An aside: I first heard of Turkish Delight from reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The titular witch uses it as a way to tempt one of the heroes into betraying the rest. It sounded so good reading about it as a kid, but when I actually tried it as an adult Ii was disappointed because it was NASTY (at least to me). That shiznit would not have made me betray anybody!

Yes! Right down to the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe part!

Amy Aquino, the actress who plays Dr. Raynor, is recognizable from a bunch of things - Bosch, ER, and Picket Fences, just to name a few.

Oh ffs, that’s where I recognize her from! A local independent station just started rerunning ER from the beginning, and “Love’s Labor Lost” was on a couple of weeks ago. Of course, she played the obstetrician in that episode. I knew I’d seen her in something recently.

This was an ugly cry episode for me. I lost my dad in 2019. It is just shocking how gone he was. I touched his face and it wasn’t him anymore. Since I knew my mind would just push away what happened, I took a picture of his corpse in the hospital bed so I would have proof. I thought I was going crazy for the next several months, I felt so lost. 2020 was going to be my recovery back to normal time -ha!

My sympathies ❤️ My dad died last July, so almost exactly seven months ago. When I saw him not long after it happened, I felt the same way - it was him, but he wasn’t there any more. I’m glad I got the chance to see him, though. That’s why I cried at that part of today’s ep.

"What is grief, if not love persevering?"

Wow okay, Vision constantly dropping gems. That hit me hard.

A good Internet and IRL friend of mine wrote something about grief a while ago that gained a little traction online. It was about grief being love with nowhere to go, and it gathers up in the corners of your eyes and in the lump in your throat. I thought of it when Vision said that.

I remember Glenn was very popular on Angel and when he was let go David B who played Angel got a lot of hate saying he was jealous. I always liked him for keeping quiet and after Glenn died I watched the first season again and noticed the four shirts he wore and the stick arms and it was obvious they were trying to keep him even though he was near death from drugs.

I guess I’d forgotten that he’d been let go from the show before his death - in my memory, they wrote Doyle off after he died - but then again I had lost track of the show, and of Buffy, in 2001-2002 after my first child was born. After that I really didn’t have the mental energy to keep up with any shows. I also remember when the actor who played the demon bartender died. That was sad, too - he was a great character.

The musical Buffy episode aired when I was in hospital after having the aforementioned baby; I vaguely remember watching it.

I love this show so fucking much. This episode knocked me out lol. I was literally screaming through the last few minutes and I yelled NO! when the 'Please Stand By' screen appeared. I'm so bummed there's only 3 eps left.

It’s so deceptive when the timer says the ep is 37 minutes long, but there’s five or six minutes of credits!

Maybe the point with Agnes was less that her glitch was weird and more that she took a wrong turn in the town she supposedly grow up in. What if she didn't? There is still someone in witness protection lost in the town after all?

Also, I don't think that Peter had any memories of Pietro. He did the whole fake psychic thing, where people just make general statements and then kind of hit the mark, but not really. Ie the idea that Wanda and Pietro celebrated Halloween as children was extreme odd, since Halloween is an English/American celebration. And I guess Mexican if you count Dias the Muertos as "their" Halloween (which I don't). But this is NOT something people in Europe, especially Eastern Europe (where Sokovia supposedly was located) used to celebrate. People have started to adopted some aspects of it, influenced by American television, but that is a very recent development. Granted, this should simply be a gaffe the writers made. But Peter also didn't answer when Wanda did her test question, he distracted her instead, and Wanda noted that what he mentioned about the past is not quite what she remembered.

My feeling is that these writers don’t do anything by mistake.

  8. Holy sh*t, that was creepy 😳 The cul-de-sac on the edge of town, with the flickering lights and people who couldn’t move, straight-up gave me Stephen King vibes (The Langoliers, if any of you’ve read that).

I’m unfamiliar with the Young Avengers. Are the twins part of that? If so, do they have the same powers here as in the comics?

I had goosebumps when Wanda was expanding the Hex. Also, I almost felt like crying, because she’s so bereft that she will do whatever she can to protect her illusion of Vision and of her perfect world.

    Another outstanding episode!

I'm all for a recast too.  I think Lucy Lawless would be great, but in addition to the other reasons mentioned here, she's about 15 years older than Gina.  She's ageless and could play any role she wants, but I'm not sure there would be much continuity.  I'm sure there's another former-MMA or WWE star out there who can act just as bad - I mean, good - as Gina did and would be a fit for the role.  Maybe one of the Bella sisters?

I’ve been fanwanking recasts in my head today, like I have nothing better to do, and I wondered if Ronda Rousey would be a good fit. I don’t know much about her other than she’s a former MMA fighter - I don’t even know if she’s done any acting.

I thought about Emily Van Camp. She certainly kicks ass as Sharon Carter, and she’s already working for Disney 😄 Also, how about Grace Park? Even though BSG was over 15 years ago, she was great as Sharon/Boomer. Ooh, how about Chloe Bennet? She’d be about the right age for Cara, and I could definitely see her as a former soldier.
