  1. So, I actually appreciated Jason's "so funny I forgot to laugh" comment because it showed some personality. All season I have struggled to get a read on him, and when he threw out that dated joke, I was finally like, "ohhhh, you're THAT guy." And then the scarf he is wearing in the scene-opening photo of him and Cassia made total sense. Daya has the force of someone who is not going to take shit from anyone, but she just isn't that person... She's far more passive than she seems. I wanted her to confront Mama Brett when she overheard her talking to Brett, but she stayed in her room, just needing space from the situation. IIRC she didn't challenge Brett's racist BFF either at that awkward BBQ. Cassia, on the other hand, would likely have gone off on both women. Also, Brett, I get that you need to work this out with your mom, but in addition to not having the conversation within earshot of your fiancée, maybe don't have it in the same room as your daughter, who is certainly old enough to understand.
  2. Keith's performance at tribal is why I can't fault Jon for not playing the idol. If something was afoot, it's reasonable to think that Keith would give it away, and in an alliance of 5 it's the next vote where having the idol is even more critical. Not sure I can support Keith winning, but man, he made me proud at that TC.
  3. I found myself agreeing with Danielle when she told Mo how shitty and unfair it was for him to have visited a lawyer on the DAY of their wedding to discuss whether or not marrying her made sense. At least go the day before, dick. It's not like she wasn't this intolerable yesterday. Her behind-closed-doors change in voice and attitude sounded to me just like she was angry, and not unjustifiably so. Agreeing with Dani has made me feel all confused and grotty so I'm going to go now, with a quick salute to Chelsea's mom, doing her passive-aggressive damndest to convince her adult daughter to get the hell out.
  4. At first, my heart swelled with pride watching Dani's reveal of her job loss to Mo. She wasn't blubbering (as much), speaking in her strange little girl voice (as much), or, most shockingly, physically restraining him from moving. But as I thought about it (and I spent way too much time thinking about it), the whole thing really disturbed me. She didn't so much tell him she lost her job as allow him to find out, the way a child expecting a bad report card might. And while he read it she just sat there as if waiting to be punished, knowing the punishment would come and it would be severe. I'm probably not expressing this right, and it's not my place to speculate on her history, but there seems to be something to speculate about. And it just made me sad, and not in a fun way. So I may just skip their scenes from here on out while hoping for a Daya-Sue showdown. Team Daya!
  5. Not to defend Danny's brother, who entered, uninvited, the room of a young woman whom he'd never met and who was asleep at the time (what better way to let her know that it's his house and she doesn't belong there), but it sounded like he asked her to say something in Afrikaans, not "African." So maybe he's less ignorant than just thoughtless and rude, which seems to be a defining characteristic of that family.
