HFC - I know exactly what you mean re: the problem w/ yr hands. BTDT. This is what worked: O'Keefes Working Hands cream. It comes in a small round (2 shades of green) jar that holds almost 3 oz. & you can order it at any drugstore if they don't have it in stock. I live in GA, so since you're also a GRITS lol, you ought to be able to find it in yr area. p.s. LOVE your stories!

This is the anniversary of my Mum dying. I was alone w/ her through it b/c other family members said they "couldn't handle it", and the experience left me traumatized, but I am so glad that I could do it for her. I wanted to say that reading all your stories helps me. Thank-you!! HFC ((huge hugs))

Thank-you so much everyone for your kind words about the death of my daughters' friend Nick in the Paris tragedy. It meant a lot to read them. He was a really lovely person and will be missed by so many people...

Sadly someone I knew from when he was young, was killed in the horrific attacks in Paris yesterday. He was a close friend of my daughter. I don't have the words to express my sorrow and horror about it all.

I am *LOVING* reading all of your recipe/holiday stories! (& PixieChicken, I'm still laughing at the ground zero recipe of potato boats!!!) This is my very favorite time of year! The excitement starts in September but goes into overdrive on Nov. 1st.- that's when I try to do a special (tiny) treat or celebration or holiday related thing every day till Dec. 23rd. It started when my daughter was little, but nowadays I keep it up for me, lol, (tho I do include my husband in some of it)

Hi everybody, Like someone above me said, I've read here for a long time but never posted, but I was so shocked by finding out about WW that I just decided I had to de-lurk! What a shame it turned out as it did! Everyone here is so friendly - I hope you will let me join your group. About me: female, married to a v nice husband, 1 daughter (all grown-up, but still my "baby") & I live in a small town south of Atlanta. Don't know what else to say, so I will stop now, lol. Hope everyone has a great wk-end - the weather here is gorgeous & I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could go out & enjoy it, lol. (aka "spending money" in nearby towns, lol)
