  1. Wow, the cross talk is awful today due to Nutmeg trying to monopolize the show. She is self-righteous and nasty today. As usual, she is making everything about her feelings and embarrassment as a conservative.

Sunny is still giving her the cold shoulder. Ana is on fire, she is just so awesome.

Joy has  the patience of Job to be able to deal with Nutmeg as a moderator today.

Black Chyna is Wendy’s side door entrance into the K family.

Wendy mixing it up with the Kardashians is very hypocritical, given how she insulted Howard Stern by saying he went Hollywood. I am not saying that the Kardashians are Hollywood but it just seems so weird how Wendy is down with them after she trashed them for so many years.

Sorry Steve and Kayla fans but i think Joey's existence is pointless.

Was it really necessary for Patch and Kayla to cap off their reunion by have a child with the both of them being in their 50s ? Absolutely not

Infact ,its pretty clear that TIIC have no clue what to do with Joey.

When he got SORAS'd ,he was just another generic broody and moody teenager and then him teaming up with Ava Vitale to reunite Steve and Kayla after their contrieved break up also didnt work either .

There Was no difference between Joey and teen Brady and JJ.

What is also annoying is the fact that one of Adrienne's sons is also named Joseph Kiriakis .

Like honestly ,what was the point of Joey 's existence ?

I think that back in 2007 ,instead of Kayla falling pregnant ,it would have been better if it was Stephanie falling pregnant with Jeremy Horton's son .

Afterall we all saw Stephanie going from a race car driver and edgy rebel to a fl00zy wearing mini skirts and dancing on tables and climbing through the sunroof and basically being a fratgirl .

Infact she even bragged to Chelsea that losing her virginity to Jeremy Horton was like giving away her clothes to charity .

Thats how wild she became when Shelley Hennig took over the role from the previous actress.

Plus its blatantly obvious she and Jeremy were not using protection since they were seen doing the nasty next to the lake and inside a shower and jacuzzi . i doubt protection works there so if they dont use it in that setting ,they probably use dont use it in the bedroom .

It Would have been poetic justice for her to fall pregnant as a result of the contrieved wild lifestyle she adopted under Hogan Sheffer's writing .

Plus for dramatic effect ,Stephanie would discover her pregnancy while Jeremy flees Salem as a result of "Touch the Sky " fiasco .

Stephanie would then be forced to be a single mum . plus i think her pregnancy could have caused abit of friction between the Brady's and Horton's .

Perhaps Julie ,the legendary Horton  harpy would start the friction by slamming Stephanie for not taking the initiative to use  protection or birth control pills and for being loose and then Steve steps in and slams Jeremy for thinking with his crown jewels and  and boom , we got ourself a mini feud between the Hortons and Kayla with Maggie and Caroline trying to keep the peace.

It would have been a good lesson to all the young women out there living a reckless lifestyle and it could hsve actually been a decent character development for Stephanie .

Perhaps we could have seen her struggling to raise her son with Kayla and Steve's support.

Plus with Chelsea and Abby heading to varsity ,Stephanie will be stuck in Salem being a single mum with Jeremy nowhere to be seen .

Would have been sweet to see Mike Horton meet his grandson for the first time  when he returned for Alice's funeral in 2010 .

Plus Stephanie's son could have played a meaningful role in Nathan Horton  and Stephanie's relationship. Afterall ,Nathan and Stephanie were hella generic .

Nathan could easily bond with the boy and Stephanie would then kinda fall for Nathan and realise hel be a good dad to her son.

Then that pesky Melanie wants Nathan too and we could have Stephanie shamelessly using her son to manipulate Melanie to back off Nathan by stating that Nathan and her son are becoming father and son and that melanie is evil for trying to take Stephanie's son's potential daddy .

Nathan on the other hand might not reciprocate Stephanie's love for him but Stephanie wants Nathan to love her and be hapoy family with him and her son.

Plus Julie would also push for Nathan being together with Stephanie because it would be better if Stephanie's son's stepdaddy was a Horton rather than a stranger .

I think there could have been more potential there is it was Stephanie rather than Kayla who fell pregnant in 2007 .

I like your ideas. Stephen Nicholls was against Joey being created. He thought that Steve and Kayla should have adopted Philip's son, who they called pocket given the history between the Bradys and Victor. I also hated that they changed Stefanie who was a unique character in her own into a generic heroine after Shelley took over the role.  Ginger Stefanie was amazing and I liked her chemistry with EJ. EJ should have been enchanted with her and not Sami. Sami wanting to be with a Dimera was always out of character for me.

Perhaps adding Rex as Roman's son could have made the Roman/John/Eric dynamic interesting .

With Eric having bonded with John and seeking to know Roman better , all of that could have been easily derailed with Rex in the picture .

Plus Rex had zero parental contact and care while he was Stefano and Rolf's pet project.

Rex would be like an adult infant still learning all about human bonds and i can totally see Rex and Roman becoming extremely close because in a messed up way ,he could have been Roman's second chance at parenting .

I do recall those scenes where Shawn and Belle were teaching Cassie and Rex how to speak and how to behave and how to greet and so on when they landed in Salem as "Aliens" .

Perhaps  they could have  revealed Rex and Cassie  to be Roman's kids from the get-go and have him actually teaching Rex and Cassie what Belle and Shawn taught them ,it would have represented a 2nd chance for him to be a parent and bond with  his kids.

Sami would have been utterly hostile to the Gemini twins no doubt seeing how much Roman pays attention to them and how close he is getting to them .

I think something along those lines could have been used .

I do agree that Eric relying on John for advice and emotional support would have been feasible because John raised him and knows him better than Roman does . But on the other hand Eric kinda feels that he is expected or obligated to have the same bond and relationship with Roman but might struggle to establish a somekind of connection with Roman .

John should have remained Roman.  I think that is when the show jumped the shark, in my opinion.  John and Roman were both damaged beyond repair after the tale of two Romans. Dee should never had demanded the writers bring back her friend Wayne as Roman.

Also, I have always wanted Carly to have been a villainess. She and Lawrence were dynamite together. It should have been revealed that she was using a vulnerable Bo who is grieving Hope, to get close the Kiriakis money after having lost her fortune.  Once she realized that Bo wanted nothing to do with that. She could have set her sights on Victor.  Perhaps Bo could have saved Victor from her. drawing Victor and Bo closer together irritating Shawn.  I did love Bo and Carly version 1 but Lawrence and Carly had potent chemistry.  An evil duo wreaking havoc in Salem who are not Dimeras could have been great.

Victor trying to kill Bo for Carly was so out of character for me. I hated that story with a passion. Victor was so delusional regarding Carly, it made him look like a weak fool.

Eric Winter ,who played Rex had fantastic chemistry with Grandpa Shawn , Lauren Koslow and Josh Taylor so Rex can remain a Brady .

The show never explored the Eric/Roman relationship and it could have been a story that involved John as his other father. John as Roman raised Eric. I felt that adding another son for Roman was redundant.

Plus Alexis had chemistry will all the young males actors  like Jason Cook and Kyle Brandt plus scorching chemistry with Bryan Datillo. Why they made her a Brady and Kate's daughter made zero sense because it limited her romantic prospects because she was now related to half of Salem .

Cassie and Lucas would have been a great couple and could have given Lucas a great love outside of Lumi.

I dont think him being Tony and Anna's son woudd have been necessary since Tony was not Stefano's biological son.

As a Tony/Anna fan, I always wanted them to have another son. They lost their son due to Renee's evil machinations. I could see Anna getting pregnant again and Stefano taking the baby away from her.  Plus, even if James Scott was a Dimera, he could have been Stefano's nephew. Stefano did have 6 older brothers that the show could have brought on the show. The Tony/Stefano relationship was the most complex out of all the kids that Stefano had. Stefano never cared about blood, he raised Kristen and Peter. They were never less than his biological children.

Time to vent some more. The show has pissed me off so many times this past decade that i could single handedly easily fill this particular thread with my rants .

I enjoy your rants because they are so true. The show has squandered so many opportunities for great stories. I am pissed we were not given a great story about Marlena's missing years. She was a brood made for the gemini twins, yuck!

Cassie and Rex should have been Orpheus' children that Marlena was forced to raise when Orpheus kidnapped her and faked her death. The same goes for Hope's missing years, Steve's and Will's. I also hated that Hope and Steve were held captive by Stefano.  Hope was killed by Ernesto and Steve was killed by Lawrence. Susan would never have kept Will away from Jarlena. EJ should have been Tony and Anna's son who was raised by Stefano. Chad should have been Susan's EJ, it would have made him Will's peer and we would have been spared that stupid SORAS.

Exactly. Rex was depicted as an intelligent man with a high IQ during his first stint .

He even conducted his own DNA test on himself when he found out that Roman was his biological father.

On top of that ,Rex even invented a machine which was supposed to convert rocks or coal into diamonds but it caused an earth quake in Salem .

Rex was a horndog sure but he was very faithful to Mimi and they had more sex scenes than Bo /Hope and John/Marlena combined .

But no Carlivati clearly has no clue about Rex's backstory and mannerisms and personality .

He just had to turn him into an idiotic frat-boy who screws anything that moves which does not even make sense . Okay ,Rex screwing Mimi a decade after a break up ? I could buy that since Mimi was Rex's first love and he loved her with all his heart.

But Rex screwing Noelle Curtis and other women for the hell of it ? Crap and ridiculous !!!!

On top of that , TIIC chose to insult our intelligence by casting Lynsey Godfrey as Sarah .

Sarah left Salem as a 17 year old back in 1991 and then she returns roughly 28 years later portrayed by an actress born in 1988.

    What utter horsesh!t

They should have cast either Sarah Joy Brown or Melissa Archer as Sarah Horton .

Lynsey should have been cast as Stephanie Johnson .

Rafael you should write for this show. Your knowledge of the show's history with your casting ideas for characters is just amazing.. I would love to see  how you would write for Kim, Shane and their kids. I hate what the show did to Theresa and the other legacy children.

    First time posting here....

I am so fed up with Whoopie's statement,  "We are all immigrants here in the USA and only indigenous people are not."  She obviously can't tell the difference between the term immigrant and ancestor.

If you're BORN in the USA, you are not an immigrant of the USA.  My grandparents emigrated from Europe in the 1920's (my mom in 1950).  My ancestors were immigrants, not me.  I was born in South Carolina. The only place  from which I emigrated  was from inside my mother's body to outside my mother's body.

    Very short trip.

I have no problem with what Whoopie said about we are all immigrants here. You are also correct in your post but you have to remember that people of color are constantly told they don't belong here and therefore should not enjoy the benefits of being American citizen. What constitutes who is a citizen goes back to slavery when Black people were three fifth of a person and were not given citizenship. The 14th amendment gave Black people citizenship and it also gave you citizenship as well who is a descendant of European immigrants.

How is it that nobody on that panel had heard of the Fairness Doctrine? It was a policy introduced in 1949 and enforced by the FCC that required any controversial issue of public importance have both sides heard from. It was revoked in 1987 by the Reagan administration.  Joy and Whoopi should have known this. I'm the same age as Sunny and I know this.

Thanks for bringing that up. Joy should have brought that up and counter Whoopie's nonsensical rant about fairness. I get tired of the panel acting like Whoopie is so knowledgeable about subjects she knows nothing about.

Sunny continual shading of Nutmeg is giving me life. Megan's soliloquy about the state of her party left me cold. Even when she makes sense, I just can't side with her.

Deimos was completely unnecessary and so was Xander.

The Kiriakis clan sure as hell did not need another male character .

The Kiriakis clan already had Victor ,Justin ,Philip,Alexander,Joseph,Victor II ,Sonny and to some degree ,Brady .

Lets not forget about Bo and Shawn being biological Kiriakis men as well.

I feel that Paul Telfer should have been cast as Victor Kiriakis II and his twin bro ,Joseph Kiriakis.

Both are Justin and Adrienne's adopted twin sons .

Chronologically , Alexander and the twins were born onscreen roughly 10 years before Philip's onscreen birth .

So they could have easily SORAS'd Victor II and Joseph by readjusting their year of birth to 1984 .

Paul Telfer  is not that old and could have easily been  passed off as two 30 year old twins back in 2015 .

Telfer would have had more staying power playing Victor II and Joseph . Victor II 's personality could have been like Xander while Joseph is easy going and abit of a clown .

Victor II could have been in cahoots with Big Victor and doing all those illegal businesses Xander conducted on behalf of Victor .

Would have been far more dramatic since Adrienne and Justin took their 3 older kids and left Salem to get away from Victor's influence .

Unfortunately , one of their 4 sons is totally under Victor's influence.

Plus Alexander ,Sonny and the twins returned to Salem offscreen back in 2007 and Adrienne told Kayla that the boys are visiting Victor and they were at Salem High for the rest of the year before leaving for Dubai at the beginning of 2008.

They could have shown a flashback where Victor II ,worried about his place in the Kiriakis clan due to the fact that he is adopted , simply asks Victor to join the "real" family business in order to prove himself . Victor would refuse and the boy would actually keep on insisting until Victor gives in and implores Victor II not to tell Justin and Adrienne .

They could still keep the backstory of Xander knowing Eric from their days in Africa.

Victor II should have been the pariah of the Kiriakis clan ,while Alexander is the charismatic golden boy , Joseph being the clown and Sonny being the peacemaker and voice of reason .

It would have been ironic and amusing seeing Victor II adopting the behaviour of his namesake . and that Victor II 's actions are motivated by his insecurity at being adopted and not being a biological Kiriakis .

This is the story that I have always wanted for the Kiriakis clan. The show has such a rich history and they refuse to use it to give us great stories. Anjelica should be a part of your story manipulating Victor Jr against Adrienne because of Alexander. Also, I think the Kiriakis twins were fraternal twins. Their biological mother JJ could come back to help Adrienne deal with Victor Jr.

I think the problem with Shelle at the time, much like Chabby when they left was they had been played so heavily for so long people were just sick of them. I remember Martha saying in SOD that she was very aware of the audience getting tired of seeing Shelle on that island back in 2007.  They needed a break.  I think the main reason they haven't come back for very long is that most in charge still have a preference for Kirsten and Jason.  That and like Carrie and Austin every time they bring them back they play the same old story.

Also,  I think they married Shelle and gave them a baby too soon.  They should have had dynamic stories before going that route.   People said the same thing about Wilson.

The show has always had a problem in balancing stories and couples like back in the day. Even if you were not a fan of a particular couple, they usually had a way of having different couples to appeal to everybody..

I’ve heard those rumors. I loved Aisha. I probably didn’t notice Sharon’s nastiness because it wasn’t to the degree of Meghan’s. I also enjoyed Holly and Leah in the clips I’ve seen. I was stunned they were let go. They were incredibly funny. It’s shame Sharon had a problem with any of them, but I’m glad the current cast gels so well.

I didn’t know that about Bill Geddie either. I wish The View returned to its early seasons. If I want to watch the Real Housewives, I’ll turn it on Bravo. I don’t need Meghan bringing that or a Fox News vibe to The View. Sounds like while The Talk becomes more positive, The View becomes more negative.

Exactly, I think the big difference is that the women of the talk are in control of that show. Bill Geddie used to always encourage the ladies to make sparks and would use his protegee Elizabeth to make sparks in her debates with Rosie, he brought an unhealthy vibe to the show that translated into ratings. In the short run, the suits made lots of money but in the long-term, it damaged Barbara's vision of women of different stages in life getting together to chat and support one another.

Oh I saw that show and forgot Joy used the word lovefest! I adore Joy too. I don't think she meant to mock The Talk hosts or fans of the show. I think she was just saying don't watch The View for the warm fuzzies, not happening guys. That's what I hope anyway-that it was just a bad joke and Joy didn't intend to be mean. Comedians are always looking for a punch line, and sometimes even the wittiest slip. I understand what you mean though. I was shocked she said that. Because it was flippant and almost under her breath, I choose to believe there was nothing malicious there.

Even with MM out of the equation, The View seems to have a history of tension at some level. Whoopi also shoots dirty looks at Sunny. The Talk is a group of women you'd want to go out for drinks with after work. Sharon can be outrageous (like what she said about her daughter walking in on Ozzy doing to her), but since I've been a regular viewer of the show, she is respectful of all of them-Sara, Eve, Carrie Ann, and Sheryl. The rest of the women are all so lovely. If Joy does look at the camaraderie as cheesy, then I'm just as disappointed as you. I mostly like The View for the political talk, Joy, and Sunny. When I watch The Talk or even The Real, I feel like I could be friends with the women, and I enjoy the girl chat so much matter-no dirty looks, scowls or anyone being disrespectful.

Sharon was nasty to Aisha, she threw shade and would roll her eyes but it was never on the same level as Megan's daily temper tantrums.  Plus, Aisha never let her rattle her.  Sharon was intimidated by Aisha's intelligence just like Whoopie is with Sunny on the view. Sharon also orchestrated the firing of Leah and Holly from the first season.

I do get what you are saying in that there is a certain malevolence with the view and that started when Barbara Walters ceded control of the show to Bill Geddie. The view became a bitch fest after that, it used to be more like the talk during the early seasons; girlfriends having coffee while discussing topics both light and heavy.  I remember Meredith used to have a paper and she would read something from it and the ladies would discussed, giving their views. It was more natural that way.. If they discussed politics, it was never right versus left.

After Megan called Joy a bitch, they went to break, the producers told the ladies to play nice. When they came back from the break, Megan said that she and Joy always called each other bitches and that we the audience were snowflakes that needed to toughen up. Joy who I adored, disappointed me said we should watch the talk if we wanted to see a lovefest. It was unnecessary and mean.  Joy did not have to go along with that degenerate Megan.

I agree with you. What do you think about Serayah's (Tiana) acting? And do you think she will have steady work as an actress after Empire is over? The reason I ask this is because I think Serayah is a good actress, and she's only had two other acting roles besides Empire and Tiana. But the majority of comments I read on YouTube (of all places,) is that she can't act. What do you think?

She is a hit and miss. I think she is charismatic, beautiful with potential. If she invests in acting classes and studies her craft, she may have a future. I could see Lee Daniels working with her again. He hired Gabourey, put her on Empire after having worked with her on Precious.

Just had to add something to the Meghan Markle discussion....Prince Harry is known to avoid the usual royalty traditions, as he will never be the King. It's only natural that he would want to protect his family from the aggressive British media. He most likely  knows how they hounded his poor mother, Diana, like a pack of wild beasts. What really amazes me is how the Brits now accept Camilla Parker Bowles, but relentlessly find fault with everything Meghan does. Is it because she's a bi-racial American woman???? I kinda feel sorry for her and Harry.

I saw a  vile picture of Megan Markle with her face darkened and features deformed to look like a monkey with a caption that said, this is what is marrying into the Royal family.. The British Press hates that a Black woman has married into the family..

Harry and his brother hate the press for tormenting their mom and causing her death in Paris..
