  1. I didn't see a space for this on its own and since it's basically a sub-episode, I hope it's okay to post here.

WHY did this episode need its own follow-up in an episode called "Chatfish"?

And...I'm afraid to sound too bitchy, bc she's not ugly, but why are Char and Nev, in this follow-up, acting like Miracle is the most gorgeous thing on the planet?

(ducks for being a mean b---, maybe I'm just cranky this week and things are setting me off).

  2. My mom is also 61 and she exercises a few times a week with a good, brisk walk, at least a mile long. :-)

Even when I was little and my grandma was that age (70's), I never thought of her as old.  I thought Todd trying to "hover" and be a "helicopter parent" of his own mom was comedic, but I didn't think the fall was at all.  As I mentioned, that was a hard, hard fall, or least it looked like it. I'm in pretty good health and have fallen on hard surfaces lately and really bruised my knee to the point of it swelling as well.  It looks like she took the brunt of it on her knees, which, though 71 isn't old, is old enough to not need direct trauma to an area required for good mobility, that really hit me wrong.

I know it's been mentioned maybe Savannah has a deviated septum, but her voice hurts my ear drums.

I really adore this show, though, and I agree with you about Chase, he's really coming into his own.

Faye is just hilarious. I'd drive her around any day and be her partner-in-crime.

  3. The way Faye fell last night (S 04, EP 05), she had to have hurt her knee. They played it off as being funny, but that had to hurt, older or not (I don't like thinking of 70's as old, my mom is 61 and I can't imagine her aging that much in 10 or so years, but I know it can happen; I've also never thought of that as old any way, "old" is 90-something!)

Her talking about having a little drink and the casino was a riot!

  4. Okay, maybe too honest confession:

I've never been super huge and have several times been way too thin, to the point of nutrient deficiencies.  But, even at my semi-normal weight, when I watch these shows, it tips to "worrying I'll end the same way and feeling like a whale"...but when I'm say, 5lbs lighter, on the low side of what's okay for my height/body type, I don't feel whale-sized.

FWIW, I'm right under 5'3 and 119 when I swell up from a good 12-17 pounds of PMS weight (I have horrible cycles, that adds tons of weight, mental and emotional trauma, and literal physical discomfort).

I don't at all feel good about myself when watching shows like this, I feel even worse.

So, now that I've been completely open, and I know have long had a disorder, does anyone else feel the same watching this show?

All of this being said, Gilbert saying she was like a "big assed baby", while I can understand the place that comes from, was awful.

I'm so sorry for her. :/

  5. I don't share that opinion. I think he's just trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame like a lot of reality show cast members. I'd rather watch Jason/Cassia/Ron/The Swiffer than half the reality shows I see commercials for.

I really enjoy Jason on Twitter and his commentary on the current season, he's engaging and funny, though it took me a minute to realize he as "that" Jason.

  6. I will laugh about this for a long time.... :)

Melanie's sisters can sign up for their own reality show, but I'm not sure what the name of it would be.

Whatever the title, it most certainly would involve bikes, brews, and ball bustin'...does the one smoke 40 packs a day? Should Devar ask her about that?

Also, I think Devar looks like Reno Wilson, (Officer Carl on Mike & Molly).

  7. She should have rubbed her hands all down and over his friggin' window...sliding sound effect from hand getting stuck would have been extra-epic.

Also, why does he seems medicated, like some sick puppy dog, some moments..and uber-daddy figure others? Total switch polar moments, no thank you.  This whole "live in denial land" mentality about our age and realities that he is, essentially, a pedophile (wasn't she a minor when they met, as others have pointed out?), he needs some help dealing with his stunted emotional growth over this past hurts, which yes, I am sorry he has experienced.  I'm half-waiting this show to reveal Nikki is the child of the woman he met in/near this city all these years ago, some abandoned child or some half-sister, aunt, family departed, that'd be a truth bomb TLC loves to hit us with.
