  1. I would think some of Louise's income would contribute the mortgage. And doesn't Harris live there too?  I don't understand why none of these adults can never help Dan pay the bills while they are living in his house!  Then again, I can't wrap my brain around the fact that Dan's been paying on that house for 40+ years!

Why doesn't Mark get free tuition working as a janitor at the college?  If Darlene loses her job, Mark's free tuition goes away even though he's an employee there as well?  I don't understand that.

I agree with the other comments about Dan hosting the DIY classes at the store. It would bring more customers in and he could do it during regular business hours.

I really don't understand these writers...are they that out of touch with the real world that basic common sense storylines are written not making any sense?

Was thinking the same thing, but then I think I heard that Christiansen is no longer a Scientologist? I could hardly recognize Jenna Elfman. I thought it might be her. I know she’s gotten older, her face is awfully plastic smooth.

Unfortunately, she still is.  I just listened to her talk all about how great it is on the Armchair Expert podcast. I'm not into religion at all, but there is no way $cientology is like the other mainstream religions and that's what she was basically saying. It was quite nauseating!

  3. I noticed Jenna Elfman's name in the opening credits, but totally didn't recognize her!  $cientology is doing her no favors!

I liked the Amanda storyline, but wish it would have gone on for a least a few eps.

Like everyone else, I couldn't care less about Ormewood and his personal life.

was once married for 8 years and we never called each other "Husband" and "Wife." Is that the real reason my marriage didn't work?
Just kidding, but has anyone here who's ever been married called their spouse "Husband" or "Wife"???

My husband and I call each other Esposo and Esposa (Spanish for husband and wife) all the time.  That’s how we’re stored in each other’s phones too.  😊  IMO, the bit with Bobby and Athena sounded very robotic and clunky, especially when Bobby said it.  And I don’t ever remember them calling each other husband or wife before so it sounded even weirder.

  5. Again with another bomb related plot.  It's amazing to me how many bombs are planted in NYC and only these 4 agents are able to get to any of the 5 boroughs in a matter of minutes and save the day!

I agree about Maggie taking time off...that child needs some stability and time to get adjusted to her "new" life...not having her guardian run off and risk being killed looking at a bomb.

Hopefully, Isobel will think twice now about flashing her badge to get special treatment.  That kid lost his life because of it!

  6. This show is so stupid...why do I continue to watch it?  UGH!

First, I thought both OA and Maggie got sprayed (at different times) with the Ricin while chasing the suspect, but both were totally fine?

The agents trying to get everyone out of the office building was absolutely ridiculous!  Why not just pull the fire alarm?  OA and Maggie are all over the place trying to find the shut off, and in the meantime, ricin is in the air and the office employees are moving at a snail's pace to exit the building and yet no one is affected?

Now Maggie is an instant mom because the woman she went to Quantico with (and hasn't seen since) decided to give Maggie guardianship of her daughter if something should happen.  Right then, I knew she was going to die.  I would think since her daughter is 6 and she's a single parent in a highly dangerous job, this should have already been taken care of legally instead of asking her over the phone like it was her coffee order.

  7. This ep was beyond horrible!  Luca deserved so much better and you could tell Shemar and Kenny were disappointed in how Luca was being written out.

Glad there's only a few episodes left because I'm hate watching at this point.

  8. This episode was awful!  Can Annie be any more ridiculous?!  If grandma was able to take care of the sick kid, why not call her before Deacon? So stupid! If it’s too much for them to both work, why not hire a nanny part time to get the kids ready and to school, pick up, etc.  Instead, Deacon is going to retire because the writers are lazy and it’s an easy send off.

Luca may or may not survive.  If he does, I’m sure he won’t be able to continue on swat so he’ll move to San Diego to live with the girl and her mom.  Another lazy send off.

Don’t even get me started on Street!

This season is a total joke! It’s a shame because even though it’s a short season, these final episodes could have been something worth watching…but I guess no cared enough to give the fans some closure.

Ormewood was sooo proud of himself for going to grocery store and dropping the kids off at school. Aww, look at him, finally being a parent.

He's the worst!  I would have preferred him blowing up instead of Cricket!

Do people really have trouble understanding Amanda? I saw folks saying that in the forums, so I was trying to pay attention to it tonight, and she didn't seem to me to be speaking quickly. Was it slower today, or do I just have an ear for her voice? I do think her voice is softer than others. I don't know if it's a deliberate character thing or if they just need to mic her better.

Maybe it's because her voice is deep and breathy, yet soft.  When she gets riled up though, I think she speaks faster.  I could understand how it could be difficult to hear her sometimes when all four all going at the same time.  On a vain note, she and Faith always dress so stylish!  They need to give Angie some wardrobe pointers and also tell her shave her arm pits...or at least trim them up!!!

Even though I thought Will held the baby a bit too long while the mother was still conscious, it was a very sweet scene watching him be so emotional.

    speaking of David:

    https://www.cinemablend.com/interviews/the-conners-sara-gilbert-jay-r-ferguson-share-thoughts-johnny-galecki-david-return

Basically just confirming that the situation continues to be what it's been for years. They'd be happy to have Johnny back and would find some way to work David into the show if he wanted to be there, but they "can't drag him out of the woods of Tennessee" where he's busy with his wife and kids

I doubt Johnny Galecki would ever come back.  He doesn’t need the work (unlike everyone else).   Unfortunately, the show made him out to be very unlikeable when he returned previously.  He’s definitely above what this show has become.

  11. I'm out!  I can't even hate watch this show anymore!  I was really hoping something was going to happen to Bailey in the previous episode so she would never been seen or heard from again.

The entire honeymoon plot was beyond stupid and ridiculous! Nolan and Bailey can't leave the island for days, but Harper and Lopez had no problem landing right in the middle of the beach?

Baily is an EMT?  I thought she was a firefighter?

I'm so over Chen and her detective's exam.  She and Bradford have absolutely ZERO chemistry! I hate them as a couple!  I'm glad Aaron and Celina aren't going to be a thing...I like them as friends.

  12. This ep was totally meh! Jackson was so deep in this cult, but Colter shows him a photo of a former dead member and Jackson instantly comes to his senses?! Colter next stop needs to be the Church of $cientology!

I liked the first episode so I hope future eps are more like that but without the one night stand lawyer.

I agree with some of the other comments about the brother taking the rap for the mom killing the dad.  I'm sure the brother wants to tell Colter the truth and that's why the mom told him to block his calls/ignore him.

My list of questions this finale darn well better answer:

    1. Who killed Annie K. and why?
    2. Did a slab avalanche really kill the scientists?
    3. How did Liz’s partner and child die?
    4. Why was Annie’s tongue found at the Tsalal facility?
    5. What did all the “She’s awake!” warnings mean?
    6. What happened to Raymond Clark and why was he having that seizure in Ep 1?
    7. Why the caribou mass suicide?
    8. Folded clothes?
    9. WTF with the rolling oranges?!?

    • The scientists for messing up their work.
    • Yep. With a little help from some pissed off natives with long guns.
    • Car accident. I thought that was answered earlier.
    • Still a mystery.
    • That Clark was driven crazy from guilt and grief.
    • See above.
    • The mine was poisoning the wildlife.
    • The women were cleaners at heart.
    • Like most in the film industry, Issa Lopez really liked The Godfather.

Thank you for these questions and answers.  This season was a total letdown!  It didn't seem at all like a TD series.  I did like the strong female leads and that's the only positive I can say about it.  The biggest negatives (besides being constantly confused right from the beginning) were there were too many plot holes, the dark scenery, a million different plotlines and lastly, flashbacks that seemed like they were added to this final episode at the last minute to tie up a poorly and lazy written story.

  14. This show is still a hate watch for me!  I don't ever remember seeing Hobbs previously, and he acted like this was his first day on the job without any training.  I'm not into the whole season being about the pursuit of one the bad guy who got away...especially because he got away multiple times due to the agents being idiots.  I really wish the show would come up with other plotlines besides bombs.  Almost every single episode is a bomb threat.

  15. Thank you Violet and Green and everyone else for trying to explain what is going on.  One of my issues with this season is there are too many additional characters and too many subplots. It's taking away from the main mystery which I thought was supposed to be the scientists.  I watched the previous seasons over the last few months so they are still fresh in my memory (kind of).  S1 and S3 had "subplots" about their personal lives but those were more of supporting storylines for lack of a better term and I think they helped with the character development, etc. Even S2 (which I didn't think was that great of a season) had more main characters and subplots (VV and his baby making drama, the cop who was gay, CF and his wife/son issues, etc), solving the crime was always the focal point in every single episode.  S5 between figuring out the scientists, we also have to deal with Navarro's sister, Danvers' daughter, the freshmen cop and his wife kicking him out, freshmen cop's dad and his loneliness who is also helping some shady corporation, the protests, the swirly symbol, Navarro's and Danvers past case of killing the guy, the tongue, Navarro and Rose seeing dead people, the night country stuff... It's just too much!

  16. My brain apparently isn't firing on all cylinders because I just can't keep up with what is going on.  Half the time I forget about the scientists, or the tongue, or the swirly symbol, or who the heroin addict is, or why there are so many dead babies, etc.  Is it just me, or is this season just all over the board? I thought about rewatching the previous episodes, but meh.  If someone wants to give a quick summary of what is happening, I would greatly appreciate it!

  17. I’m confused! I know Liz, Navarro, Navarro’s boyfriend and the freshman cop, but once other characters pop up, I don’t know who they are or why they’re important.  Maybe I need to rewatch all 4 eps.

I think there is way too much personal drama interfering with the mystery.
I do like the supernatural aspect but I hope it’s not so over the top that it makes it unbelievable.

  18. I agree with the other posts regarding Mary.  She's growing up in a completely different generation and the writers missed so many opportunities to give her great storylines.  Instead, we get the same weekly dose of Darlene complaining, everyone being broke, etc.  At this point, I'm just hate watching this show and I know I can't be the only one.

  19. I thought this season was good.  Definitely not as awesome as seasons 1 & 2., but way better than season 3 - that was pure garbage.  I bailed on s4 after the first episode.

I’m probably in the minority, but I could have done without most of Munch’s crazy talk and rituals.  He was too over the top.  Also, Indira”s husband could have been eliminated completely.

OK, bear with me. Did I see a scene (hallucination?) of a youngish guy with half of his head missing whispering a word to Danvers?

I don’t think that was a hallucination; I think it was flashback to her military service.

  21. I’m new to True Detective.  Just finished watching the previous 3 seasons within the last month.  I loved S1 and S3! S2 was good, but it seemed like a completely different show.  I’m hoping this season is more in line with 1 & 3.
Jodie Foster is excellent as always! Not sure what her relationship is to all of the other characters she seems to know so I’m a bit confused.  I don’t mind the sci-fi/mystical aspect as long as it’s not too over the top. The one thing I dislike is the darkness.  I understand it’s has to be dark since it’s Alaska, etc, but it’s too dark and it’s difficult to see what’s going on at times.

  22. What happened to stolen Jericho?  I thought Sean said his family a few states over were looking for him so I thought he was still in the house. Did Leanne put him in the tunnel and he burned too?

Dorothy was basically paralyzed a few episodes back, but now she’s able to limp down the street and climb a ladder and walk across a roof during the storm of the century?

I think the show moved way too slow and it could have been condensed down.  There were way too many “filler” episodes and a lot of unnecessary scenes and characters that added nothing to the overall plot.  I could have done without: most of the aunt and uncle drama in S2, Sean’s pastor storyline, all the scenes with the news reporter who was shot, the homeless kids and them becoming Leanne’s disciples, the bed bug chaos and all the parties Sean and Dorothy hosted.  If every episode was paced like the last 3 of the series, it would have been a lot more intriguing and suspenseful, IMO.
