap for any number of reasons and Ciara, like Abby, is the daughter of one of the original supercouples. This would bring an end to the character of Ben and his fake redemption arc, which I have never bought, and allow VK to still reappear on once in a while as a ghost to her child like they have done in the past with Staci Greason and the character of Brady. Then Shawn and Belle could raise demon baby while making sure that Ben is not only put away for life, he also never has a chance to be with his child again.

I think killing Abby is actually really short-sighted. The character has more potential that Ciara and she still has multiple family members on the show as well as connections through her marriage to the DiMera family. As a reporter, she could be involved in numerous storylines either peripherally or directly. Ciara does not really have a career or any family ties in town other than her brother and grandparents. Ben has no family connections anymore so it is a dead end on that side. I think Ron is mistaking sensationalism for story development, but that is his normal way of writing.

The only good thing I can think of is that Abby is the daughter of Jack and he has returned from the dead 3 times, including once when all his organs were removed from his body and given away. I can easily see Abby turning back up alive because the DiMera's found a way to save her. In a year or so she will show up at the church to stop Chad from moving on with his new lady love, probably Gwen, at their wedding.

Ooh - that could be a fun running theme! Gwen takes up with a man recently dumped or widowed and convinces them to marry her only for the lost love to interrupt their wedding and reclaim their man. It could start with Xander and continue on with Chad after Abby "dies". Then maybe Brady or Tripp...

For some reason, Gwen getting dumped over and over again at the altar makes me smile...

  8. This was okay - I made it through the entire series on a lazy day. As someone who has been known to spend a day watching Lifetime Movies, I wanted a little more absurdity in the show but Kristen Bell and Michael Ealy both did well with the material they were given.

I also loved the exchange at the end of the show with the airline steward where she is asked if she wants wine and she says she doesn't drink it anymore. Usually in these movies, the protagonist has managed to cure their alcoholism after solving the crime but not Anna. No, Anna now drinks Vodka. I don't know why but that entire exchange made me laugh and I am still laughing about it.

  9. I was instantly turned off by TVCCs before competition cheer of basically screw the judges because they are wrong if we don't win. Wrong. If you don't win, and I say this as someone who has won and lost her fair share of singing competitions, it is because you weren't the best. Don't blame the judges for your mistakes or doing their jobs.

Or as said in The Good Place:

Eleanor: This doesn't make me look good so don't judge me.

Michael: That is literally my job.

Also, do not complain that the other team got a second chance because one of their cheerleaders was injured during the performance. They were allowed to do so per the rules and they had to regroup and recover from an upsetting incident in a short amount of time. Accept you lost. Those grapes, they are sour.

Fame is a double-edged sword - the cheerleaders and coaches from Navarro are learning that one the hard way.

I am taking Ladarius's claims with a grain of salt. Do I believe hazing goes on - absolutely. Do I believe all the claims he submitted - no. Some of them were so outrageous and he does have something to gain from this controversy - a book deal. A few juicy tidbits, especially about Jerry and the dark side of Navarro, and he could get a good book deal no problem. Ladarius is many things, but stupid is not one of them.

Monica may have overstepped but at least she did try to spread the wealth among the cheerleaders. She set up opportunities for them, going out of her way to recommend them for different things, and tried to help them capitalize on this moment.

Monica has been consistent on making changes to routines in front of everyone, including pulling people out of the routine - Maddy is not special. She is still on mat and still a part of the routine. She acted like she was completely removed from the routine instead of understanding that this was best for the team. I understand being upset but not to the point that she ran off crying like she did. Suck it up and breakdown later with your friends at home. There were 20 other people desperate for your slot - be grateful for what you have.

As always, YMMV, it's just my opinion.

  10. Finally caught up and it is so frustrating because there are bits of good stories here that will never be followed up on or be rushed to a stupid conclusion.

For example, I actually do see a little chemistry between new EJ and Sami but it needs to be cultivated a little bit. One way not to help create chemistry: have them immediately return to their rebounds after a misunderstanding.

I would play it that Sami went to Lucas because she needs proof that he set up EJ. She convinces him that they need time away but refuses to sleep with him until they are in more stable space - she doesn't want to repeat the mistake they made months earlier. Meanwhile EJ is not only fighting the kidnapping charge for his upcoming trial (months, not days, after he is arrested), he is also actively searching for Sami and not trying to get into someone else's pants. This could play out for months while AS is off screen. The trial comes and things are looking bad for EJ as Lucas lies on the stand about what happened. In the middle of Lucas's testimony, Sami rushes in with proof that EJ is innocent.

EJ is thrilled to see his wife again but also conflicted as he has gotten close to Belle while preparing for the trial. Belle for her part is still reeling from Shawn accidentally sleeping with Jan. EJ has been her sounding board and confidant during their time together and, although they have never kissed, they have had a couple of close moments. Now that Sami is home and EJ is free, what will they do?

Is it classic soap? Yep, but that is what is missing from Days now, classic drawn out storylines that allows the tension and drama to grown naturally.

    A few other ideas:

Gwen's paternity test was faked, she is not Jack's daughter, and that is the secret she is hiding from him. I would prefer her storyline if she was wrong about her paternity and had targeted the wrong person. She found out the truth but doesn't want to lose the love of the man she now considers her father.

Ava keeps on toying with Rafe, not because she loves him, but because she realizes he is a weak man who cannot do the decent thing and break up with a woman he doesn't love. There is really no reason for Rafe to be with Ava just because it is what Nicole wants. Ridiculous.

It comes out that Sarah's baby was switched twice that night and baby Mickey is alive. Xander and her set out to find her baby. During their search for her baby, they fall in love again and Gwen gets dropped (I really don't like Gwen lol).

In an attempt to make Cin a little bit palatable, it is revealed that the real Ben was switched with a brainwashed lookalike in the mental hospital and the man we have been seeing on screen did not kill anyone. The real Ben is being trained for an assassin program with the ISA but he escapes and goes after Cin. Real Ben is killed by Shane, and Ciara is no longer married to a serial killer.

I don't know if any of this would work or is any good, I just hate that a show I used to love and actively watch is now something playing while I work or do homework.

I'm just going with Kate's mom is shady because she's played by Vera Farmiga. Nothing in show has pointed to her yet. While Jack basically has a target on his head saying BAD GUY. I'm just thinking that while we all look at Jack because we are supposed to, Eleanor is the real mastermind.

I've even seen theories that she killed her husband during the attack because she had the opportunity to and got his life insurance payout. While Kate was running around screaming for her parents, we didn't hear them calling for her.

I am in the camp that Kate's mom killed her dad and she is the real villain of the piece. Jack is bad too but they are an evil power couple.

Love that Clint seems to have told Laura about Ronin and she is supporting him in his attempt to get rid of the suit and the Tracksuit Mafia. Usually the wife will be in the dark or completely unsupportive of what the hero needs to do. Laura understands that it is not just about Ronin, the whole family is in danger is anyone ever figures out that Clint was Ronin.

I see Lila becoming jealous of the time her dad is spending with Kate.

Ready to see Yelena in the story - maybe we will even get a Julia Louis-Dreyfuss cameo?

  12. Wow - they have done a great job of proving that Don was a very shady guy who probably had many enemies due to the way he did business and acted personally in Costa Rico.

Let's start with the teenage girls he was hooking up with in Costa Rico. His steady girlfriend was 15-yrs old, almost 35 years younger than Don at the time. According to the people he worked with there, he was also involved with other teenage girls and money laundering.

The daughters come off as naïve and unable to comprehend just how much shady stuff that their father was doing. They hate Carole so much that they refuse to even consider that someone or something else might be responsible for their dad's disappearance.

If anything, the makers of the documentary made me look beyond Carole to other suspects. A part of me thinks that either someone Don was dealing with regarding the money laundering or the underage girls killed him and disposed of the body or Don got tired of his wife and daughters fighting, took his off-shore assets, and disappeared to a quieter life. Either scenario seems far more likely than Carole killing him and feeding his body to the tigers.

Do I like Carole? No, not even a little. I think she is no better than any of the other Big Cat people in these documentaries and took full advantage of Don's disappearance for her own benefit. That does not make her a murderer.

  13. While I appreciate trying to find a storyline beyond the initial transplant, I am not sure what the writers are going to do to keep them in each others lives. Gina will definitely buy the nursing home, giving her meaning and a purpose, and I could see her bring on Drew and his wife to work there to help her run the place. Include the daughter as a volunteer and you retain the main cast just in a different situation. But they need to drop this whole Drew is in love with Gina plot ASAP. It doesn't make sense and they do not have any romantic chemistry at all.

Keep Gina with her ex-football player boyfriend and reunite Drew with his ex-wife. Normally I do not see a point to reuniting exes but there seems to be a new understanding between the two of them since Drew's illness and transplant and I could see them slowly working their way back to each other.

There are plenty of stories that can be told about running a nursing home and they do not need to involve a love story between the two leads. In addition, the showrunners could also throw in some health concerns regarding kidney transplant patients and long-term effects of the operations.

  14. Wow - Sherry is a sociopath. Her fake tears, the pretending to step down and then getting back up to "humbly" accept the applause for her efforts, every move is calculated to make the search all about her and not Natalie. .

Sad about Gil but I think the horror of knowing he had raised a man who would attack and hurt women was to much for him to take.

  15. Kathryn Hahn was robbed. I watched both Mare of Easttown and WandaVision and there is no doubt, to me, that the more nuanced and important performance was Agnes/Agatha. To be honest, I cannot even remember Julianne Nicholson's character's name. The character was kind of background until the final episodes.

Yeah for Evan Peters!!! So deserved - his performance was the heart of the show. It wasn't the same once his character's arc was done.

  16. Well that went south fast with Brooke. Instead of two viable love interests, we now have the common trope of the good girl who accepts our male lead just the way he is and the manipulative one who only wants to change him. I like Erica, I do, but I just wanted more conflict, a more believable story than the writers are willing to give us.

That being said, I am still really enjoying this show. Turner is slowly growing on me and I really loved the way he handled the war vet and his dog. He is not ready to be in charge of an investigation just yet but he knows it and is willing to admit it. I am curious about their Dad's investigation and whether or not he was actually murdered while on his stakeout. It may have taken a few episodes to find its groove, but I can finally say I am in for the long haul.

  17. I think what I find most interesting is that both women, right now, seem viable love interests. I was all for Erica until Brooke stepped up and helped Turner wash a skunky Hooch. Now I am torn because I think both women offer something for Turner and they both seem to be good people. It is a nice change of pace to have two good people vying for the person's affection rather than an obvious good guy and bad guy. While I have no doubt that Turner will end up with Erica at the end, it's nice to have a different dynamic between the love interests.

  18. Hey Peacock - want to explain the constant breaks for a static screen of 5 minutes during the replays? You already have the footage and it has been edited, you are not showing any commercials, so why make us wait longer for the content? This makes no sense and only makes me certain that I will be dropping this channel as soon as the Olympics are over. I watched Boss Baby 2 and Dr. Death (highly recommend everyone see this) so I got my $4.99's worth for it but the Olympics coverage is simply atrocious. You had an extra year to figure this out - why didn't you?

Seriously, the site is difficult to navigate and the coverage is spotty at best. I want to see athletes from other teams compete, not just hear their scores or what place they got. The only place this hasn't been an issue with so far is in the diving competitions. We see each competitor and the announcers really know their stuff. I love watching the diving but everything else just sucks.
