Word. But it was good to see the wonderful Frances Tomelty as the psychic.

Right before I watched this ep on PBS, I saw an episode from season 2 of All Creatures Great and Small that she also guest-starred in - it was on CBC in Canada.

There is an old train trestle in our neighborhood. This is a picture of it. See the sign?

Some derper just hit it. They've been parked at the end of our driveway for about an hour now. They called in another truck to transfer their cargo into but they cant get the doors open.

This actually happened to my husband a few years ago in Ohio, when he was a truck driver. The problem was with the company-installed truck GPS that the drivers were supposed to follow - it often didn’t take low bridges and trestles into account, and if drivers encountered these obstacles it would be very difficult for them to back up and turn around, or take a different route. If the drivers deviated from the route planned by the truck GPS, their dispatch would contact them and ask why they were going a different way!

  3. Those are called scintillating scotoma. I’ve gotten them occasionally for many years now, but they don’t lead to a typical migraine - they just dissipate over the course of 15 or 20 minutes.

I’m trying to paste a Wikipedia link, but it’s not working 😡

I was watching Dune and a character spoke, and I was like, "Hold up, I recognise that voice. Is that...?" Did an IMDB check afterwards and sure enough, it was the guy who played Darren, the very large man chasing Beard in 'Beard After Hours'. Way to make an impression, guy! :D

I didn’t catch him in the movie, but I had seen his name in the credits and recognized it from Beard After Hours. I will just have to see Dune again, I guess 😄

  5. I thought you all might be interested in seeing a spectacular bit of football/soccer by Alphonso Davies of the Canadian men’s national team, playing Panama last night in a qualifier for the World Cup. Davies also plays for the German team Bayern Munich.

  6. I forget the episode, but at one point (I think it was the first game that Roy was an assistant coach), Richmond either scored a goal or won a game. The coaching staff all cheered from the sidelines, and Ted walked right in front of Nate to congratulate Roy, and it was evident by the expression on Nate’s face that he was hurt. So he wasn’t actively seeking Ted’s approval, but you could see that he wished Ted would have paid him some attention as well.

It’s coincidental in a good way that this episode was partially about talking about mental health and sports, considering that Carey Price (star goaltender for hockey’s Montreal Canadians and all-around decent person) is going into the NHL’s player assistance program, even though the reasons are undisclosed.

After Nate stormed off the field and the team went back down to the locker room, I had a sudden feeling that he might have tried to kill himself down there and someone would find him. I was glad to see that not happen!

Pleased that Sam is going to start up a Nigerian restaurant, and that he chose to stay as part of his own personal journey (so he said anyway!).

I just realized that I spelled Canadiens wrong 🤦🏽‍♀️😄

    4. Giles giving the shares back to Rebecca is part of the aforementioned plan to doubt Rebecca's competence and then force either a lawsuit or a shareholders' movement about the direction of the team. It's why he convinced Nate to go to Crimm with the story -- my guess is that the funeral scene was Rupert saying he respects Nate's coaching ability (or just complimenting him), and offering to buy Nate a drink sometime, and then Nate accepting, spilling the story and then Rupert tells him to go public for the good of the club.

I love that you called him Giles at first, then Rupert later, and it’s still clear who you’re talking about 😄

Harriet Walter has been in a great many other shows. I’ve seen her in Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, and The Crown, and I’m fairly sure she’s been in at least one Star Wars movie.

Also, Anthony Head, of course, was Giles the Watcher in BtVS, and before that he was in those tea commercials.

I can’t believe I forgot Jeremy Swift, who played the Dowager Countess’s prissy butler Spratt on Downton Abbey! He’s been a revelation here 😄

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but Roxxcart is just another future incarnation of that perennial MCU warhorse, the Roxxon Corporation, right?

I was just about to mention that.

  12. The three Timekeepers made me think of the three aspects of Fate in various mythologies.

Also - “It’s not your story, Mr. Laufeyson - it never was.” (the judge) Did anyone else take that as a subtle nod/wink to the fact that, up till now, Loki hasn’t had his own story, either series or movie, in the MCU?

  13. Re Tara Strong (Miss Minutes) - in addition to the DCEU, it seems like she’s acted in every animated show there is over the years. Her IMDb list has over 500 acting credits! She was also in Powerpuff Girls as Bubbles.

  14. I’m just finishing the first season. I remember wanting to watch it last fall when it was on TVOntario, but didn’t have the time, so I bought it on iTunes.

I want to punch Philip in the nose. What a jerk.
