  1.

(Forever Knight in the '90s with vampire Nick Knight...anyone else remember that?)

Yup. Also starring a Welsh actor (Geraint Wyn Davies).

I suspect they might have aired the pilot tonight so people like me, who watch Dancing With the Stars and like their eye candy, would check it out. (Never heard of it before it started after DWTS ended; don't recall ever hearing of New Amsterdam.) Not so much of a TV watcher these days, but gonna give it a shot.

Was it me, or did Tony seem to be all kinds of disgusted when he picked up the pile of feather boas?

From what he said (during the Erin interview? something like that), he'd very carefully made sure the boa was barely attached to the dress rack, and a stage hand came along after and put it on the hook so it wouldn't fall off. Ouch. And about par for the course for how the production went last night.

Meant to vote online, fell asleep. Oh well... I was hoping to shore up Betsey's numbers at least some. I doubt she'll go, she was fun and should be easily able to overcome the low score, but it would have been nice to help.

Keo was a beautiful dancer to watch. Seeing the real champions dance is so often a joy (especially dancing with other champions doing ballroom).

ETA: I totally missed that Peta was dressed as a pot leaf. Classic!

  3. Len has said that he's tired of the commute between the two shows in the fall and that he would drop DWTS over Strictly Come Dancing. Bruno said if Len doesn't commute it'll be that much more miserable for him to commute, so he might also quit. (This is from memory, but I *think* it's right.) Plus didn't Len get married like a year ago? That might increase the appeal of staying home.

  4. Nay. I wasn't watching back when she was a pro, and what I've seen of her since doesn't help me understand what the fuss is about. I mean Tom acts like his little girl has come home whenever she's on, which I get, but why are *we* supposed to feel like the Prodigal has returned, having spent all her show biz capital?

Actually, I suppose that's what really bugs me, and I may be way off base about it - the feeling that TPTB expect the viewers to think it's waaay cool.

Personally, as an Afterbuzz watcher, I'd far rather see Anna.

  5. Really liked about half the dances, liked Billy Dee's exit being classy. What was with Bruno not being able to keep his hands off Robin?

Before the season started, I wrote down my best guess as to which three would go first, etc. The first three are gone. And I haven't changed my mind about the final three - I think Charlie, Meryl, and Danica. Not that it means anything, I'm usually waaaaay off. After tonight, James has moved up to the upper middle three. Provisionally. I still want to snooze during his backstage video package.

I'm surprised by Candace not being better; I really liked her first week, thought she had more potential.

Glad they've dropped the idea of people being able to keep the switched partner.

  6. I said this over on TWoP but it bears repeating... I initially thought oh, it should be no spaces! But as I thought about what info TPTB need I realized it shouldn't matter. All they need to do is write a routine that collects all the tweets with #DWTS for the week and counts each variation. It's a simple matter to add, say, the collected numbers for #DWTSMerylVal, #DWTS Meryl Val, #DWTSMerylValentin, and #DWTS Meryl Valentin. It's a trivial programming effort, and it's also trivial to ignore upper vs. lower case.

Which they totally should have said by now, so yeah, they're being their usual annoying selves. The only way it matters is if TPTB think they can get away with being jerks, which they can't as long as one person who does Twitter programming checks up on them. And a *lot* of people do Twitter programming.
