T It's 80% in the writing. if these people don't have anything relevant or logical or believable to say even a JJ or GF can't make it work. The show is junk. Never a huge L&L fan but it must hurt to see how distant Geary is towards GF.

It's painfully sad isn't it? For viewers who know the Spencer's history the comedown of the prior stable, sensitive and down-to-earth Lucky Spencer is totally absurd. So wacked out not to be taken seriously. Nothing on this show makes any sense. We're so desensitized with people constantly coming back from the dead and doing weird things totally against character that barely anything can raise a genuinely heartfelt response in this mud bath. I suspect Geary has allot to do with it. Changing Luke meant changing all these great characters - Laura, Lucky, Lulu, Bobbi etc. He may have changed daytime TV but he dragged it back down again and he's still flinging mud. The reason Luke and Laura aren't making the cut is because he doesn't want it. The chemistry is still there but what can GF do if Geary is stone faced. Laura is now completely marginalized blankly walking through the mud. Nicholas is now Helena, he's more like her than Stavros or Stefan. That's cool and TC is doing a good job but where's it leading. No-where. Nothing can survive in this dreck. - the guy who plays old Jake is great, too bad his story is totally absurd.

Yep, I read an article where Genie said that exact thing. Interesting couple and doubly interesting if they'd allow Laura and Stefan. Many people yelped that how could Laura attach herself to someone who was a Cassadine and a witness to Stavros' kidnapping but, hey, when there's chemistry, there's chemistry. They could have worked around it which they almost did but the plug was pulled. Same with Luke and Alexis - would Luke ever love a Cassadine? well maybe if it was Alexis cause they too had chemistry.

From what I've seen and read Geary has allot of respect for JJ. Not only does or did he personally like him, JJ got the emmys, has developed a successful acting and singing career, he's also a nice person (I think) religious etc. and is one of the few people who can stand up to him, KNOWS the history and has made some very unbiased and intelligently negative comments on Geary changing Luke and Luke's history. Kinda like us when we shake our heads in disbelief.

I'm not dissing his talents but he doesn't know that. And, when he needed to pay the bills he (apparently) was very eager to re-connect with GH again and ask for Genie when Bill E. didn't work out. He had his millions after a few years of that stuff and could have left just to do plays even, but he didn't. By that time he enjoyed the steady income and respect, including his awards, he had with GH. And now he's trashing the very brilliant storyline that made TV history and his career. I have NO sympathy for him.

It would be great if Luke's pathetic farewell story was deliberately foolish per tptb. Maybe they hate him too.

You nailed it. Great post.

Smug? I'd say his attitude has been monstrously vicious. I think he truly hates Luke and hates Laura. I don't begrudge him another relationship. In fact I enjoyed him with Felicia. No one is going to argue with a well written story but that's not happening with the no talent on board. I don't get how they could have had Luke kill his parents. That's pure Geary ego and so what if it trashes the whole L&L phenomena. He's no longer the sensitive outsider with a criminal past who loved a neurotic and married high school student - he's a sociopathic killer. Watch early L&L on Youtube with that in mind.

If you watch GF in her Lifetime Portrait show she was very open and brutally honest about her GH experience. She was much more honest in her early years but started the cat-and-mouse back and forth attitude as she got older. ABC and public pressure must have been enormous restraining factors. I suspect she wanted the Cassadine Stefan/Laura romance but wouldn't PR it in public. Geary stayed loyal to L&L until after the Stefan/Laura romance. An unhappy accident, SNL (the importantce of which GH ignores), rape revisited and a older Laura with "homebody" needs started the crack in the L&L wall. They could have continued on with these fascinating storylines but instead retreated to cartoon Luke James Bond antics which ruined whatever credibility L&L still had. L&L was over and never recovered. We got a few sprinkles here and there, but Geary danced towards a Luke makeover because he was bored and frustrated. I thought GF was an excellent teen actress who got boring as she aged. Sad but true. However, she did fantastic work in GH Lucky's death. The Note was not bad at all. In fact, I was surprised at her mature delivery. I'm not as interested in AG but early L&L was brilliant. I felt his best work was after Laura first disappeared when he got his first emmy. Maybe it was his tall gangly frame or his overzealous ego. He should have been doing Gary Oldman roles. Despite the reservations most of us have had with L&L, there's no doubt its important in Television history, especially early L&L. GF has understood that importance and learned to respect L&L fans and what they loved about the storyline. For this I respect her. Geary's ego has gotten beyond L&L and he'd drag it through the mud if he could. For that I do not respect him.

I agree but also feel GF is essentially a straight forward outspoken person whose been burnt by her honest comments of a drugged abusive environment in the early L&L era. She probably never got over it and it screwed her up allot. Being passive aggressive might be the only weapon she's got since GH/TG spit her out. Do you remember when Helena Cassadine would call Laura "Frumpa"? what kind of dialogue is that, unless a personal dig at GF's declining beauty by Guza (who didn't like her apparently). maybe that's all they saw in her unlike Geary whose nearly bald, skinny, has a big nose and kinda ugly - but it's OK if he's ugly. After his failure as Bill Eckert Geary told ABC that he couldn't do Luke without Laura. ABC decided that L&L made money and Genie's AMC gig not so much so GF was told to get out of AMC and back to GH to continue the L&L thing. Geary kept his job and GF was miserable going back to GH and I can't blame her even though it resulted in the brilliant Cassadine story.

My post about Luke and Laura was deleted. Is this website censored?

Well, since TG has been able to carry on and win awards as Luke without GF AND create another successful relationship (Tracy), he dumped GF big time. I believe TG and GF had a personal falling out in the 90's. Geary got her fired from another ABC soap so she could return to GH as Laura because Geary couldn't do Luke without her. Subsequently GF's much publicized rant against being forced back to GH and criticism of drugs and emotional abuse when a teenager on the show probably hurt her with the GH crowd. The writing for Laura has been next to awful. I bet TG's capable to doing much to save his financial a##.

LOL, that's been Geary's contribution since he took over Luke's storyline direction (bad odor stuff). Now that the jerk is finally leaving I hope tptb had a stern talk with him and forced him to treat GF with dignity and forced him to interact with Laura in ways more realistic and consistent with personality and history. And I haven't been a L&L fan for years but at least recognized their brilliant chemistry that somehow crumbled when Stefan Cassadine showed up. Ahhh, if only SC was here to enjoy the final break. Nicholas appears to be channeling the master. I've read lots of criticism of GF performances but honestly, how to react to this hostile Luke. Must be difficult and she probably doesn't know quite how to play it. She obviously wants to inject "love" for the fans and what she feels Laura would be feeling but it's a difficult choice when Geary is snarling at her. I hope GH rewards her for the emotional beating Laura has had to take.

I'm missing the charm of the first two seasons. OK, I prefer the core group - Rick, Daryl, Michonne and that bunch. I miss Rick's intensity and heart. I liked the two part Governor storyline cause I found the character interesting but when they base whole episodes to marginally OK characters who marginally can act and are marginally appealing, it's unfortunately a snooze. The last show bored me because of the central Beth lead. Yeau, the storyline had potential and nothing against it but Beth is a secondary person who is fine in a supporting role (though I cannot understand why Maggie barely mentioned her). And I never thought I'd find the Walking Dead boring. No matter WHAT storyline they never forget to fill in token zombie slashing gore fest moments that are getting more boring as they are predictable. So far we're breezing through some tragic human interest stuff that barely make a ripple because I'm not invested. Of great potential was the "tainted meat" angle with the cannibals. Not so, and we're off and running somewhere else so if they do address that scenario later we've all lost interest. Is it cost cutting that is regulating episodes to one or two central characters? Doesn't work for me. Things are becoming scattered and the heart of the show is sinking. Except for the exceptional episode 3, very disappointed with this season.
