I mean making your mother cash in her retirement to pay for your legal fees but still have money to pay for a "glam" squad .... Girl I just shook my head

I don't for a second believe that Jen's mother actually did that. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something they just said on camera to garner sympathy from the public.

  2. I think not acknowledging that these women are on a TV show together is creating some truly bizarre storylines. Like this idea that Mary and Meredith weren't on that bus indicates that they knew something was up because only the women and their family knew about the trip is so dumb because lots of people would have to know about the trip with all the cast, crew, the places that you were going to be filming at because you'd have to get permission and whatnot.

It's also so wild to watch a group of women have a collective abusive relationship with Jen. Like she gets drunk, yells and gets physical and is punished by (check notes) getting the best room? I will give them a smidge of credit that they are more confrontational with Jen than their RHOBH counterparts were with Erika but that's not saying much. You'd think that someone would be savvy enough to know which ways the winds were blowing and know that being anti-Jen is the way to go. Meredith is almost there but she also doesn't want to engage, which does not work on a reality show.

  3. Did anyone else feel like this episode had an All Stars energy? Maybe because of the talent show. But also because of how invested RuPaul felt in the girls as well as the chemistry among the contestants had such a rapport that it just had a different more fun energy. Kornbread is going to be a confessionals legend like Katya, Alaska, Mariah, Kennedy, Ra'Jah

  4. I thought it was weird how they didn't really discuss that every Housewives reunion has a color theme of some sort. So like GIzelle and Karen's outfits would never be on the same reunion because they would be too dissimilar in terms of color story. It would've made more sense if each city had pre-determined color parameters because that's one of the real restraints.

I did find it hilarious when Gina was talking to the designers outside, and was all, "Wait, is smoking back? Why are you two smoking?'

  5. I did not enjoy Meg at all but one thing I thought was weird was Christian telling her back at the design studio that he thought the color palette was boring essentially. Like yes, telling her at MOOD made sense because she could change her mind and switch fabric. But once you're back at the place, cutting and designing, how helpful is that critique at all. I think that added to how rattling.

I thought the overall, the argument really crystalized how things can spiral out of control with people and their various privileges (being a man vs. being a woman, black vs. white, etc.) go sort of unchecked and left to chaos.

Heather is crazy wanting her kid to go to college and be "wild". Seriously, any college kid doesn't need to be told that. They will make up their own mind and hopefully do what's right. They can have fun and not go out of their minds crazy which is what is sounds like what Heather wants for her kids because she didn't have the chance when she was young. How stupid of her to suggest that. I liked Heather last season but her repeatedly going back to Jen's abuse, then this advice makes me think she has a couple of screws loose herself!

Heather and her kid are giving me Eddy Monsoon and Saffy from AbFab vibes in the way Heather is desperate for her daughter to be wild lol

The only major eye roll moment for me was in the first episode when the parents were complaining during their business manager's presentation about how there was no time for Charli to just be a kid.  While that concern is completely legitimate, that is under their control.  Presumably they hired the business manager to create business opportunities and make millions of dollars for them.  Don't be surprised when he does just that.  If they are concerned about the schedule, they need to be willing to say no to certain opportunities (which means losing money).

It's hard to take the "Where's the time for Charli to be a kid" seriously when you're saying this while you're currently filming a reality show

  8. I feel like Heather's chief reason for reconciling with Jen Shah is because it makes for a good storyline. It feels way too manufactured and calculated, especially when you pair it with her talking heads that seem like they are at 180 degree difference when it comes to Jen. The fan favorite status had already gotten to her head by the reunion and two months out from the reunion does not seem to have brought Heather back to earth.

We fast forwarded to the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic (or at least to the point where cocktails were available in the U.S.) but Pray's death was told in slow motion.  Clearly they tried to do justice to/celebrate the characters and the stories this season, but the rushing to end the show because a new pandemic shut them down really cost the narrative a great deal and didn't allow the show to really build up to and earn something the way it could have if we got 4-5 seasons that were written as tightly as S1.  I just wanted more.

Yeah, the obvious fucked up production had its hands all over this season but they also just made bizarre choices. Blanca getting that letter from Damon just made the creative choices at the beginning of the season make less sense. Like he became a drunk AND recovered between seasons just for him to relapse off screen and then seemingly I guess recover again and open three dance studios? Like wouldn't it have just been easier to have Googled a tour happening at the time period and have him be a dancer on it? Especially if you're going to give him a last second happening ending?

This final season was a disservice to all that came before; pure fantasy and farce. The saddest part of the final episode was not Pray’s death, but the ladies’ lunch. The characters made it quite clear they were no longer a family but had each gone their separate ways, not even keeping close touch. So sad.

For a season built on a lot of fantasy, I liked that touch of realism of them breaking off into different directions. The ballroom scene held them together and when they each left, they parted ways with no malice. It's like when you have these intense friendships in college and you graduate and move on and you stay in contact here and there but do not have that central hub of activity tying you together.

Elektra is making money in webcamming now?  I remember what the internet was like in 1998.  It wasn't very fast.  I know the technology existed but was webcamming really a thing that could be commercialized back then?

Honestly, it would've made more sense if Elektra Abundance had gone into directing porn or something, like a ChiChi LaRue-esque character. She could even make a joke about how she's been directing men how to fuck all her life so might as well do it front of a camera.

I get the reference they were making to Diana Ross's Central Park concert being rained out and whatnot, but I wish they had chosen to do her song "The Boss" or even "Love Hangover" since they used that song a bunch in Paris is Burning a lot.

So now she's living life in open, outrageous extravagance, and meeting with the mafiosos in her home, and arranging for the dress heist - which would be so easy to tie back to her?

I would say this is hugely stupid but not out of the bounds of reality given how Teresa Guidice went on national TV flaunting all the cash she had while doing illegal stuff lol
