Dorit is playing this like a fiddle. She knows how things went last year, and saw what happened to the mean girls! She’s the best actress of them all, I even like her this season....and I loathed her and her fake accent!

Yeah, I think Dorit is one of the ones navigating this best. She's giving us the ridiculousness of looks while also managing to get through this Denise stuff fairly unscathed. Her telling Denise to stop saying Bravo and basically asserting it's out there so you make your moment NOW a couple episodes ago was some of her best work on the show.

  2. Jeffrey Boyer Chapman critiquing anybody in that terrible makeup job is hilarious as it is insane. I enjoyed everybody cackling at Ilona and Scarlett fussing with each other because it had the energy of two siblings in the back of the family van (tm Vicki Gunvalson) picking at it each other. I also cackled at how Jimbo was like I WELCOME OUTSIDE OPINIONS to the girls and then like immediately went the fuck in on Rita for giving a critique.

  3. This Denise/Brandi storyline would be a lot more entertaining if someone was good at their job/role. Like if people were better schemers and more smooth with their machinations OR if Denise was better at having her wits about her when confronted. But since both sides are equally fumbling this storyline and have put human wet blanket Teddi at the center of this again along with low rent Georgina Sparks Brandi, none of this is paying off. Like Lisa Rinna is an absolute monster and a terrible friend but at least is giving an almost operatic performance of this and I like Garcelle's contributions to it. The rest of the women need to like either embrace being Mean Girls fully and not complain or stop making this whole thing central to the show.

I also didn’t really get Jeffrey’s “welcome to the competition, girl” for Jimbo.  It was news to me that the queen who’s been in the top 4/6 weeks wasn’t into it yet.  I’ve been charmed by him before as himself, but whatever character he’s playing now isn’t working.  I vote he be removed from the panel and fed to Stacey.

Jeffrey's "Welcome to the competition, girl" made no sense since Jimbo literally just won Snatch Game last week and has been doing well for most of the competition. I used to be annoyed but now I'm like actively anticipating what thing he'll say each episode to piss off the internet.

Yes, that's what I thought too, except it doesn't always work, or it's not working this season because Ramona did the same shit during her birthday party, when drunken Sonja was dancing on a table and smashing a mirrored tray into shards, Ramona was hissing at the cameraman, "SHUT IT DOWN RIGHT NOW OR I'LL FUCKING QUIT THE SHOW RIGHT NOW!" And they aired that this week too, so it seems like it's not working as a strategy right now.

It must have obviously worked in the past BUT given the way Bravo seems to have no problem cutting ties with OGs, they all probably need to learn not to do it. And also that their tantrums about being on the show are now fair game. Across all the franchises, there is a level of fourth wall breaking that usually was limited to the reunion.

I don't think Shea was undeserving of the win, but I would have preferred Juju or Cracker instead.

I agree that it seemed like Shea felt she should have won her season and would have if not for the rose petals.  It just rubs me the wrong way (same as Richard Blais, mr. "I was supposed to win season 4 of top chef").  It takes away from the winner of that season and while she was one of the top queens of the season, I felt that Sasha was the frontrunner of the season.

Everyone on this all stars season had lost their original season (and in Alexis and Juju's cases, multiple seasons).  So why was it so much worse for her to have lost than everyone else?

Shea won four challenges on her season so I don't know how she was not the front runner of the season. Like you can prefer one of the other folks to her for a variety of reasons but just on like track record alone, she was legit the front runner of the show. Her loss was a lot more shocking compared to say Jujubee or Alexis. Jujubee hadn't won a challenge on her season and Alexis was on Raja's season, who pretty much won the moment she walked through the door. Shea's loss showed that getting to the finale no longer guaranteed your win because the finale took such huge importance. And it would be argued that season 10 and 11 suffered from that because girls took the wrong lessons away from the Sasha/Shea lip sync because yes Sasha had roses/surprise, but ruveals are nothing if they aren't part of a large lip sync narrative. That's why Sasha beat Shea. The roses helped tell a dynamic lip sync story.

  7. I know people seem to dislike Shea talking about the rose petals but seem to act like she just came up with this topic. They all have story producers and clearly people are asking her about it in the talking heads so if people have that much of a problem, that's a production issue.

And I get why she would be super devastated by it. Up to that point, she would've won her season going into the finale. But the rose petals permanently altered the course of Drag Race.

  8. I've enjoyed Stacey prior to this episode but this episode really highlighted how much fun she is when she's let loose with the contestants. Jeffrey Boyer Chapman continues to not be good at judging because he seems to have watched to many compilations of Naomi Campbell on The Face and Michael Kors on Project Runway and missed the part that they can get away with their bitchy because they have the expertise in their industry to do so. Like do I agree with everything Brooke Lynn says? No. But it coming from someone who has literally done this competition before at least makes it feel like it's coming from a knowledgeable place.

  9. Priyanka talking about how they've all suffered from a mooseknuckle and then gesturing at Jeffrey Boyer Chapman's crotch made me scream with laughter, I had to rewind it multiple times. Both this and Drag Race UK has such a welcome irreverence that is sorely lacking from the US version.

  10. I have been watching reruns of the ID show Obsessions: Dark Desires and it sometimes reaches places of unintentional dark comedy with some of the truly bizarre choices the victims on the show make. The episode  where a woman develops an entire relationship with a man online without ever speaking to him and going to meet in person and having her baby stolen not once BUT TWICE by the same scammer was so wild. Like I don't know whether to laugh at the sheer insanity or cry over someone who clearly was so desperate for affection that they overlooked any red flag of danger.
