I'm cool with that but here's the thing about about the rules of a show; you have to establish them and then stick with them. But this takes thinking, more than it takes to choreograph 3 fight scenes that have the visual finesse of gorillas hitting each other.
Contrast that show with this one. 'Time wants to happen'? Time isn't preventing Savage from nearly 'wiping it out' (whatever that means) but it is preventing Sarah from saving Laurel? I'm not an Arrow guy so I'm gonna have to assume that the actress who plays 'Laurel' got killed off and cast on a different show, necessitating that Sarah 'can't save her'. Else-wise this makes no flipping sense at all, even if it's way, way down the list of 'shit that makes no sense' in this episode alone.
I also think that everything Rip thinks he knows about time is suspect to bullshit, since the head Time Masters were manipulating time the whole time. (Too much time on this show.) So how he could "know" Laurel can't be saved is a mystery, unless he reads fan boards.

I *think* the explanation was this: The meteorites imbued the weapons with radiation power that was able to render Savage mortal when in its presence. With him in contact with the meteorites, those specific weapons became unnecessary. (Doesn't explain why Carter was unable to kill Savage back in Ep 2, but they probably hadn't quite figured out what they were going to do yet.)

Last week, when Iron Mask communicated the name "Jay Garrick" to the Flash team, it seemed reasonable to conclude that he was conveying his own identity. But in light of the big reveal this week, I think it's more likely he was trying to tell the group who Zoom is (he would think he's Jay if he has no reference point for other realities). So now I'm thinking Possibly Dead Jay is exactly who he says he is, Zoom is Hunter Zolomon/Earth-1 Jay doppelganger, and Iron Mask is someone else entirely. Possible?

I wish they'd given a little more coverage to the roller-skating-in-the-house issue. Not because it in itself was so interesting, but because it was possibly the only time we didn't see Jason make a huge stink about it being cut. Was it because there was an outside person involved who had no stake in the movie being made and thus couldn't be manipulated?

This show is seriously reaching Breaking Bad levels of tension and fucked-up-ness. For someone who has literally done nothing but make films for his entire adult life, Jason is astonishingly blind to which elements are and aren't important to the final product. And yet, once again, I have to put part of the blame on Effie for not being able to bring him to heel. That is perhaps THE most important responsibility of a producer, especially when she's in charge of a film made by a first-time director. As soon as it became clear that she wasn't capable of shutting him down, she should have been running that issue all the way up the flagpole early and often. *She* should have been the one reaching out to Daffleck and HBO for help, because she's the one who knows from experience exactly how fucked up shit will get if those issues aren't resolved. The director is supposed to be the one who throws up his hands and acts passive-aggressive when he doesn't get his way: let Jason complain that the film is going to come out shitty; he's the one who has to take creative responsibility, so he's going to be fully motivated to work as well as he can within the confines that have been set.
TL;DR: If the movie isn't funny, is badly acted or weirdly paced or whatever: that's on Jason. If the physical production of the movie implodes: that's on Effie.
@Nick, I would absolutely agree if I were sure what we've seen so far is the whole story. But I'm wondering if Effie really had the open line of communication you're suggesting. It seems too odd to me that experienced producers (I'm counting Joubert as well) would let this director run roughshod over them. It just feels to me like the normal rules are out the window here.
