  1. Looks like David was lying in his People interview... https://twitter.com/UhOSpaghettiO/status/702248341774716929 Documents show a 26 weeks anger management course... Not a 2 hour DV course. Physical contact with the GF and threatens to "slit the throat" of his brother. David also told police that the GF was sleeping with a co-worker, not his brother. Interesting that he would throw his brother to the wolves like that. ETA: source article http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/married-at-first-sight-david-norton-ashley-doherty-91734
  2. Fair enough, but if he DID spend a week in jail, it doesn't seem like it's such a mole hill.
  3. I was speaking from memory - His court records show arrest on 8/14 and arraignment on 8/21. Making the time in between a full week. No bail hearing or payment listed in the records, I would assume he stayed put.*Edit* also listed for 8/21 is an "amended release order". which also leads me to believe that he was released on that day.
  4. That was on camera... In my opinion, these little snippets of her being totally normal and even friendly to David that have been peppered throughout the show in the "behind the scenes" footage make me feel like there are some editing tricks involved in her character development. Agree or don't agree, that's fine.
  5. I think that casting folks without vetting them IS putting people in harm's way. Jessica didn't get a restraining order against Ryan D because he left the toilet seat up. Sean wasn't on probation for nothing. David shouldn't ever been considered for the show with any kind of domestic dispute on his record. Again, why is it so hard to find 6 people who have never been arrested?
  6. There has been speculation circling around that at least two of the girls from last season TRIED to quit the show because they felt unsafe or threatened by their spouses and they were met with abuse and threats of lawsuits from the producers of the show. Walking away from a contract (that appears to be pretty nuanced) with a company that has more money and resources than you isn't always possible.
  7. If no one pressed charges then why wasn't the case dismissed? There are two options: 1. Either they did press charges and he's lying 2. the cops witnessed the offense and dropping the charges wasn't an option. Three days in jail for breaking a phone seems excessive, no?
  8. She doesn't appear to be a cold dirty fish bitch (or whatever y'all like to call her) in that clip either.
  9. There is talk of the actual police report being published soon. I hope David's telling the truth about all of this. It isn't going to be a great thing for him if he's not.
  10. I believe in one of the previews for decision day that Sam runs out of the room. Maybe the twist is Neil says no and then says yes? or maybe he just says no.
  11. I think finding him on Tinder wouldn't be an issue if they were transparent about it. They're advertising it as a show where deserving applicants have tried everything with no success and seek this out to try to find love. What they're really doing is hitting people up on Tinder and offering them cash to do a show.... It's just disingenuous.
  12. So, David only did it for money and not for love? By his mother's admission? Interesting. Here's the link: http://starcasm.net/archives/335998
  13. I said I'm *inclined* to believe her. It's just a TV show! I give them both the benefit of the doubt. It just seems that there are a LOT of very strong feelings being expressed about how awful Ashley is and I find it confusing when none of us know her or the whole story.
  14. That's fine, but since AH was there and I was not, I'm inclined to believe her... Again, who knows.
  15. To play devil's advocate, there were also accusations that David was on his phone constantly when the cameras weren't around. I like what another poster said about her being open to the idea but in addition to not being attracted to him, his personality became a complete turn off for her. There are several instances in the textgate episode where she calls him a liar, or says under her breath that what he's saying isn't true. What if those are more general statements and not specifically related to that one incident? He is a salesman after all... (no not all salesmen are bad). Maybe she got to know him and didn't trust him at all, or always had a bad feeling that she couldn't explain? I can imagine as an introvert or someone who needs trust in order to open up to someone how having a bad feeling about them may be the deal breaker for really allowing them to get to know you. Who knows, really. It's all very interesting to me but at the same time, I can't wait for this season to be over.
  16. See, this is where I'm 100% convinced that editing played a role. I don't see why she wouldn't say something like that to him, especially after the conversation with Dr. C when all the cards were on the table about her not being attracted to him. As we're all aware, just because it didn't air, doesn't mean it didn't happen. You think the producers would show a conversation on the 3rd or 4th episode that leaves no doubt in the viewers' mind what the conclusion would be? Hell no, they're going to show the parts they want, rile people up, create drama, and count the ratings on decision day.
  17. I'm speaking only for myself here, but my beef is entirely with production and casting. Not with David. Not with Ashley. If it's true, it is despicable that they would cast someone with a criminal record that may include a violent offense towards a live-in partner for a show involving arranged marriage. ESPECIALLY after last season's fiasco resulting in a restraining order between ex-spouses.
  18. A plea deal was entered on 10/2/2007. It's in the court records.
  19. This was posted on another forum by someone else. Providing for clarification. According to AZ law and plea deals involving property destruction and/or violence in conjunction with a partner, spouse, friend or family member. Domestic Violence, including assault can be tried as a misdemeanor. This means pleading to a crime with a lesser penalty. Such a defendant's record would likely show either a conviction for assault in the 3rd degree , a misdemeanor, or for harassment, property destruction, disorderly conduct or a petty misdemeanor. The criminal history of these defendants will contain no record of any violation of Domestic Violence, but the charges fall within the legal definition of Domestic Violence. Here's a link to AZ law regarding Domestic Violence which explains the definition and classifications. http://apaac.az.gov/images/stories/DV/APAAC%20-DV.pdf This link will explain the nuances of Domestic Violence and how a victim is defined.
  20. This has already been addressed. Cast bios were likely written prior to the weddings and released just before the show aired. It is not uncommon in the reality tv world for packages to get put together early. 5 years from now his bio will still say he's 29. David has said that his father died when he was 7. His father died (according to the tombstone) on 9/23/92, meaning David's birthday would have to be sometime between 9/24/84 and 9/23/85. At one point during their argument about the text message, Ashley says, "I want you to talk to me like a 30 year-old man". Also there's this: starsmoonandsun ‏@starsmoonandsun @David_MAFS may I have your zodiac sign? David Norton David Norton – Verified account ‏@David_MAFS @starsmoonandsun Taurus, why do you ask? 8:04 PM - 8 Feb 2016 This narrows it down to late April/early May - meaning he turned 30 a month before the wedding.
  21. The preview shows them sitting side by side on decision day. Don't think that's the twist.
  22. I saw it. It's probably wishful thinking on my part. I can't imagine sitting through 3-4 hours of decisions. Just the thought makes me want to smack someone.
  23. Any chance that part 2 is actually the reunion show? Tres tweeted that there were only 3 episodes left: last night's episode, the finale, and the reunion show. David also tweeted that last night was the last night he was going to be live tweeting the episodes, because he was having a party for the finale next week.
  24. I would assume it's something like this. I didn't ask why he had it or how he had gotten it, only if he could verify it. According to their own website he has been a longterm client. I would assume that that warrants a birthday card or two.
