Ah, now I remember where I saw Tamar Braxton. She was on Celebrity Family Feud, and yes, she does have a big personality. She was pretty funny, so I think she will last a few weeks. I do agree with Nick and Bindi being the final two.

At least Andy had a recent hit, so although I'm not that familiar with him, I would call him a legitimate star unlike these other folks. Unfortunately I think Paula Deen will be in the finals. The same people who voted for Bristol Palin will vote for her.

Not even Anna's return can hype me up for this cast. Literally what the fuck, ABC. 

 

I hear ya. I thought season 19 was bad, and then there was last season which I thought couldn't possibly get any worse. But it did :-(

I think Nick has this in the bag unless he has a bad attitude. He and Bindi (because of her dad) have the nostalgia factor going, and he is probably a better dancer than her. Boy banders from the 90s almost always do well on DWTS.

I think part of it is that it's the show's way of bringing "real" people into the competition.  Many of us secretly wish we could have a chance to show our stuff with the pro of our choice (I'd dance with Louis or Anna in a heartbeat!), so I think this casting is their idea of giving us the opportunity to live that fantasy by proxy.  I think that's why Alek Skarlatos was cast -- like Noah and J.R., he's the closest this show has come to casting a "regular" person who could be any one of us.  

 

J.R. was a popular character on All My Children, though. He's actually a really good actor. I thought he would get a big boost from DWTS, but surprisingly he didn't.

I agree. Yes, DWTS has never shied from a controversial contestant but Wade seems to be dipping in the really ratchet world of reality television for contestants. That seems to be his idea of interesting and exciting and I for one am not here for that kind of DWTS. As I understand it, Conrad left to go produce that Fox show Utopia that ended up a massive flop so what does he have doing right now? He needs to come back.

 

I think he's trying to appeal to the younger crowd that doesn't watch this show and never will. At least Conrad understood the audience who watched the show. I didn't like everyone he picked, but there was usually someone to root for.  Now, just no...

So happy to hear that Anna's back, but sad about the dance partner she's stuck with. Same with Louis. It's definitely an eclectic mess this year. I only recognize half the names.

 

I don't recognize anyone but Gary Busey (yuck!), Paula Deen (ugh) and Chaka Khan. Ever since Rob Wade came on board this show has really gone down. I think I'll probably just root for the American hero or Bindi. Poor Anna and Louis...why bring them back to get stuck with hot messes?

About Paula Deen, the show has had plenty of openly homophobic people before (and Hayes Grier is homophobic too so...) so I don't know why people are surprised about a racist person being cast.

Where is everyone getting this news from?  The only people I've seen confirmed so far as Bindi Irwin, Victor Espinoza, Nick Carter and Hayes Grier, and I haven't seen anything at all about who they're partnered with.  But reading here it looks like other have been confirmed, and partners are known.  Is it speculation or have I missed some announcements somewhere along the line?

 

Nothing confirmed yet except the ones you mentioned. E-Online broke the story of Paula Deen and Chaka Khan, but they only quoted "sources." I sure hope they are wrong about Ms. Deen, but unfortunately she seems like the type of contestant they usually go for.

Here's to hoping this is his last season. He and Val are the worst at mugging for the camera and I would really like to keep my eyes, rather than roll them out of my skull. 

 

I agree. I'm just so sick of Val and Derek in every final. They are getting to the point where they just recycle their choreography now because they are running out of material. I would like to see one of the new people like Sasha or Alan get a chance, or give Artem a good partner for once. I guess they think all women drool over Val and Derek and need to see them every season. NOT.

I hear you about Paula Deen. Who wants an idiot racist on dwts? I would think they would have better sense than to include her. If she does get on, that would probably explain what they plan to do with Tony. Yuck.

I think it will be that American Ninja Warrior girl. I could care less about her. I do wish they would get a big name athlete.  An ex-basketball or ex-football player would be nice, or someone from hockey. Wayne Gretzky would be awesome!
