  1. Perhaps the movie mixup was thinking "Super 8" but blurting "8mm"?
  2. For me it was Mindy "Natalie" Cohn from "Facts of Life".
  3. The JBoard post shows the rerun schedule and the Archive marks the first game of Mayim or Ken hosting. It continues with one host or the other until it switches. https://jboard.tv/viewtopic.php?p=379905#p379905 https://j-archive.com/showseason.php?season=38
  4. Read both books and saw both Myrna Loy movies. If someone I know gets startled I still use "six and nine-tenths inches" in always getting a joy to see Clifton Webb's reaction to the son honking the horn while he works on the car.
  5. You are not doing anything wrong; there is just nothing there with the links. As the daily archivist part of my job is to code the clue with proper link tags even though there is no image in the system. The dream is to someday add the images, but that is not something that can be done with a wave of the wand. It's a different process to capture/upload the images and beyond what I do for my part in getting the new games done. On the JBoard I comment about the media clues a lot because they add time to the process. The archivists have access to an OCR (optical character reader) tool that can take a clue's wording as it appears on the show and then copy/paste it in the archive's input system. It's a great time saver to not have to type each word of a clue and all I have to do for each clue is touch-up such as making word(s) uppercase and adding player/host responses and comments. Where the work bogs down is media clues as the OCR can't read the lines of smaller type closed-captioning. That has to be done word by word and and the whole clue usually takes 3-4 parts as it appears as the words are said. It's a start/stop kind of thing that slower than a regular clue entry. I also have to add <> coding tags for a "this" or seen "here" and such. Sometimes it's not as clear where to add the image (or mp3 or mp4) tag and I have to pause to decide the best spot to insert the (non-working) link. Season 18 (2001-2002) does have working links as the head guy captured all of them when the season ran on GSN. Hope that gives a little insight to the dreaded 404s.
  6. Yes, Sing Sing. If the archive has that kind of error the best explanation is usually that I messed up something, which happens with so many moving parts. I'll see posts here at varying times while the quicker way to get my attention is a correction suggestion. Point your cursor at the clue number and click. From there you can submit a correction. It's fixed now, thank you.
  7. If only there was a place to check: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6878 DJ! clue 1 for periplus
  8. For those that missed Alex tap dancing: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jlNZTApYr-B6keiHdtNgBkHWaDMDPSTo/view I posted it on JBoard yesterday: https://jboard.tv/viewtopic.php?p=343134#p343134
  9. Alex was terrific in the three experiences I had to witness him in action. At a contestant test in 1995 Alex was a surprise guest while the tests were graded. He took questions and entertained everyone in the room while we waited for the results. In 2005 I was fortunate enough to be a contestant for the best way to see Alex perform his duties. In 2014 I was an audience member for the taping of the Battle of the Decades 2000s show to see Alex handle the audience questions during breaks. Sad news today though many good memories.
  10. Yes, there is a new episode for 11/3/20. I entered it into the archive about an hour and a half ago: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6858
  11. Yes, Ben in the middle could have won by betting more. With 2800 he had a maximum of 5600 and his 3201 end score was 399 shy of winning the game. Shows without an audience are scheduled to air May 18 - 29 and no shows have been taped since then. The season was originally scheduled to end on July 24th.
  12. That's Jimmy of the Clue Crew and many times in a similar shot you can look for Sarah next to him.
  13. With "Millionaire" gone I have transferred that time gained to archiving the J! episode each morning. Being in the West makes the timing reasonable. I saw the need after two weeks into the season showed little progress with the archiving. You are very welcome and I appreciate your words. Yes, I read here although my regular hangout is jboard.tv.
  14. It may be a day behind though this user does uploads: https://www.dailymotion.com/President_Eisenhower
  15. It's appropriate that Jackie had a "runaway." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Fox
  16. The play is Safe in Hell by Amy Freed. It was FEMALE PLAYWRIGHTS $1600
  17. jboard.tv has a daily thread and any visual for a FJ! clue is always included in the third post. thejeopardyfan.com also has a daily recap that will add the image to go along with the FJ! clue when it occurs as it did on Tuesday. Both sites take advantage of the 9:30am CT airing of the show and have things up before noon Eastern most days with early discussion allowed.
  18. This picture shows one of the player score displays visible to the left of the board. Yes, some contestants spend too much time staring at it instead of concentrating on the game board.
  19. These two sites consistently have the Galapagos Great Escape word in their daily game threads: https://thejeopardyfan.com/ https://jboard.tv/viewforum.php?f=1 I've seen reports from some in the Dallas area whose station showed the Teachers Tournament rerun game instead of the new episode. It seems the airings got reversed from their normal times with old & new running back-to-back.
  20. Don't forget to do the upspeak:
  21. I'm a regular on J!Board and only a casual visitor here, so just saw this now. The artist is Giuseppe Bartolomeo Chiari. During the credits of J! at the end they will acknowledge the source for video clues and images. For this painting it was Superstock that was listed. I found this painting under Google images as well after scrolling down a bit and from there found a source that listed the artist.
  22. Central Avenue was clearly shown, so Panhandle area? ******** Other comments wondered about property taxes? With Prop 13 in effect it could be $500 or lower a year?
  23. I voted 10 for Tape Face, 5 each for Laura Bretan, The Clairvoyants & Jon Dorenbos and 1 for Sofie Dossi. Counting up the first live show performances, semis and the final my tally from when the acts performed is: Sal: 9+1+1=11 (9th to perform then led off the semis and finals) Sofie: 7+9+2=18 Linkin Bridge: 4+5+3=12 Laura Bretan: 12+11+4=27 Clairvoyants: 8+10+5=23 BJC: 9+11+6=26 Tape Face: 9+7+7=23 Viktor: 3+4+8=15 Jon: 7+8+9=24 Grace: 12+9+10=31 Grace has been clearly favored by NBC and the judges plus the USA Today had a half page article about her today. We'll find out tomorrow if America agrees. Watching her performance tonight, I turned on the closed captioning and that helped to figure out exactly what the words were she was singing.
  24. Richard Mason: http://www.j-archive.com/showplayer.php?player_id=3365&highlight=richard+mason would have been the returning champ and he expected to be back to start the season. When it was close to taping time and he had not heard anything he contacted the proper people at the show and found out he was not being invited back. Before Ken Jennings was put in place to begin the season someone else was asked and that person declined as a form of protest against the shoddy treatment given to Richard Mason.
