  1. I guess I'm one of few, but this is my favorite season ever.

    I can't stand watching people squish mice and eat them, eat slugs; let alone watching stupid footage about skinning mice, and whether or not you have to boil some disgusting thing before eating it.

    I've enjoyed watching the contestants this year catch/shoot/trap actual food, in the arctic no less.  While the skinning and disemboweling may be uncomfortable for me to watch, (even in real life the gutting bothered me, but I wouldn't let on ) that's the way it is.  All of our ancestors had to be proficient in these skills, or we wouldn't be here.  We are omnivores after all.  The filming looks like almost everyone harvested berries.

    Both Jordan and Woniya are wonderful and talented folks afaic, and Nathan is still a (?) to me.  At least I don't actively dislike any of them going into the finale.  That's a first.  🤣

    I'd like to think that I won't read your posts about the final episode, because I can't watch till later (yeah.......football), but I know I will.  So three cheers to whoever wins!!

    Because how do you kill a moose and not win?

    ......and a wolverine!

    Haven't been able to watch yet because... football.

    I did catch the last 20 minutes though, and I'd be cool with either Jordan or Woniya.  I could care less about Woniya being a woman.  They have both been absolutely fantastic.  Happy that she got 3 squirrels and Jordan caught a fish.

    I'm glad Barry is gone for selfish reasons. Didn't like him from the word go.

    Nathan is just a (?) to me.  The whole 'no ferro rod' seemed arrogant from the first episode?  But yet here he is in the final three.

    I'll watch later today.  Thanks to everyone who has posted because I know what's going on.  Sort of.

    I believe you are correct about Callie, wasn't she taken out by the med visit?

    I don't think so.  I think she was one of those 'well, I've done everything I wanted to so now I quit' people.  I should really look it up.  😁

    Anyone remember who I'm talking about?

    I think it was Callie(?) on season 3.  It was sort of a sweat lodge/sauna thing.  Didn't she get bit by a spider?  I think someone did.

    They were going to oil fields? I don't remember too much except the plane, the hot air balloon and almost-Chernobyl.

    There was something about a guy who helped them with the runways lights or something, and he said they had to help get gas (or go to the oil fields?) in return.  Then the scene at the beginning of this episode where they took the fuel from the bad guy?, and referenced the 'oil fields'.   All very confusing.  lol

  6. I haven't been able to watch yet because of our football board, but.........Nikki got pulled?  YAY!  So much better than watching her kill herself.  Hopefully she didn't trip and break her leg on the way to the boat.  🤣

    If she chopped it to death with a hatchet would that be okay?

    It wouldn't be okay with me, but I can only speak for myself.

    A fox in the vicinity of camp might be a threat to a food supply, but it wouldn't be a threat to life and limb, as in, it probably couldn't and wouldn't attack man.  If there was an ample food supply (which, admittedly, there isn't on Alone), a fox would be more likely to become a pretty friendly companion of sorts.

    A wolverine, OTOH, is a vicious and nasty tempered kill machine, perfectly capable of killing a man.  He was a threat not only to Jordan's meat supply, but to Jordan himself.  I can't imagine stumbling sleepily out of my shelter at night for a bathroom run with that thing around.

    Just my thoughts.  🙂

    why haven't we visited Nathan?...

    He caught a fish last week, and managed to make even that boring.  Maybe he isn't filming much?   Or maybe he has a year's supply of fish smoked and they're faking us out.  😂

  9. Are there enough words to describe Jordan?  Best. contestant. ever.??  Kills a moose and then kills a wolverine with his hatchet.  Ummmmmmm.  Wow.  I felt sorry that he lost his moose fat.  Quite a loss.  He went to Russia at first to build an orphanage?

    I love Woniya.  I do.  Her reminiscing about her life choices and wanting a child just kinda broke my heart.    A fox stole her rabbit, and so she starts figuring out how to fix that problem with a snare that snatches it out of reach for the fox.  As opposed to.........

    .....Michelle the horrid.   A fox steals her rabbit, so she wants to beat it to death with her fists.  Screw you, Michelle.  I think she is my least favorite woman of all time.  Nikki may be a clueless klutz, but Michelle can go pound sand.

    Barry loses a huge beautiful fish.  His net is nice, and it paid off!

    Nikki -  uh.....oh my.  She can't figure out how to quickly kill the squirrel, and, of course, it bites her and she is bleeding again.  I know it's awful, but one can only take so much and I was horrified that I laughed.  Did she ever kill the poor guy?

    All in all, a great episode.  Can't believe so many are left!

  11. Well, after a dynamite episode last week, this episode just rather pissed me off.

    First off, Michelle?  You just lost me with your dead rabbit puppet show.  You can now go room with Nikki and burn down your shelter together.  Team NOT Nikki and NOT Michelle.

    I loved Woniya's cabin footage.  That was very interesting!

    Nathan got a fish. But......snooze. 😴

    Barry.  Too much Barry!!!  He got a rabbit, but all that footage about the bear, and setting up a way to kill the bear and blah/blah/blah just seems dangerous to me.  Plus, he's just not funny.  I was interested in his 'bear banger' thing.  Is this something they get?  Or what?

    Brady = biggest disappointment in the world.  Here he is, has a food reserve, teaches SERE or whatever and taps because he's bored??  Why didn't he build some cool stuff to help take up his time and make life easier?  It's like when Mike(?) tapped.  Boo.

    Oh well.  Sounds like we'll get some wolverine news next week!

    What kind of animals did your family hunt? Mine hunted deer, and it was always skinned after the body cavity was cleaned out of all organs.

    You are absolutely right!  This bothered me all day, and so I ended up calling my brother and asking him why I have NO memory of skinning and processing.  All I ever remember is the gutting!   After basically making fun of me for about half an hour he said, "The closest we ever got to processing our own game was dropping it off at Sturgis Meat Service.  They did it."  🤣

    Did not feel that bad for Brady and his cramps. Jesus God dude, I know those hurt, but that was some dramatics.

    Well crap.  Now I'm going to have to re-watch.  I thought that was Barry with his stained berry teeth who had the cramps, not Brady.  Yep, just watched again and it was Barry, not Brady with the cramps and air guitar.  I don't like Barry, either.

    ~~~~~~
    Also, I thought it was Jordan, not Nathan, who had the section that was burned.  (and btw, is it bad that I didn't even remember Nathan, Mr No-ferro-rod-for-me until he started tromping around?)
    ~~~~~~

    Also, and maybe some of you can enlighten me, I don't understand why Jordan skinned the moose.  I mean, seriously??  Ours was a hunting family, and nobody ever skinned the animal.  The first thing was gutting the kill (and yes, with a hunting knife and not a little tiny knife and it took maybe 10 minutes?).  Perhaps he was transported back into Siberia when he may have needed the hide.........but that was a waste of time and energy.  Okay, maybe I do understand why he did it, but I'll bet when he watches this back, he'll kinda laugh at himself.  I also understand why he chose that particular tool, but I bet he was frustrated every step of the way when gutting.  Perhaps he never really thought he'd actually harvest a large animal.  But, KUDOS to Jordan.  That was absolutely amazing!!!!!!

    Best episode ever!!!

    or starting something on fire with the candles you were holding with your eyes closed as they flared up, yikes!

    I was positive she was going to burn her eyebrows off!  🤣

    I looked around trying to find out if they still give them air horns, bear spray, flares etc., and everything I found was old.  Way before this season.
