  1. Catfin ... I had shingles years ago, and I HAD to get well fast ... my small business depended upon it. I went right from the doctor's office to a health food store and spent a lot of money on everything they recommended. Somehow, someway, between the doctor's prescription and the health food store's suggestions, I was recovered in two weeks. So I always suggest looking at alternatives. Good luck ...

  2. The coolest day in my central Florida forecast is 81 a week from Wednesday. I'm planning to do yardwork that day. Or maybe in the fall.

I'll bring Mr. Boston Butterscotch Schnapps ... you haven't tried it? Oh my,  it's yummy! Great for cool evenings, if we have any!

  3. I believe laughter is the best medicine so I'm suggesting that anyone who is suffering with anything go back and reread the whole wedding thread.. I have been chortling away here by myself with the windows open (I'm in Florida), so now I'm wondering how many neighbors are wondering what I am up to!

I'm going back myself to look at the picture of the sack-dressed folks in boots in the mud. Love it.

  4. I started to watch the hours-long Molly & Luis show, but it was just too much for me. He's worse the second time around, and so is she. I feel so bad for the daughters ... Olivia is due to escape soon, probably within a year ... but Kensley is there for the next 12 years or so. Aarrgh. And I am probably going to watch this horror show, because I'm addicted. Help me, help me!

  5. I have very little family but I am lucky to have found a RV park in Florida that is specifically designed for over-55 singles. Who knew? I have been spending the winter season here for the past five years, so I now have several close friends plus 50+ interesting acquaintances. There is always something to do and everyone is invited to almost everything. It's good to be surrounded by others in similar situations to mine.  I did talk to my daughter up north and received some nice gifts from her. So, on to 2018! Hope it's a good one for you all!

  6. I got these instructions from a friend who said it worked for her. It is so simple, I feel silly passing it on .... but it did seem to work for me. Sit on the edge of your bed, then fling yourself backwards as hard as you can, landing on your right side (if it's your right ear that is involved). Or left if left ear.
There is something inherently silly and childlike about "flinging yourself backwards" ... so not only am I cured by this process, I am also entertained!
By all means, Google the Epley maneuver, and the other variations. Vertigo is such a downer ... I am delighted to be free of it.

  7. Hey, there's this show called Stripped. They take a couple, or three girlfriends, (so far) and take away EVERYTHING they own, leaving them to sleep naked on the floor. Each day they can go to a storage locker 1/2 mile away and take back ONE thing. I watched in On Demand, so I don't even know when or what time it's on, but it's fascinating. And (drum roll!) the people are NOT losers! I love it.

On topic: It is hard to watch people behaving so stupidly, not so much Nicole who seems to be truly stupid, but Molly! how can she be successful in business and totally blind to what Luis is doing to her. I buy the idea that Luis already has a girlfriend in NJ. So sad.

  8. Zoomama ... have you tried the body movements to relieve vertigo? It seems like a weird thing to do, but moving your body around in certain ways seems to dislodge the crystals in your inner ear. I had success with a simple version (compared to the Epley maneuver and others found on the internet), and have been vertigo-free for three weeks!

  9. I'm enjoying this show a lot ... I was afraid it was going to be another Naked Dating, but it's really interesting to see people cope with life without stuff. I'm looking at my own life ... with closets full of clothes I don't wear and shelves full of books I haven't read.

  10. I think that Luis's brother had a long talk with him, making him realize that he was married to a woman who owns a big house, a successful business, and may have other assets. Part of these assets could be Luis's if he just hangs in there for a couple of years. Then his dream of "life in the DR with money" could easily come true.

Back a few pages, someone suggested that when David Pour(MeAnother) was divorced, he hid a bunch of money through Chris's businesses, and so now Chris is handing it out to him, pretending that it's Chris's gift to David. Neither of them can ever admit this without facing legal/tax consequences. This theory makes sense to me, but it is likely? Probably not.

Thanks to the inventor of the name David (Pour) Me Another, which has entertained me ever since I first saw it.

I can't believe I might spend three hours tonight watching the Abominable Toddler and her reluctant suitor.

  11. OneMoreStop ... Your words could be my words! I love this place, these folks, the snark and the kindness. I try to put a word in every few months! I wish to be part of this group of friends, but it usually seems like someone has already said what I was thinking, and so I move on to the next message. I have wondered about HappyFatChick's absence ... hope she returns soon!

  12. I went to a family camp on a NH lake for years and years. An early brochure I saw for the place (maybe 1929?) said For gentile families. Now, the place is full of families of every religion and every skin color, frolicking happily on the beach,, doing the hoky-poky in the rec hall, and singing Kumbayah around the campfire.

No one who knows women from that part of the world would ever suggest  they are oppressed or restricted in their freedoms.

I read recently that in Russia, there are 450 professions that women cannot participate in. Surely that's oppression.

If I were in her shoes, I’d look forward to his death. When he dies she can take his social security surviving spouse monthly check right back to Thailand and live comfortably.

Don't widows have to be 60 to collect Social Security on their husband's account?

  15. I have a fixed trailer in a park in central northern Florida ... but I'm at home in Massachusetts, not planning to go south until Thanksgiving. I hear that there was very little damage (two trees down, one shed roof gone), but the electricity is off. One of my neighbors took a gun to a shelter and ended up spending the night in jail. This is going to make a great story around the campfire this winter.

  16. Arwen: My friend Diane got her three-years-free-of-cancer report today, and my daughter's friend's daughter got her one-year-free report yesterday. So, see, great results are happening for lots of people, and it can happen for you. Arwen's Army is battling for you.

  17. I wonder if Cirie would ever play The Amazing Race? I just love watching her, so I'm hoping she does it. Cirie and Michaela! Or Cirie and Sandra! Or Cirie and that handsome son of hers!
