  1. Even more details about the wedding and the AU aspect of 7.06 at Give Me My Remote.

“The one we’re most focused on [in terms of changes in this other universe] is Beckett,” Amann said. “I think that, without giving away too much, if one thinks about the influence Castle has had in her life in terms of the way she has become more open, in the way she has resolved some of her personal demons, none of that has necessarily happened in this world. The version of Beckett that he is faced with is a little bit harder, a little bit frostier, a little bit, perhaps, more damaged than the Beckett he knows.”

  2. Link to the TVGuide blurb is here.

Prior to reading those quotes from Amann, I didn't fancy myself as being particularly hard to please with regard to the wedding. I'd wanted them to spend more than 45 seconds on it, and I didn't want it to be an off-the-cuff, impromptu affair in the precinct (I figured Scott Paulin's presence was a good sign for the latter), but other than that, I was mostly good.

But reading that they considered a big ceremony and then decided against it, I find myself somewhat wary, and even kind of preemptively wistful. I suddenly realized that I really do want a beautiful ceremony for Castle and Beckett. It doesn't have to be big, but I want it to be special. I want it to feel like a real wedding ceremony and not just a capper to a day of adventure. "Castle's rush to the altar" doesn't sound so great in that regard. But I do think Terri is capable of delivering romantic moments, and I really, really hope she does here. Hopefully the writing staff were properly cognizant of viewers' expectations when making decisions on this moment. They can't please everyone, but I think the characters deserve something wonderful.
