One of the main themes of TWD is that Rick & his friends would approach a settlement like Woodbury or Alexandria or the farm & end up destroying them. Sure, there were a valid reason for killing the Governor, but Alexandria was like a mini Commonwealth when Rick arrived.

I.e, "You people are the plague", one of the best quotes of the whole series.

I hated the design of the other girl on the cool team who worked with the plus size model and preferred the eliminated design. As a fat girl myself, I thought her design was something you could go into Nordstrom and buy right now. She also seems like she's going to be A LOT.

I was sure that was going to be the eliminated design for that very reason.  It's not just a plus-size style, that dress has been on the racks since the 80s.  There's nothing new about it.

Bones's jumpsuit to me looked cheap and made it look like the models boobs were down to her navel.

Well, one of her boobs was.... sort of... it was also sort of pointing sideways.  The other was in a different direction entirely.  That top was just a boob mess.  The idea was great.  She was plus-sized, but only moderately plus-sized  That, and proportion, helps the designers a lot when they're dressing the larger models.  Especially for the Eyes of Nina.

The pale pink pantsuit was so awful I was surprised to see it.

I wanted to like it.  But the weird folded ragged lapel was a disaster.

  3. Since we're all aired up, I'll mention the horse outside spoiler tags.  I also found it touching.  Carol wasn't unaffected.  And it wasn't kill porn.

I was shocked by something (for once, of late) then realized immediately that I shouldn't have been.  Carol made the hard choice and the right choice.  Priority one:  Feed the kids.

I liked the kids' conversations, too.

but you'd think that after ten years of this our heroes might have learn't from their mistakes and stopped getting themselves into these scrapes.

    (....and everything else you said)

I spent this entire episode just shaking my head.  "Are you people NEW?"

Not only the military base.  When has entering a dark space where they can't see the exit EVER worked out?

Come to think of it, am *I* new?  I actually had hope that this season might return us to the glory days.  Oh, sometimes I am that sweet summer child....

  5. Well, for once I didn't hate a throuple.  I usually feel like the main reason throuples on TV are in it is for the attention.  "Look at us!  We're so different and special and YES!  THREE!  Don't you want to disapprove and SPECULATE?"

Loved the dress that looked like it had little leaves on it, found the other one kind of meh.

I guess the take away, if there is one, is that this stuff doesn’t work unless there are pretty rigid rules and structure and most of society today doesn’t work that way.

I feel like it could work if everybody was honestly on the same page and no one is a self-involved, narcissistic douchey ass.  Instead we see Sidian, Garrick, and Dimitri, poster boys for the Tool set.

  7. Eh... I didn't think either of the final collections were all that original.

Mark's table and couch screamed "You'll love it at Levitz!" circa 1982.  I have seen those shapes a million times.

And like was said, someone's going to kill themselves on Arielle's raw-edge table.

Overall... I felt like Mark was somehow the Chosen One long before the end.  Something fell apart nearly every week, his piece that was supposed to transition didn't even move, and some kid was going to get a concussion when the hammock on the swing-set collapsed.  What was with that swing set, anyway?  Yeah, it looked great.  But it was just a swing set.  It was pretty, but wasn't interesting.

Padma was so annoyed by him and Carrie. I don't think she's a fan. The way she cleared her throat and semi-glared was hilarious. I have never seen her be less than chummy with celebrity guest judges before now.

I'm with Padma.  Most celebrity guests remember that it's about food, not them.  These two were all "Shtick!  Shtick! Look at MEEEEE!"

Well I have to admit I have never had Thai food and if I had been in her place I would have asked what is this. I am aware of it and know it is spicy just have never eaten any. I found it mildly amusing that the blandest, most white bread ( I use this term because thats how I think of myself) family on the show likes very spicy food.

For what it's worth, I have very, very low tolerance for anything spicy, and there is plenty of Thai food that is totally accessible!  If you avoid spicy, seek out some Pad Thai to start with.  And most places even do some curries that are flavorful without that killer heat.  If you cook, look for a recipe for Tom Ka Gai soup, and go light on the curry paste.  SO good!

  10. Well, to throw my two cents in... I thought Garrick was wearing a long-line sports bra that would have to be Dannielle's.  She doesn't get to keep her dignity, why would she get to keep her clothes?

Every time Sidian (that Tool) says AlexOHNdra after the woman herself said AlexANdra made him seem even more pretentious and a bigger tool.  I don't know how this is possible.

Well, I guess it's possible in the same way that Jarod got dumber every time he opened his mouth.  How low does this bar go, people?  Isn't there a point where they can't get stupider, and they can't be more of a tool because they have reached rock bottom?

And I am agreeing with the smart poster from a week or two ago who suggested that Kimberly's look is producer-driven.  I felt like she seemed much more put-together over Zoom or whatever they used earlier.  And then they had her play up what a country bumpkin she is, as if there isn't Thai food in NC.   Are we to believe she has never left her home in the mountains that don't exist?

  11. There would have been good value in what was surely deeply intellectual conversation between Obsidian and Alexandra about his idea of "physics".   And was she in front of a fake background when they all talked?  Everything about her says "I'm here for the exposure".

I feel like in his head Dmitri follows every sentence with "(and/but/because) I'm so awesome".

Jarrod:  "You saw pictures..."  New Woman Emily:  "Oh, crap, I thought that was your daughter."

One of the bonus of Discovery + is getting to watch Seeking Sister Wives Monday morning, but then no one to talk about it with.

King was so flirty and 'charming' 🤢 wooing the new one, he didn't have that vibe for Kaleh. This new girl better enjoy this now because he turns dark and creepy once she's hooked.

Did the photo they have of Demitri and Ashley seem more sinister now or have they always used this one?

The Merrifields new girl is sweet but seems rather mannish. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

First- envious!  Second, does Discovery+ have all of this season available?

I'll be back later to complain about Dannnielle holding Roberta fully responsible for the sexual interlude with Asshole.  I'm sure he popped those horse teeth and gave her that high-pitched maniacal giggle and rolled over on top of her.

I'd bet folding money it wasn't her idea to have their first sexual encounter be a two-minute quickie while "sister" went next door to pick up her pj's and toothbrush.

Oh.  Okay, I said it already.

And I just wanted to 100% co-sign.  Definitely not Roberta's idea, and DAMN Dannielle, do you think that everything Ick does is because of you, and therefore Roberta also controls him, absolving him of all responsibility?

Maybe I should take that back.  I bet Dannielle does think that Ick came to all of this because of something lacking in her.  I've said it before, everyone else on this show is on a spectrum that goes from "roll-my-eyes" to "total hate", but Dannielle kind of breaks my heart.

I don't know what to make of this episode.  I kept watching it and thinking "huh."  And now I'm at today and still thinking "huh."

    ....

And did anybody else find the party in the barn scene to be really disturbing, or was that just mean?

I've got a lot of "huh".  As for the party, I found it strange and it fed into the thought that kept occurring to me throughout the episode:  Is this for real, or is this June's fever dream?  A lot of this was just so, well, "huh, um, okay?" and off that I never fully bought into it as reality.

And seriously.... June staggers up to the farm, a stranger says nothing more than something along the lines of "I thought there were more of you" and that's enough to make June decide that yes, obviously everything is fine and dandy, I'll let everyone know it's safe!

As for Jonestown... I did enjoy the pandemic being presented as significant ONLY because it got in the way of them finding new women to date.

That may be true for some people, but for me, my negative reaction to Bert’s physical appearance has nothing to do her being Brazilian, but Ick’s wholly inaccurate comparisons and descriptions of Bert and Dannielle. Don’t get me wrong, I think both women are attractive and have nice figures, but there just isn’t that much contrast between the 2 to warrant Ick degrading Dannielle.

Exactly.  I think a lot of us are also rolling our eyes because that idiot seems to think that BECAUSE Roberta is Brazilian she must be so ultra hot.  You know, with her string bikini and all which is what everyone in Brazil wears.  (As an aside, I don't think that either woman was wearing a bathing suit that actually fit properly.)

And I'm still not convinced of Roberta's insincerity.  I'm probably a naive chump.

That's why I thought it was so funny that the two prospective SWs were telling her that they had worked out the "D Schedule" between them.

And this is exactly why there will never be two additional "wives".  I don't think it occurred to Ashley until that moment that other wives could gang up on her instead of happily living under ASHLEY RULES while they genuflect.

I don't think Dannielle KNOWS she can be saved and that there's a way out of this.  I don't think it feels that way to her.

  20. I absolutely hate when they call a dish "dated".  It either tastes good or it doesn't!

I also don't like the "I don't know who I am as a chef" spiral.  Maybe the flavor of the week just isn't a flavor profile you enjoy and THAT isn't who you are a chef?

And I kind of get the Campbell's soup hate.... but on the other hand by total coincidence I was eating the mushroom stroganoff I'd just made with cream of mushroom soup (& mushrooms & greek yogurt & ground beef over egg noodles) while I watched this, and it was freakin' delicious and major comfort food.

I really wanted to eat that panzanella salad Chris made.
