  1. I'm afraid that I have to agree with free2think above. I used to watch the show--not my fave but it was a diversion on a Sunday night. But now it seems to me that the producers/writers and whomever have removed anything which could possibly have had anything resembling any sort of questionable activity. No, not talking about serious controversy but anything which strayed an iota from the Hallmark brand of family entertainment in the blandest, safest, least possibly offensive sense of the word. And no, I don't hate Hallmark; some of their cards are quite nice.

No, not suggesting that the characters suddenly open a strip club or start selling crack on the street corners but several characters are supposed (we're led to believe)to be  somehow supernatural, posses 'powers' beyond knowing when the doorbell is going to ring. Every plot line, such as they are, meander for a while but never really get anywhere. Characters don't evolve. Nothing really happens. Cassie's shop--as has been mentioned above--has reverted from a place to find special, one of a kind stuff to the most generic Hallmark store on the planet.

To me it's become flatout boring. As the saying goes; 'there's no there there'. Sorry but until or unless they goose some life into the show, I'm gone.

The horrific fabric choices have been really pretty stunning. The fabrics they choose look cheap and tacky. None of it flows well. It looks like stretch polyester in dull matte colors.

I agree and am astounded by the thought that these contestants really either have that little experience with fabrics or that they're so rattled and exhausted by the time constraints that's the best choices they can make. I can understand not having personal knowledge with every type of fabric or textile under the sun but, assuming that they all have some background sewing/designing or even just watching a red carpet fashion walk, with a few exceptions, yeah...pretty off the mark.

Mood can sometimes be a bit high but we're not talking about purchasing spun gold. Plus the notions, and trim can add up surprisingly quickly. I've also noticed that the designers tend to buy extra fabric and backup, alternative choices, perhaps because of the short design time they have for each challenge.

Yes, is Victoria’s husband independently wealthy or something? Why would he quit just to “support “ her?

I don't have any insight or information regarding her husband but athletes get injured or are past their prime (or fail to produce) and can be cut for any number of reasons.

Victoria criticizes Marquise for making his dress look cheap meanwhile she is using a cheap polyester fabric. I’m glad the judges at least dinged her for that. Victoria got really lucky that her athlete had a nice figure and could make her dress look better than it really was.

And repeated several times that they immediately knew it was her design (uh-huh... my blind cousin would have known) but it was 'her DNA' so that was okay.

    WTF? I mean, seriously???

Design something put it together and then start to edit if you have to but the way these designers shoot themselves in the foot being so damn stubborn about what they won't do or what they don't usually do seems absolutely stupid.

It seems to me that it's fairly consistent that the designers who piss and moan that they 'don't do prints' or they 'only use black' or whatever are generally the crap, limited designers.

Sure, they all have their preferences but a designer designs.

  6. To the above poster who commented that early to mid 60 year olds were likely not really at Woodstock. With respect, I'm 66 and have old classmates (my age) who were, indeed, at Woodstock. We lived in New Jersey and they hitched up the NY Thruway and had a helluva time. My BF at the time's sister did the same as did my own brother and cousin. I didn't join them because I was in Europe that summer (dad was an Army colonel and military family could travel incredibly cheaply back then).

They were in their mid teens and still talk about it.

Gah, the backwards tuxedo from Celine. It was ridiculous then, what she wore.

Perhaps (I remember at the time just thinking that it was kinda stupid) but it garnered more attention and free PR than should be legal and 20 years later people still remember it. It achieved what it needed to for her.

Sergio's look was fine, but as many have said, it's already been done... and also, didn't Nancy do a backwards white shirt in one of the first episodes? I get wanting to mix thing up, but just turning shit around has been done...

Yes, it was clearly a ripoff of (or, to be polite; inspired by) the Galliano outfit. I do think that it would have been slightly less obvious if he'd, at least, made it in a different color pallet. ANY other color pallet than white/cream/pastel. Using the colors he chose just made it all the more obvious and highlighted the obvious.

    But it was well done.

I think Christian & the other designers are getting sick of her rude and hateful attitude; it wouldn't surprise me if she declined an after show interview with Christian. Just let us see her flounce out of the building, lol, if she ever gets auffed.

I suspect that it's in their contracts to sit for the auffed interview, whether they want to or not.

Honestly I was kind of shocked and disappointed that EVERYONE left the workroom to follow Victoria and beg her to stay (especially considering that barely anyone stopped working last week when Dayoung was sick). Like do you all care that much whether or not she quits? Enough to stop working on your garments during a one day challenge?!

I thought that was bizarre and it just screams fake, Fake, FAKE! Why in the world would these competitors burn what appeared to be at least 15 minutes of a one day challenge desperately pleading with the whiny diva judges'-darling-despite-making-the-same-garment-for-every-challenge, who is likely to ultimately beat all of them with her one-dress collection, not to leave the competition?

Surely the producers stopped the clock to put on that shitshow.

Especially when there are obviously medics either onset or a quick 911 call away. Compassion is a wonderful thing, indeed, however it didn't look like any of the other designers could actually help the poor woman, beyond holding her hand and offering words of comfort. While that really is a nice thing to do....aside from some warm and fuzzy moments what did it accomplish?

Sergio and Victoria are the designated villains of the season; no way he makes it to the end, and while I wouldn't rule out her making the finale, Bravo is smarter than Lifetime and probably would keep her in a better light if she actually won.

I thought sergio’s look was unremarkable. And slightly dated.  Maybe because he typically designs for rich older ladies, his past few looks (maybe all his looks) have been unoriginal.

Just two words for you...Gretchen and that woman who literally couldn't sew on a button and just draped everything.

    We'll see.....

With regard to Sergio's esthetic, such as it is...with genuine respect... I'm a reasonably well off older lady (65+), enjoy clothes and don't need to revisit my youth or even middle age when I get dressed in the morning. If I say so myself, I know fashion, I know vintage and understand both.

"What is this 'sheer'?"  (Said in my best Moldovan accent?)

Personal peeve...the worn out it's welcome look of a sheer skirt over a mini skirt/pair of shorts/bikini bottom/nude trunks/nude panties. A fad whose time may have come but, with any luck, has gone.

How many of those will we see next week....?

  13. I have a vague memory of Slade and Heather at some upscale jewelry store looking for rings. For Jo? The blonde he ended up with whose name escapes me? At some point Slade asks the owner/salesman/whatever if they could make a ring using, basically, glass instead of the good stones.

    He was told...yeah...that's a no.

  14. Okay, watched (most) of the show after recording it last night.

All I could think when Victoria's onsie came out was that it looked like a bad costume for Star Trek, circa 1970-something. Body hugging, sexist (and this is my boob...!) and unwearable for virtually any normal human.

And I seriously doubt that it was made out of doubleknit but you never know.

The funniest part of this story is Page Six referring to Alexa as a RHOC star.

A much better description would be "drug addicted, D-List porn actor". Lynn Curtin NEVER should have had kids.

Well, yes, but the reality doesn't make it any less tragic...those girls never had a chance.

  16. Good morning Goldilocks...I'm confused. I didn't quote my last posting above, I wrote that. I worked in theater/film/TV for a number of years and I based that on my own knowledge. I merely used your post/quote as an example of inconsistencies in the series. No offense of any kind intended.

    Sorry if there's any confusion.
