I didn’t even watch her (short) season and knew it wouldn’t last. She went all in on one guy and didn’t let go. She should have played the game for the whole season to at least get more publicity out of it. Of course, we don’t know the real deal. It says he he broke it off. So, maybe she’s cray cray and he said I’m outta here. She also could have realized he wasn’t the one and didn’t want to play his games and he didn’t like it. It’s pretty sad when Big Brother & Survivor have better odds in relationships then this franchise. If you want love go to CBS. LOL!!!!!,

Clare living in the Big Brother house would be... amazing.

Wow , this has to be the cattiest group of bitches I have ever seen . It felt straight out of the movie Mean Girls and it really felt like watching a junior high school sleepover . Is Sarah extremely dramatic ? Yes . Is she an eeyore ? Yes . But have some class and stop bullying her .

I hate when they cast all 21-24 year olds on this show . I know it creates the drama they want  , but it feels creepy and unrealistic watching a mature , much older lead deal with this pettiness . And barely any of these girls are attractive with the exception of Rachael and maybe Serena . Did they have trouble casting during covid ?

This is an excellent point. Watching these younger women behave like children is such a turn-off. I'm a fair weather fan mostly because of it.

As do I, but take it from someone who is Valerie's age and used to be a dark brunette -- dark hair ages you.

Same. I look younger with lighter hair for sure. In Valerie's case, it seems to have the opposite effect. She looks much older (to me) as a blonde.

These girls don't seem to mind ANYTHING involving The Bachelor.  They NEED screen time.  They NEED exposure for their ka-reeeerrrrss.   Facial hair?  Cool.  Back hair?  Cool.  B.O.?  Cool.   Flirting with other girls on the show?  Not cool.

Unfortuately, it goes without saying that the majority of the women apply because they have an irrepressible need for attention and/or validation.  I would like to think there a few sincere ones who show up to find a future husband and are focused on things like compatibility, aligned ideology/religion/philosophy, etc in addition to attraction.  Maybe they are a bit misguided (delusional?), but it's nice to root for someone.

  5. My parents have a huge height difference and they find people who make comments about it insufferable.  These girls don't seem to mind.

I like Matt more than I expected. He seems humble, confused and a little overwhelmed. It's been a long time since we've had a rookie, even though he's Bachelor-adjacent. I loved that he started with a prayer and a Bible quote, and that he spoke about his biracial background right out of the gate. His body is impressive but I don't think his face is so gorgeous. He's got his mother's strong features.

Ugh, even though I know there are always the loonies, I just couldn't stomach the vibrator girl or the queen girl. Overplaying their shtick. That girl with the short dress is beautiful but way too self-involved. Thanks to the poster who said that her mother is Cynthia Rowley. I didn't know that, so I can see now she's a very specific type of NYC rich girl.

I love that the deaf girl got the first impression rose. It seems to be genetic in her family and that is something for a potential husband to consider, so I hope it's not a stumbling block.

Some extremely beautiful women, but I'm in love with that chateau. So much more grand than the regular mansion, not to mention La Quinta.

I really liked Abigail. I was watching the season preview and didn't see her on any of the highlighted romantic dates. I hope this doesn't mean she leaves earier than expected (and the newbies and crazy drama queens dominate for several weeks!).

Exactly. Those fine lines are not nearly as aging as a face with obvious work done. I love the idea of wrinkle prevention, but the fact some people look worse after things like Botox and fillers makes me too scared to mess with either. There's also just something about a natural face that's special to me. I really admire the beauty of women like Sophia Loren. She was a breathtaking beauty, but these days someone like her would have had a nose job and a ton of Botox before age 30. It's such a waste of God-given beauty.

yes. the erasure of distinctive features in exchange for this weird, rounded off, overripe face that bears no resemblance to the old one is so depressing. i hate how injections can start off as "enhancement" of natural beauty, but then turn into a high maintenance self improvement project that goes on for years. a lot of naturally beautiful women have become so vigiliant about tweaking every little thing and small changes are just part of a normal biological process. I get that aging is difficult and ageism is rampant (ugh). I just wish there weren't  ten iterations of one person's face, esp when less attractive people would LOVE to have the original verison. : (

I could be wrong but I think Ed got hot.

I can no longer recall Ed's face, but I did think it was charming when he got lost and spent a leisurely evening witih Chris. He seemed more relatable and endearing after that (I get lost in Target, so he has my empathy!). I think I'll miss these moments most from this season.

What happened to Spencer? I wanted him to tell all!

  9. I couldn't get through Confederacy of Dunces and stopped about seventy pages in. I loathed every moment spent with Ignatius Reilly and couldn't find any humor in his ridiculous whining. A few of my friends who enjoyed it are from the south (and the most ardent defender grew up in New Orleans).

I really loved the first half of East of Eden, but I wasn't as invested in the second generation Trask family and lost interest by the end. Big Steinbeck fan though!

I have hesitated in posting because I didn’t want to come across as insensitive.  Firstly, if Ben had two failed suicide attempts (in 2018 and 2019, no less!), he shouldn’t have come on this show, which can edit you in any way they please and screw with your mind.

But his reason for loving Tayshia was all about how she “made him feel”, was possibly the worst reason to express his love for her. I don’t know if it was his lack of being able to vocalize his feelings, or his immaturity. Frankly, I was embarrassed for him when he was talking to Tayshia’s father.

And I hope that TPTB do not entertain the idea of Ben for Bachelor!  Because I will not watch.  He’s in too fragile a mental state and I don’t want to see that exploited.

I truly cannot imagine Ben carrying a show.  Sometimes his awkward pauses suggest that he's being thoughtful and wanting to make a good impression, but maybe that's giving him too much credit? Also, his flat affect disturbs me. He doesn't seem "present" and having several women vying for his affection would probably disorient him!

Agree. I'm a bigger fan of him than her. She is nice. But just seemed too guarded all season. I feel I don't know her real personality. Or like she is hiding her real personality.

I agree with this. It's inaccurate for me to say I disliked her because I feel I didn't get to know her enough to like or dislike her. She has this cheerful, bubbly facade that distracts from any content. It's hard to explain. She supplied a lot of uncontroversial filler ("It's A LOT" x infinity) and affirmation to the men , but I don't know any more about what makes T tick than I did week one. Disappointing.  Alas, reality tv?

Previews for next Bachelor.  He is handsome, but the “drama” from the women is too much.  Not sure I can do it.

Yes, seems like a part of the Bravo franchise!

Matt is a very nice looking guy.

  13. Her speaking voice drives me crazy! She reminds me so much of Kim Kardashian. Maybe that's why I can't warm up to her? It's this grating valley girl/little girl way of articulating things.

I miss Brendan. Really dull finale. Hope Bachelor is better!
