  1. I read an article where Chloe Dao mentioned that Bill said he wanted her to make a dress that Jen could wear to their wedding and also to their child's baptism. I thought that was very thoughtful and thrifty too. Why not use a pretty dress like that for more than one occasion?
  2. I thought Jen's dress for her actual wedding was timeless and elegant, she looked like a princess. I've always loved duchess satin but my sister put me off that when she had a duchess satin wedding dress and it creased mercilessly. The dress looked great as she was being fitted and even in the box but as soon as she exited the car to go into the church, there was a heavy crease in the back from the ground all the way up to her rear end. It looked like a big, wedding dress wedgie! We were able to steam it out but she was so nervous it would reappear she moved very stiffly throughout the ceremony. I decided to go the with the traditional lace wedding dress since it doesn't crease or wrinkle up quite as much. The problem I had was that I was married on an unseasonably hot and humid day and the lace just stuck to me and was so itchy! I just wanted to scratch my way through the whole ceremony. I took the dress off after pictures were taken, I just couldn't stand it anymore. Fortunately for both of us, our marriages turned out better than the ceremonies that started them off, I was glad that the dresses weren't omens for the future!
  3. I finally sat down to watch this episode because I was working so much this week and what a treat it was. I have to confess that I don't really like weddings. I know I'm supposed to be all teary eyed and happy about the couple's future but for me, once I see the wedding dress, I'm ready for the reception. They're just sort of boring. (I know I'm horrible) What I loved about Bill and Jen's renewal ceremony was you saw the dress, which was lovely but the actual ceremony itself was about 15 minutes, then off to the reception, that's my kind of wedding! I loved the vows, they were so heartfelt and filled with all the joys and trials of that amazing year they just had. What a wonderful way to cap off that time, confess in front of your friends and family how much you love and value each other and then throw a big party with a yummy looking cake! Best of luck to them, hope the show gets renewed, I'd love to follow this charming, accomplished family into the future.
  4. I hope that if I'm ever violently killed and press the return button to make my way back to earth, my new body would be smart enough to never watch this show! I don't even know where to start, DDD used to be fun and even though it was way too silly at times, there were still interesting plots and relatable characters. I liked watching Deb's journey to becoming Jane and valuing her brains and everything she had accomplished while making Jane kinder, especially in her relationship with her mother but keeping the love of fashion and silliness that was part of Deb. I thought together they made a great person and I enjoyed the Deb/Jane character of that first year especially. I'm especially disappointed in the Stacy,Deb/Jane friendship. I liked that Stacy was the first person Deb told about her new body and how Stacy and Jane formed a really great friendship, less shallow than the Stacy/Deb one. Stacy and Jane trusted each other, were best friends and now...Stacy's carrying Jane's ex-fiance's babies. What? That was when the show went completely downhill for me, when Stacy couldn't find anyone else in the world to father her baby other than her best friend's ex-fiance that Jane still loved. It was ridiculous and a huge betrayal of friendship! Now we have Stacy and Owen together (whatever) and they put Jane with Greyson which was expected from the beginning (although I enjoyed the Owen detour myself) and after all these years on the show, they switch actors at the end? I know that the Greyson actor had as much energy as I do before my morning coffee but still why switch bodies now? Why not a couple years ago when a new actor might have energized the show a bit? I'm going to continue to watch until the end because I've invested this much time in it why stop now! Also, I love Brooke Eliott and I'm hoping for a big musical number to end the show on a good note for me but I'm still disappointed on the wasted potential of this show.
  5. I know this episode was awhile ago but it was my favorite of the whole series. First off, I'm a little obsessed with Christmas, I start decorating before Thanksgiving so I always love to watch Christmas themed episodes to get new ideas. That huge tree in their living room was great! I loved the big ornaments and colored lights. The colorful boxes under the tree were wonderfully decorative but also kept the kids and dogs from getting under the tree and causing a mess. What I really loved about the show was when Bill was putting up the train under the tree and talked about how he used to do that with his dad and brothers and loved that he could share that with his kids now, especially Will since Zoey didn't look all that interested. Then when they were decorating the tree and the kids wanted to play with the ornaments rather than put them on the tree (been there too) so Jen was putting them on and Will was taking them off, especially the car ornaments. My favorite part though, was the end when they all sat down to look at their Christmas tree and gave each other hugs and kisses. It was just so adorable!! Particularly with Zoey who had such a difficult transition and was now at ease enough to feel that she was a member of her loving and wonderful family. I could feel the love from that episode pouring out of my TV set. I think I've watched it at least 3 times!
  6. Thanks for the welcome! I'm so sorry about the loss of your cats in such a short period of time. That happened to me too a few years ago, as I had a whole litter that I adopted in college and they lived long lives too but nature took it's course and they all passed away in the course of a couple years. It's really sad when you lose all that love and history with your pet but thankfully we're left with lots of wonderful memories. We've since adopted or were adopted by, five new cats and two dogs, so my heart is filled with new memories as well as the old. All my usual shows are off for the summer now, so maybe I'll have to start trying out some of the other reality shows out there, as long as they don't involve a Kardashian, I'm willing to give it a try!
  7. Thanks for the welcome!I do know Dr. Norsworthy, not personally but I've read his textbooks and been to a few of his lectures. I was able to speak with him a few times, he's really charming and I remember him saying that he liked black cats, I have a soft spot for them too, so that made me like him even more. You're lucky to have him as your vet, he's very accomplished and dedicated to his patients and their owners. The avatar is of one of my cats (I have 5!). My daughter dressed her as one of the princesses from Frozen but by the time I took the picture, only the hair remained intact. I think she liked it, she wore it for about a half hour! My daughter loves the pet shop that Bill and Judy run on the show, she wants to own one herself someday, that or be a princess, she's not sure yet. She just loves all the dog costumes but thinks they need more stuff for cats too. Does the store have feline products or just canine? I never thought about it until my five year old started worrying about all the "naked" cats in Houston because they don't have clothes like the dogs have.
  8. Thanks to everyone who set up this thread! I'm so glad there's a new place to discuss "The Little Couple" and all the other wonderful shows that were available over on TWOP. I'm a veterinarian from NJ, specializing in felines but will take on even the largest dogs! I'm a wife and mom to three, two boys and a girl as well as a couple dogs, many cats and recently a guinea pig that was abandoned at our hospital but now has a loving home in my daughter's bedroom. Can't say I really watch reality TV other than "The Little Couple" or "House Hunters." I just happened to stumble upon the first episode of this show and loved it ever since. I just love Jen in particular because of her determination and spirit to go after her dreams and not let anything stand in her way from living a life of use and purpose. She's a fantastic role model for kids especially, pursuing your dreams no matter what the obstacle. It took me awhile to warm up to Bill, it really started to happen after they adopted Will and I saw what a wonderful husband and father he was during that process and my admiration for him has only grown watching him care for the kids and Jen during her cancer ordeal. Now, I just think he's fantastic (I'm sure he was before too, I don't know what I was thinking!) The kids are just adorable, lively, fun Will and contemplative Zoey with her Audrey Hepburn-esque eyes. It's been wonderful to watch them grow together as a family. I love the dogs too! So glad to find this thread before the show ends for the season, so I can discuss the last couple of episodes with other fans of the show!
