  1. Is it me, or does this show condones violence as a legitimate way to express your feelings? Something to be admired, and not criticized, much less punished? We saw it with Alex, and now with Richard. Alex was worse, of course, but the principle is the same: if you're angry, it's OK to use violence to make your point. I hated the smashing bar scene. All that violence scared the hell out of me. I was really afraid Richard was going to attack the bar owner. And no, that wouldn't be OK. What the guy is doing is wrong, so someone should tell the authorities. Violence is not the answer. Violence is never the answer, no matter what the writers on this show want to make us believe.

For me, this whole episode seemed forced. Like they were showing plaques to me telling me when to cry or feel stuff. The music was cringe worthy. That nurse-that-we're-supposed-to-love made me think I was watching the wrong show. Catherine being sick was stupid. How many doctors with tumors can there be in the same show? Maggie and Jackson are the most frustrating couple there ever was.

    Just on ray of sunshine in all this: Koracick. We need more of him. I every episode;

  2. Someone mentioned Eve? By all means, bring Eve back, please! Than she and Tegan can fight for Annalise's love.

Michaela, darling, the only good man for you is Asher. He makes you look human and likable. Get back together, please!

I don't have theories, only wishes.

    1. Connor and Oliver have to be alive.

    2. Tegan and Emmet must survive too.

    3. Miller or Nate can die, I don't care.

    4. I want Annalise's revenge to be ugly.

I liked the idea that Gabriel could be related to Wes somehow. That's the only thing that makes some sense to me. We'll see.

  3. Just started watching and I love it. Very late, I know. But it would be nice not to find a huge  spoiler in the thread titles. Guess I'll come back later.

  4. He will get more confident after having sex with AOG. I'm actually looking forward to that relationship. God knows we need more gay couples on TV, and that one could be hot and adorable.

Ghost!Derek freaked me out. The only ghost who made me cry was George. Miss you, 007!

  5. For me, the big issue here is that the writers are distancing the stories from reality more and more these days - the money thing is part if this. Season 1 worked so well because we could relate to those people and the way they live their lives. TIU is at its best when it deals with the big qustions - life, death, family, love, grief, hope, despair - in a way that we can all relate. For me, Kate, Kevin and Randall could be my brothers and sisters. Jack and Rebecca could be my parents. I loved all the small family moments, all the love shared, all the little misunderstandings, all the little and big struggles. Most of all, I loved seeing the Big 3 interacting in meaninful ways. When was the last time that happened? I also loved seeing Kate, Kevin and Randall growing, evolving, learning from their mistakes, trying to be better at life.

Now I feel that most of that is gone. The writers left the central issues behind and replaced it with lazy artificial drama. And, in the proccess, destroyed their own characters. Both Randal and Kate have been victims of character assassination. Randall was a caring, loving husband and father. Now he's a lunatic who wants to save the world and is blind to the needs of his family. Kate was a sweet, lovely girl, full of insecurities but capable of loving and taking care of her little brother, and a capable professional. Now she's a narcissistic bitch, most if the time. Kevin is the only survivor, but his growth is not being told in a satisfactory way either. And all if this for the sake of stupid turns and twists. Hello, we're not here for the twists or the big drama. We're here for the small moments  that remind us who we are. The show should be about US. Right now, it's not.

Being an actor's personal assistant is pretty different than taking care of a crying, hungry, cranky, pooping, peeing, screaming newborn that isn't leaving your house anytime soon. I'd take care of Kevin all day (and I don't mean that in a gross way, I mean as an assistant) before I'd take care of any newborn for five minutes. YMMV, of course.

What I'm saying is that Kate wasn't always painted as a selfish bitch by the writers. She used to be lovely, and caring, and adorable. For me, of course. We'll have to agree to disagree.

LOL. Maybe. But I doubt it. Having a child is also a sure-fire way to save a failing marriage, right? Sure. More likely I see her complaining about her lack of sleep and the kid being demanding and her not having a life of her own and Toby not being there when a poop diaper needs to be changed. For the next 18 years if this show lasts that long.

Having a child to save a failing marriage is a terrible idea, and I would never advocate that. Nor am I saying that having a child will save Kate. But yes, motherhood changes people. Not always. But when it does, it's powerful. Also, maybe we should remember that, for a long time, Kate took care of Kevin. So yes, she's capable of taking care of another person. Of course, I do love Kate, even with all her flaws, so I might have a different perspective on the character.

  8. I'm a little invested in Owen and Amelia just because it's nice to see them acting like a real family. I wouldn't mind them being together. Teddy can go away.

I didn't hate Maggie this episode, so that's something. But maybe because Jackson was being a jerk. That couple will never work.

Meredith looked so different to me on this episode. Did the actress have something done to her face?

That scene with Bailey and Jo celebrating that they found the disease, and not Meredith Grey, was ridiculous.

Alex should be in prison. That's all.

  9. Remember when we all loved Randall to pieces, back in season 1? Seems like a lifetime ago. How did they destroy the character so completely? Why did they have to make him the most self-absorved, narcissistic, arrogant, delusional character on the show? Whyyyyy?

I wasn't sure about the Vietnam story, but now I'm totally in. Seems to me they'll turn it into a very powerful arc for Kevin. Can't wait to see my favorite character being the center of the show again. Don't ruin it, please!

God knows the writers are making it  very difficult to like Kate this season, and I say this as a fan. But I can totally see her being strong for Toby. Maybe taking care of someone else will be a turning point for her. I also think being a mother can be very positive for her. Finally, she will stop being Katie girl and become a real woman. She'll stop obsessing about her needs and will concentrate on the needs of a child. It could work.As for Toby, I'm sure he will be a loving, wonderful dad. Depression can be controlled. He'll be alright.

  10. You know what I don't get? Why is Kevin being so neglected this season? It's like we're following his story from a distance. He left rehab, fell in love, finally got all the validation he ever wanted, became a movie star and...nothing? I want to know what's inside his head. How he feels about it all. What are his plans. How he feels about Zoe. I mean, we got that Vietnan story, but so far it's all about Jack. Hopefully we'll get a full Kevin-centric episode, but I'm not holding my breath.

Of all the Pearsons, he's the one who has showed more growth. He's becoming the man he should be. I wanna see it happening.

  11. That's what I was thinking about. But in my mind Fisk was not sure, and Karen was the one that confirmed it to him, therefore repeating what she did in the comics. But she doesn't even mention it to Foggy.

Anyway the whole "Matt Murdock is Daredevil" seems a litle clumsy to me in the series. Does Matt know that Fisk knows? Guess I 'd better shut up and go binge-watching..

  12. Am I imagining this, or did Karen unwillingly confirm to Fisk that Matt is Daredevil? He even says "thank you" to her.

Since Fisk knowing Daredevil's identity is such a big deal in the comics, I'm surprised at how casually the theme is being treated this season.

    I'm loving it though.

  13. Personally, I think Teddy should tell Owen at some point. But what I'm arguing here is that she should be the one to tell. Not anyone else. If Maggie is so uncomfortable with the idea of the baby not having a father, she can talk to Teddy any time and discuss this with her. If she's worried about Amelia, again: talk to Teddy. And before someone says she tried to call, well, don't give up after a few calls. Wait patiently for an answet.

Seems to me she's only worried about herself: how difficult it is to hold a secret. Because she's 12.

Give another chance to thay boy, Meredith!

  14. Yes, it is. Still, if Teddy changed her mibf and decided she wants  to raise the baby alone and never tell Owen, it's her decision. You might agree on it or not, but no one should decide for her.

I have kept secrets for people for so many years. It's about respect and loyalty. I know this is soap opera, it's just shocking to me how no one seems to care - or at least the authors don't care.

I hope Teddy finds out, successfully sues Maggie and that Maggie loses her licence or at least faces disciplinary action. Because that was totally beyond the pale for a professional

Now that's a story I would LOVE to see. And then we can get rid of her for good.

What's up with people not being able to keep secrets? I mean, not only as doctors, but as human beings. If someone tells you a secret, you keep it. You show loyalty, and dignity, and respect to that person. I mean, what if Teddy doesn't want to tell Owen ever? It's up to her. Her life, her decisions. It's not about you, Maggie. Be strong. Be an adult. And for God's sake, shut the f* up.

We all make choices in life.  I've lived enough years in my life to know that people die randomly every day.  Good people, bad people, old people, young people, healthy people, fat people.   Maybe Kate has the baby and that is what pushes her to get the surgery.  Maybe kate has the baby and lives another 50 years because statistics are an average they aren't the only outcome.  Would I make that decision?  I don't know.  But I know that being pro choice includes believing it is Kate and Toby's choice.  I hope for he best for their (fictional and theoretical child) but even with the best statistics in the world some kid is going to get hosed and some kid is going to hit the lottery.   Not my job to judge other peoples gambles.

I want to marry this post and have its kids.

  17. Unpopular opinion: I really can't stand Michaela right now. I want to turn off the TV every time she appears. Not only because what she did to Simon (unforgivable for me), but because of her whole attutude this season. Die Michaela die. Oliver can go too. Yes for the return of free fun Connor.

I do like Gabriel so far. Mysterious eye candy is good.

Why are they destroying the Asher character? Why are we're being told again that he has to grow up? He grew up a lot last season. Loved his interactions with the group. And the romance with Michaela. He was a new Asher in season 4! Why are we back so season 1 Asher? I guess they want to kill off his character, so they're trying to make us hate him. That would make sense.

I don't know why I keep forgetting it's totally cool to fat shame everybody.

Me neither. Guess I shoud accept that obesity is a horrible disease caused by people who are not able to control what they eat and therefore do not deserve to have sex (Toby) or have children (Kate). Oh, and when someone tells an obese person that she can't have children, she's not allowed to feel bad. Even if she already lost a child. I mean, it's all her fault for being obese, right? Just go on and lose some pounds! How difficult can that be?

Or worse yet: it's all the actress fault, for not "being able" to lose weight like the producers wanted. Because clearly being obese or not is a simple choice, and not a very complex and delicate condition.

I don't mind all the Kate hate. God knows I hate what the writers are doing with her.

But fat shaming is just plain wrong.

ETA. Sorry for the double post.

I find the opinions that Kate and Toby are not fit to raise children because one is very overweight and one (until this episode) has depression issues that have been controlled through meds, simply astounding.

Not only are there many well raised children with parents with these very issues, there are many families with parents with worse physical issues (say, blindness, deafness, partial paralysis, the list goes on). By implication, anyone with a physical challenge shouldn't have children.

There are definitely a lot of people who shouldn't have children, but I've never included people who actually love and want children in that category.

Thank you. I was reading some posts and finding them so incredbly biased. Obese people can't have children? People with depression issues can't have children? What kind of world is this, because it's certainly not somewhere I want to live.

  20. Not for me, it wouldn't. They were both in need of healing. They both needed comfort and understanding. John saw her. She saw him. It was a meeting of the souls.

Nothing remotely gross about it. Even if the actor was 18. They were both adults. It was consensual sex. I'm completely fine with it.
