You and me both. I love historical drama and can handwave some um, dramatic misinformation, but the terrible casting of a small, skinny, dark actor as the strong, athletic, tall, and yes, red headed Henry was too far fetched.

Wolf Hall won me over immediately with Damien Lewis as Henry for that reason. LOL

though reading about Belushi’s downward spiral breajs my heart.

A few years ago, I was on an SNL binge and was reading about Belushi and Farley. I read a lot of pretty depressing nonfiction, but I finally just had to stop. It was too sad.

Didn't Amy and her husband appear on like a celebrity marriage boot camp reality program at one point early on in their marriage?

Yes that's where she talked about him throwing her cat during a fight.

I only stayed that long for Maria Doyle Kennedy's magnificent Catherine of Aragon anyway.

That's what really bums me out. I really do like her and some of the other cast members, and I probably would enjoy them if I watched. But not at the cost of JRM's Henry!

  5. Oh no I always liked him! Also tend to agree with Ebert's theory that "no movie featuring either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh
in a supporting role can be altogether bad."

I mainly associate him with Coen Brothers movies, but I was happy to see him still acting in Knives Out and The Righteous Gemstones.

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was way too short to play the 6'2" or better king.

Yes and I've never been able to get over one of the most famously redheaded persons in history being a brunette. They didn't even try. LOL

I couldn't make it through the first episode when they had Henry VIII's uncle killed

I have occasionally thought about watching it, but because of my complaints about the Henry casting, I never can bring myself to start it.

Josh has been in prison for 663 days and should be released in 3,120 days. Had he not been caught with a phone he release date would have been in 3069 days.

    In 8+ years his kids will be 21, 19, 17, 15, 13, 11 and 9. Josh and Anna will be 43.

I wonder if Josh has the cognitive ability to realize how much society will change in that time and more importantly, how much Anna and the kids will.

I suspect he does, but I also am not sure he really cares, which is probably the same difference.

Boy howdy.  I get that it smarts to hear you suck at your craft, but, first of all, he does, so she's far from the first person to say so, and secondly, this kind of shit does not do him any favors:

Baldwin is not the point of the story (which is presumably why when she first wrote about it she didn't even name him) -- it's that she was casually instructed to fuck someone as part of her job, in order to elevate his performance.

Yeah by all accounts, they absolutely hated each other on that set, which I'm sure is a factor in the attitude expressed, but Robert Evans was the villain of her story. If he'd just kept his mouth shut or offered up some civil comment that he didn't know about that but was sorry she'd experienced it, the focus would not have been on him. He just basically made sure way more people now reminisce about how terrible he is at acting and read his hateful diatribe than if he'd been quiet or gracious.

    Agree

I think they all still live on the TTH property same a Joe and Kendra, Jer and Hannah.

Elijah though, claimed he had moved out and his truck was stolen from his new home a year or so ago and he has not updated to any other address in Arkansas.

Anna is still registered with the warehome address. Maybe she lives there still, but I don't think so.

Jessa and Ben are still registered at the old mold house address.

Joshiah and Lauren are listed in Rogers even though they supposedly built that big house adjacent to JB property near that schoolroom church shown on the show.

Maybe AR records are slow, but Jer and Jed's have changed several times over the past few years, so they do get changed.

Which site are you using? The secretary of state site is very accurate in reflecting voter information on file with the county clerk's office.

Not invalid points. However, between Charlotte Stewart and Karen Grassle both going to bat for MSA in their bios AND with many of the viewers concluding that there had to be another side besides 'MSA's rotten for no reason[ while MG's mean pranks get laughed off],' it might be worth her time to at least connect to the more balanced cast members if not audience members.

That's true, but I suspect the show may not mean the same to her as some of the other cast members for whatever reason. She could just as easily and perhaps more comfortably reconnect with them one-on-one rather than at a reunion.

This came up with the Band of Brothers vets and their reunions. For a lot of them, it was such an essential part of their life that those connections were super important to them. But for at least one of them who went on to be career military, it was just one of many units he served with. He was proud of his service and he was polite to people who reached out to him to reminisce, but a reunion didn't interest him. He also didn't seek out those connections or seem too troubled by missing out on them.

Though, oddly enough Melissa Sue Anderson doesn't seem to be ready to join the others.

Honestly, with the comments that were made about her by M. Gilbert and Arngrim, I don't blame her. Some of the anecdotes about her as a kid do make her sound mean, but some of it doesn't reflect well on them either. In any event, I don't blame her for avoiding the inevitable revisiting of all that.

It would be nice but why would he come out of retirement so to speak for a reunion in Simi Valley? Just seems odd but I hope it's true. He will steal the show from the regulars. The only thing I see odd in the add is they used an old photo, did he change that much?

I always felt bad that he wasn't talking to anyone in his family but respected there might have been very good reasons from tidbits Richard Bull said and probably other things unsaid. I hope he had a good life and whether he shows up or not, whether it's for the money or making amends, I hope it goes well if he comes.

I didn't see it on her facebook page, did you have a link? I used search on top of page. Some fans are doubting it although it's on the ad for the event which says a lot, but not on official FB page of Alison. Some people do commit and then don't come for various reasons though.   I think they lied so much about him in the past, making up things about him, it just leaves a lot of doubt.

I see they are selling photos with him for 75.00, others are more, some 10.00 less. Can add up if a fan in the excitement just says "charge it" You are home and wondering why there's 500.00 or more on your card. lol

It's the 50th, but I agree it is interesting he finally decided to attend.

I didn't personally see it on Facebook, but apparently she administers the Little House Cast Reunion page. I think I misspoke and called it a group. That being said, I probably should have done some more investigating since I just saw it posted on Reddit.

Interesting that Mr. Butler has since become aware (and self-conscious) over the fact that the show's Spanish pronunciation of Al- MOHN-zoh was not how the any of the Wilders themselves pronounced it [Al-MAN-zoh- which made Laura's 'Manley' nickname seem more natural).

That makes way more sense, but I totally read his name as a Spanish-style Almanzo all the way through the books. LOL

I seem to recall that there were also reports of a lot of drinking and drug use in the evenings after filming was complete and that she set up targets and let various crew members use some of the pistols she was handling to shoot at them.  That boozy shooting contests were a common after work activity, organized by her.  That doesn't make her sound like the sort of person who should be handling weapons of any kind ever, let alone placed in charge.

Agreed. I've even some speculation she may have been high on the clock. I'm honestly surprised it took as long as it did for someone to get hurt, based on every anecdote I've read about the set.

she seems like the very definition of someone who had one job - making sure the weapons used on set were safe to use - and failed to do it properly.

Interestingly enough, the movie was so low budget that they actually hired her for two jobs--armorer and assistant prop master--and that was apparently a big part of the reason why they couldn't hire any other armorer. No other professional armorer would agree to that.

But I don't think she's a scapegoat who was unfairly convicted either. She's the one who agreed to those terms. Apparently, when Baldwin would use the gun to point at people like he would have used his finger, rather than correcting him, she just told people to move out of his way. The detail that floored me the most was an anecdote about her sitting on the pebble-strewn ground loading a pistol. It took other people pointing out how unsafe that was if she accidentally got a rock in the gun for her to move the activity elsewhere.

What is the case against Baldwin? That even though he had every reason to think the gun had blanks, he still shouldn't have aimed it and pulled the trigger in  the run-through?

If so, I don't get that, because when the director called action, the shot required him to aim the gun and pull the trigger--so the tragedy would have happened then instead of in the run-through. Right? Or maybe not. I'm looking to be educated here.

From what I've read, the scene didn't call for him to pull the trigger. He also, per behind the scenes footage, had repeatedly been using the guns to point at things. It's also been said he skipped whatever mandatory training they did have and kept rushing the armorer because he was impatient. It doesn't sound like he was a hapless victim of the set and was actively contributing to the safety issues himself.
