I'm saddened by the comments people have made about the age differences of the two actors. I actually appreciated that they didn't try to "age up" Mark Jackson and that Claire made no reference to his youthful look. In an episode that was addressing the idea of love beyond the conventional that would have been pretty f#cking stupid. If you love someone, nothing else should matter. Societal constraints be damned.

Not to mention that there was that episode, "Mad Idolatry" in which Isaac went to that planet from a different timeline.  He spent 7 centuries there.  So, technically, Isaac had quite a lot of years on him.  He's centuries old.  Just because his character LOOKS 25 doesn't mean that he's 25.  And anyway, what does it matter, really.  I'm 6 years older than my husband and we make it work just fine.

Yul Brynner was hot! As I child and teen I admired him in The Ten Commandments

When I was a kid, my Aunt and Uncle took me to the Kennedy Center to see the play Ulysses.  Yul Brynner was in it.  When we were in the lobby during intermission, I saw him storm past, seemingly upset about something.  I remember asking my aunt why he looked so angry.  I don't really remember what she said, but it was still cool to see Yul in person so close!

I did watch the BTS and even in hindsight he seems a bit blind to the personality problems there. He did end by saying they need a behind-the-scenes for the second episode as well.

What Marcus admits to getting wrong about Standard Burger is taking a burger joint on Staten Island and pricing it like downtown Manhattan. Marcus was talking about $3.50 ingredients and a 75% profit margin so that means the main target would have to be a $14 burger.

Which all implies to me that he likely would have stuck out all the fighting if they were making money.

I live near Washington DC and to be honest, if I had seen a $14 price on a burger, I'd either order something else or go somewhere else.

  4. I watched this with my husband.  My parents were in the bakery business.  I grew up seeing the operation of this business.  It's not the easiest thing to do.

I did turn to my husband and say "Geez, why didn't she start out like a lot of people and cater from a website rather than having a physical business right away?"  A lot of people do that.  After you save up the capital, then open a brick and mortar store?  I guess people don't know that's an option?  *shrug*

  5. Everyone is coming down on Lolo about being upset, but I don't blame her.  She feels betrayed and frustrated.  To be honest, if it were me, I'd have a little snark for someone who I kept safe who then turned around and booted me.

I get trying to be a graceful loser, but still, it's got to be upsetting when you put your whole game on someone who couldn't care less about you.

She must have been thinking that she should have stuck with Tom and Kato.

This is because they can't get any "young" "celebrities" to play I think... but I'd always encourage having a wider disparity of ages, but the problem there I think is that most people can't take a whole summer off to do a tv show unless they are young or retired. Would be much more interesting I think.

I keep telling my husband that they ought to do an all older BB and they gang up on the youngsters and boot them out.  haha.  All the comps would be intellect based.  HA!

  7. Maybe it's just me, but figuring out who these singers are is secondary to the fabulous costumes for me.  But then, that's the cosplay in me.

Also, Nick, please stop using a hard G in Singer.  Seen G ur.

    Ug.

  8. I noticed two of the 3 cakes were leaning, yet they only commented on one.  Strange.  The winning cake, in fact, was one of them.

I didn't really like any of the cakes, honestly.  And these days if something isn't punch you in the face red and green I pretty much say to the TV, "They're going to hate it.  There's some brown in there!"

  9. Hey Christian!  How's it feel to lose, you loud mouthed jerk?  I'm grateful that this season is over.  I never want to see Christian again.  If they bring him back next year, I'm dropping this show.  If EJ is back, I'm out too.  I hate him equally as much as I hate Christian.

  10. You all echoed some of my thoughts.  I thought it was interesting, but confusing.  I'm willing to give it a few more episodes though.

At some point I turned to my husband and said, "Why don't they just put the telepath into a coma and get him out when they are ready?"

Also, I think the telepath may have saved that woman in the shower rather than hurt her because there is apparently some other baddie on the ship.

Oh, we'll see how it goes.

Nancy continues to annoy me with every sentence she utters. So tired of hearing "I can't taste the X" or "I'm not getting the X...are any of you getting the X?" I also can't stand the way she holds her fork- the exaggerated extended pinky looks so affected.  Unless she has rheumatoid arthritis or an invisible splint keeping that digit isolated, tuck the pinky in.

It's my understanding that pinky fingers extended is either no longer proper but also something to do with syphilis (those who extended their pinky fingers usually had it...it affects the hands.)  Is Nancy trying to tell us something?  Also, has she said, "yummy yummy in my tummy tummy tummy" yet?  I loathe her.

  12. What I don't understand is last week Amanda was safe even though she didn't properly nail a reflection, but this week they are all worried about the number of stems at the bottom of Chris' bouquet?  So, adherence to the rules is only a temporary thing?

To be honest, Amanda's looked unfinished to me.  I did like the red flower she did.  I didn't think it was muddy at all, but the two orange flowers?  They didn't look done.  How come they didn't say anything about that?

I hope Christian goes and walks off the rim of a volcano.

Believe me, I talked about a ton of stuff other than what country I’m from, it was just that they opted not to air that stuff.

I’m actually a pretty good baker. You should take a look at some of my work. My apologies that I made “home bakers” look bad. We should try a bake off ☺️

I think you'd be brilliant in one of the bake off shows!

  14. Three things I've learned from this show as a result of all the artist complaints:

    1.  Don't be fat.  Fat skin is hard to tattoo.

    2. Don't be old.  Old skin is hard to tattoo.

    3. Don't ask for anything more than something extremely simple and even that is hard to tattoo.

    Ooh, bonus one...

    4.  Don't pick any part of the body other than thigh.  Everything else is hard to tattoo.

Thanks, Spunkygal.  I should have thought of that.  I did that and also looked at him on Google Images and he doesn't look familiar there at all.  I must have him confused with someone else.

He's been on a lot of Verizon FIOS commercials.  The curly haired kid.  He made a lot of them and they were shown a lot too.

Halloween baking championship is my least favorite out of all the baking championships. Can’t wait for the fall baking championship. I love the judging combo of Duff, Lorraine, and Nancy. I absolutely cannot stand Zac. Does anyone remember him from that Top Chef spin-off, Top Desserts? He was such an awful human being on that show, as was everyone on that show, which is why it never got a second season. Anyway, i absolutely hated him on that show and i can’t believe he still gets work on tv.  And Zac, stop stealing lines from Rupaul’s Drag Race(one of my favorite shows), by calling the desserts an “eleganza extravaganza”. Ugh, can’t stand him. And i love how Michelle and Lorraine shut him down with the “it’s not fondant”. He had nothing to say after that. Look, i hate fondant too, but if i expect bakers on a Halloween baking show to make scarecrows, etc, u have to expect a little fondant Zac.  All of these contestants are terrible! Can’t stand Lyndsays (however u spell it) baby voice. And the young girl who thought bundt cake were ugly, wow, casting picked some real winners this season.

I love all the championship shows, but I have to say, the Spring one is my least favorite.  As for Zac, I also cannot stand him.  I watched him on Top Desserts and I hated him then.  He's just too mean spirited.  I'm glad that Lorraine and Carla stopped him from ranting and being insulting re: the "it's not fondant".

I miss Ron Ben Israel too.  I do love Carla though and she has to stay with the show permanently.  LOL.

Thinking maybe I ought to audition for this show.  Hmmm.

It was a great season with the two best in the final 2.   I would have been happy with either of them winning.

But the fake proposal by the attention seeking nobody was an insult to the viewers and other HG’s. Waste of precious air time.  CBS, please do not cast the faux couple in any other show.  Please do not bring them back.  Please do not put them on AR, Survivor, or a soap opera.  I don’t want to hear of these two ever again.

I was happy JC was ignored.   CBS heavily edited his behavior.

Looking forward to CBB and season 21 with JCM at the helm.

Oh, I don't know.  It would be fun to see Snaggy and Bayleigh have an utter meltdown and tell each other off on the Amazing Race while they try to muck through mud, failure after failure.  :)

  18. I'm fairly ok with Cleen, but I have a hard time enjoying watching Christian.  I wish we could just have a great group of tattooers and forget about grudge matches and captains of the team egos.  As long as EJay never comes back again, I'm fairly happy.

At least I get to watch JC and Sam get evicted on different nights.  In a perfect world, JC and Sam would be the final two.  I would laugh and laugh.  During the Veto competition, the cameras weren't even paying attention to Sam or JC.

Me too!  I was just thinking that a JC and Sam final would be so delicious.  Though I think Tyler played a great game, I lost all respect for him for hooking up with Angela.  I've hated her since she trashed Rachel for no reason.  I hope her emotionless cruel butt gets burned.
