I don't think I was watching GV's Lucky and Maxie when they were together, but IIRC, there were some scenes with JJ's Lucky and Maxie that I liked.  Might have been the pill staring contest s/l.  Something about a lamp, I can't remember.  But for a hot minute it looked like they were testing them. I liked it. 

 

 

I didn't really enjoy GV's Lucky with Maxie but YES! to the lamp scenes with JJ's Lucky and Maxie. I thought they had so much potential and watching this boring relationship with sweet, dim-witted Nathan makes me wish that the Lucky/Maxie pairing had been pursued.

Is this the place where I can bemoan the great romance that never got the chance?  ...  But seriously writers, did you not see the spark the first time Carly saw her first baby daddy on the docks?  Did you not see the Alan/Monica redux potential in all the times they interacted?  Did you not see how hot they were together with their hate sex?  And the number of places they could have hate-sexed around PC?  Did you not see the history they have together and the growth potential they had together?

 

Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?

 

I like LW and I can enjoy her Carly but she's not great at generating chemistry with love interests. The fact that she and SK had instant crackling chemistry and the benefit of Carly/AJ's soapy history was completely unexpected.  The fact that all of that potential was completely wasted so TIIC could pursue the tepid chem generated by RH/LW in a futile attempt to recreate the infinitely superior  Blair/Todd dynamic? One of the most inexplicable, wasteful, painful writing decisions that I've seen on this show

I think BM would would have been much better as Lucky. Helena taking Lucky would make more sense both from a historic viewpoint and in terms of this specific (terrible!!) story line. 

I also think Lucky's absence is glaring and inexplicable while Jason had a legitimate reason to be off-screen

I just can't with Nathan. RP just cannot act. He can't do his job and I resent the fact that we're all supposed to ignore that and not care because he's got nice abs.

I might feel differently if he had amazing chemistry with Maxie or any other character but he doesn't - he's just...there

Because RC is determined to make Plywood into a real boy while ignoring the fact that Carlos has both charisma and chemistry with multiple characters.

It's gonna suck when I'll have to FF Michael bc of Sabrina.

 

They're so incredibly uninteresting together and they're working on some serious anti-chem. If Sabrina absolutely HAS to be on my screen why can't she be in a triangle with Carlos and Nate? I still wouldn't care about her but at least she and Nate would be pretty together and Maxie could find something more interesting to do.

I think a co-head writer who really focused on story structure would be extremely helpful. I think RC does have some good ideas and occasionally he has great soapy moments but his stories don't feel well structured. He seems to write towards a specific pay off point but doesn't do the work to get there in a satisfying soapy way that takes advantage of the strengths of this particular medium.

It's really, really frustrating and it feels sloppy

And somehow, it comes out that Lucky has been kidnapped by Helena/League of Evil or been dragged unwillingly deep undercover in the WSB and is definitely NOT a deadbeat dad, which I know has nothing to do with Robin really, but it is bullshit and still bugs me. I might be the only one.

 

Nope. It bothers me SO much. Helena keeping Lucky hostage/comafied would've made much more sense.

I dont care too much about Michael/Sabrina (he had more chemistry with Rosalie) but I do hope they get together, if only because I would like Carlos freed.

 

I'm all for freeing Carlos but I'd rather stick Nate with Sabrina because I don't care about either of them. I'm actually enjoying Michael and I'd rather see him with Rosalie with whom he has actual chemistry and unfortunate, ridiculous conflict - WHY is she working for Helena?
