  1. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that footballers’ wives and girlfriends are a big part of pop culture in the UK, and as such Keeley’s nudes leak might be a bigger deal than we in North America might expect - even if she’s not directly connected to Richmond any more. There was a huge scandal involving two footballers’ wives recently that even led to a court case nicknamed Wagatha Christie 😄

  2. He was in Amsterdam; she met him the day that Richmond played a friendly against Ajax. And they did not have sex, although in the next episode she expressed regret to Keeley about that 😄 I also think/hope that she will somehow find him again, or he her, and they will fall in love. At least, I’ve watched and hoped every episode since then that he will reappear 😄

I think Ted’s green matchbook has no more significance than the fact that everyone who was at Sam’s restaurant that night received one.

And I'm going to out myself as having the very unpopular opinion that I hate Hey Jude. It's the British equivalent of Sweet Caroline. I thought the redheaded guy's conversation with the kid was cute but partially because it talked over most of the song. I was roundly shushed when I brought that up to my wife, but none of you know me here, so I can express my unpopular opinion without risk of divorce. :) I'll go stand in my corner now.

I’ll stand in the corner with you. I’m of the opinion that the Beatles have some good songs, but otherwise they are vastly overrated.

  4. Ever notice how many character names are Ja—? We’ve got Jamie, Jake (Dr Jacob), Jade, Jack 🤔 (tbh I just noticed it now myself 😄)

Yes, he is the one who is always critical of Richmond and Ted.  His comment here is the “they’re just on a lucky streak” one.

Also, for anyone here who watches Coronation Street, the actor also plays Stu, Yasmeen’s boyfriend (or whatever TF he is)/housemate/part-time Speed Daal chef 😄

OK. What if Rebecca’s “Did We”…was…did we fall in love.  Because I absolutely think that for one night they did.

    Ooh I like that!

The Dutch are statistically the tallest nation in the world but you're right Rebecca would fit in nicely. HW is 1.8 m that's actually above the average Dutch woman (1.7 m).

Likely why they’re champion speed skaters 😄 That and the canals!

  7. I still laugh at Rebecca’s concern about a “giant Dutch woman” - Hannah W has to be six feet tall at least! 😄 That’s a giant from my five-foot-nothing perspective. I don’t generally mind my lack of height, but there are times when I wish I were a couple inches taller, like when I’m trying to get something off a shelf and I need to employ either a stepstool or a pair of kitchen tongs to attain my objective 😄

That's a great story, the only correction is that it wasn't the queen who gave birth in Ottawa it was the crown princess.

    I stand corrected!

You say that like it's a bad thing. People like this show because of that, not in spite of it.

Honestly, Ted’s triangles vision reminded me of the scene in Ratatouille when Remy tried to help his brother visualize taste - and I loved it. Ratatouille is tied with Wall-E as my favourite Pixar movie.

Brendan Hunt seems like a very nice, intelligent guy (saw him on Celebrity Jeopardy) but I think this episode would have resonated better with more of us if a woman had been asked to at least suggest a few edits.

(Trying this again bc I’ve already posted this twice, but it hasn’t shown up in the thread - weird 🤔)

Okay but, to be fair, we’re not privy to what goes on in the writers’ room. According to IMDb, there were two female writers on this episode (one of whom also plays Bex); they must have had some input into the storylines 🤷🏽‍♀️

Was I the only one expecting Grogu to say something cute? Glad they didn't go that route.

Nope! I thought he might bust out a little “This is the way” when they were at the living waters, but that would have been a little too cute.

These tulips are on Lake Ontario in Rochester NY, not Amsterdam, but it is just a 4 hour drive from Ottawa, and faster if you cut across the lake somehow, like maybe a houseboat:

There used to be a ferry from Toronto to Rochester, but that didn’t last very long. I went there with my fam a few years ago and we visited the toy museum - what a great place!

    (I can’t clear my editor 😫)

How cute was Dani with his one tulip? I hope he got his wish.

There’s a bit of history between Ottawa (capital of 🇨🇦) and the Netherlands as far as tulips go. During WW2, some members of the Dutch royal family took refuge in Canada, and the Dutch queen gave birth to her daughter in an Ottawa hospital (which was temporarily designated Dutch soil so she wouldn’t have Canadian citizenship). Canadian soldiers also played a large role in liberating the Netherlands from the German occupation.

After the war, the Dutch government in their gratitude sent thousands of tulip bulbs to Ottawa, and IIRC they continue to do so every year. The city has an annual tulip festival in May, which started with the original Dutch tulip bulbs, and it’s a sign that spring has finally arrived 🌷🌷🌷

Edit: oops, I was wrong about the hospital being declared Dutch soil. Here’s a Wiki paragraph that explains it: “It is a common misconception that the Canadian government declared the maternity ward to be Dutch territory. That was not necessary, as Canada follows ‘jus soli’, while the Netherlands follows ‘jus sanguinis’. It was sufficient for Canada to disclaim the territory temporarily.” Meaning that “jus soli” citizenship comes from where you’re born, and “jus sanguinis” comes from your parents’ citizenship.

Is everyone not noticing the princess room that Rebecca saw, that is surely a little girl's room that represents his daughter's room from his relationship with his ex?  Not knocked up, but perhaps has found a step-daughter to mother?

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking too. This is why I’m hoping that Hot Dutch Guy (HDG) will discover who Rebecca is and go to London to find her. Alternatively, she could go back to Amsterdam to see him again. I will accept either scenario.

  15. That Dutch boat man? Smoking hot 🥵

I loved this ep. The last two eps have just felt to me like they were running in place, not getting anywhere, but breakthroughs were definitely made here. I floved Ted’s triangles epiphany and Jamie and Roy chasing windmills. And will someone please tell me who was the guy with the ballcap on the wall in the American restaurant? I feel like he’s a musician - Chance the Rapper maybe? I’m not current on what the kids are listening to these days 😄

Fun seeing Brian Gleeson, brother of Domhnall Gleeson as who is presumably a relative of Hux from the recent trilogy

I was annoyed with my husband this morning because I wanted to share this trivia with him, but he couldn’t even remember who Hux was in the movies 😡😄 This is why I love this forum - I know that there’s always people here who appreciate arcane bits of trivia like this!

Did the doctor say Rebecca can’t have children?  I was wondering if he told her she was already pregnant.

Well, we didn’t hear his side of the conversation, but Rebecca’s responses and facial expressions seemed to indicate that her test results (bloodwork, imaging) were not conducive to pregnancy.

I also know he had her served divorce papers on stage, which seems gross, but don't know/don't care to know background for that.

From what I understand, when someone is served papers, it’s not up to the party doing the serving where the service actually happens. That is completely up to the process servers themselves.

As far as Bill Lawrence, IMDb does list him as being an executive producer on this season.

I'm hard of hearing in my right ear and the British accents are super hard to understand, they seem to be at a pitch that's just below my hearing.  So even though I have my volume at 100, I still didn't get that whole conversation (and thought they were rating their sex!!).  Had to come here to find out what was being said and in what context.  Now that I understand it, it's hilarious on the nose that Ted's rating is so high, because of course it is.
