  9. Yes and then she goes to see it by herself later!

There's a list of all the fake movies here.

I love the robotic voice George uses when he says "Prognosis Negative."

  10. TV Line interviewed Hettienne Park and she discussed it some more:

TVLINE | You wrote a long and complex blog post about Beverly’s death, about fan outrage over the killing of a strong Asian female character, about your experiences on the show and more. What prompted you to write that?

I’m on Twitter, and we try to interact with the fan base as much as we can. It’s because of them we got a second season. I follow Bryan’s lead because he’s incredibly generous, opening up those communication channels to people. I’m not sure if people realize it, but he hardly has time to eat or sleep. [Laughs] So the fact that he makes himself available to the fan base is amazing. He’s such a generous and caring person. I started getting messages from some of our fans that he was being attacked. I took a little peek and I was really saddened, because I think everyone’s entitled to their opinions, and I respect those opinions, but the way he was being attacked it went beyond the subject at hand. It got personal and vicious and ugly. He’s a fantastic human being, and him being accused of being racist and sexist was shocking and sad. So I just wrote it and stuck it on the Internet and it seemed to spread really quickly. I just wanted to stand up for my friend, really.

TVLINE | You addressed in your blog how there’s still a desire among minority viewers to see more representations of themselves on TV, to see more diverse casting.

It surprises me how attached people are to the character [of Beverly], though I do understand it. Everyone’s rooting for Will, and Beverly was his real lifeline. As far as her being an Asian female getting killed off the show and people being upset about it, I understand that, too. When I was growing up, there were no Asians on TV. The only Asian I saw on TV was Connie Chung. And when I look back, I think it’s a shame [beverly] couldn’t have lasted ’til the end of the season, because I do think there’s a strong need for – forget about Asian – a strong female character who doesn’t have to play into any clichés. There are strong women who exist in the world. It’s not like this is some crazy idea out of left field. And certainly there aren’t enough roles for minorities. It’s nothing new. Is it surprising that it’s still like that in 2014? It’s disappointing, but I don’t know how surprising it is. But I do believe it’s changing. And just the fact that Bryan was open-minded enough to even consider blind-casting this role, then giving it to an Asian woman, was great. It’s a step forward. I don’t really think of myself as Asian. I know maybe that sounds weird. But I just play it the way it feels right, and if people can identify with that, that’s great. And if the outside of me is Asian and people are rooting for that, that’s great, too.

  11. Hannibal's Hettienne Park discusses

her character being killed. She talks about a lot of stuff (including doing the body cast for her character's body being on display) but she also addresses the "Asian woman being killed off"

  12. I went to a very small college before transferring to a UC, and even at tiny schools where everyone knows everyone, you still can't just stroll into a dorm if you aren't a student. Because it was a small school, things were pretty lax but you still needed a key to get into any of the dorms. Theoretically you get get in if you stood by the main door and waited for someone to come in or out, but since everyone knew everyone else, it was pretty obvious if a stranger tried to sneak in.

At larger schools, dorms like Drew's are high rise buildings that house thousands of students. They have a front desk where non-student guests have to be signed in by a student who lives in that dorm, so there's no way that Amber or Sarah would be able to get up to Drew's room without him knowing about it. He would have to go downstairs and bring them up to his room. This whole "what are you doing here?" when they walk into his room would not happen.

So the school is going to be called Gwen's Snowflake Academy, right?

  13. Intern: Dr. Yang? I'm an intern here. I just wanted to say congratulations. You are totally going to win.
Cristina: Are you from the future?
    Intern: No.
    Cristina: Then shut up!
    Meredith: She means thank you.
Stephanie: I'm going to thank my parents, obviously.

Jo: Why? They didn't help you win the Harper Avery.
Stephanie: They gave birth to me. They should be publicly acknowledged.
Jo: I don't have parents so not going to waste any of my speech on them. It's going to be all about me. Humble but -
    Stephanie: Self involved.
    Jo: Exactly!

Leah: I remember being in medical school looking at these old medical journals and seeing a picture of [Ellis Grey] the first time she won. She was young. She was like 35 or something. I'm almost 35.
    Stephanie: You're 27.

Meredith: I wore waterproof mascara today because I was sure I wouldn't make it through the day without crying. And if anybody saw me, I would say that I'm crying because I'm happy for her. And they would believe me because does a jealous friend plan a champagne toast?
Derek: You planned a champagne toast to cover up your jealousy? You're a genius.
Meredith: You should call the Harper Avery people. Maybe they'll give me an award.

    Jo: Omigawd, you called Butthole!

Bailey: Yang! Congratulations on the Harper Avery.
Cristina: Oh, it's just a nomination.
Bailey: Cristina Yang, I taught you better than that! When someone congratulates you, you look them in the eye and smile and say, "Thank you."

  14. Callie: Don't be mad...

Arizona: Did you cheat on me?

Callie: No, I want to have another baby!

    Arizona: Me too!

Callie: Then I don't care if your first thought was to accuse me of being unfaithful despite the fact that you are the one who cheated on me recently! Yay, babies!

When your partner's first instinct is that you cheated, you should DEFINITELY have another baby!

I am going to be super annoyed if this Jackson/April money thing turns into that lame "OMG you are so rich and I am but a lowly pauper" crap from 50 Shades of Grey conversation. If Jackson wants to buy coffee instead of making it himself, what's the big deal? She doesn't need to guilt him into making his own coffee. If April doesn't want to spend money on extraneous things, that's her choice but she shouldn't be so judgmental about what Jackson spends money on. It's not like they're living paycheck to paycheck and his coffee expenditure is going to mean they get thrown out of their house.

I also don't see why April can't manage to do laundry. Throw your crap in the washing machine as soon as you get home. Make dinner. Eat dinner. Now go put your laundry in the dryer. The end. It's not rocket science. It doesn't take massive scheduling or time management skills.

I loved how supportive Meredith was in the morning with her pep talk to Cristina while the phone was ringing. And I love that they had a sleepover at Alex's house so they would be together at 5am when the phone call came. But I also liked seeing Meredith and Bailey being jealous. That seemed realistic to me. Heh and I loved all the interns drooling over Cristina and saying, "We know her!" and then Cristina telling Meredith to turn off the intercom.

I HATE that the synposis for this episode says that Derek and Callie were using a machine that recognizes emotions. That's not what MEG does. It just shows you which areas of the brain are activated which is not the same thing as recognizing emotion.

One reason I can't wait for this season to end: no more 80s covers next year. Right? RIGHT?!

  15. Max continues to work my last nerve. Storming into Hank's studio and knocking crap over is totally inappropriate. What I didn't understand is why Amber even drove Max from the studio in San Francisco to Hank's studio in Berkeley if he hadn't finished his homework. And no, Max, going to the studio is not your "right as a citizen." And don't LIE and say that you didn't mean to knock over that light. Yes you did!

Natalie can GTFO. I'm so tired of her manipulative ways. She only wants Drew when she can't have him. It's all a game of cat and mouse for her. She goes in to draw his attention and then as soon as he engages with her, she goes all faux innocent and "who, me?" While I'm glad she finally sacked up and admitted why she slept with Berto, but it's too little too late for me. Great, you've admitted that you're an insecure and terrible person. That doesn't fix things between you and Drew, so I hate that this resulted in Drew saying he wanted Natalie to be his girlfriend.

As great as it was to see Sarah be supportive of Julia sleeping with Mr. Knight, the fact remains that it's not Sarah's place to say that Julia didn't do anything wrong.

Hee, part of me likes Peet telling Joel to just grab his toolbox and go to Crosby's house to fix the floor because he's going to do it eventually and he might as well do it sooner or later. What I didn't like was Peet admitting that she's been giving Joel signals and he's been ignoring them. I hated Crosby dropping hints but not just asking Joel to help him. Stop being a passive aggressive child and verbalize what you want! But it was worth it to see Joel mocking his half assed efforts to rip up the floor. And it was sweet to see Joel and Crosby trying to talk to each other in that awkward "men having an emotional talk while drinking beer" kind of way.

Cupcakes with broccoli brittle? No thanks! I am so tired of seeing Drew's non-student family members just stroll into his dorm room. That's not how dorms at large campuses like UC Berkeley work in this day and age. I also call bull crap on Hank's story about how the school tried to have some students take photos of the provosts the year before and it didn't work out. The school has professional photographers to take pictures of important people like the provosts.

Seeing Kristina talk to her dying friend was really painful. She drives me crazy with her usual overtalking but she is really good at these emotional moments. I got a call like that recently (the "you need to come say goodbye now" call) so this hit a little too close to home. I hated that she was being so stubborn about that building afterward though.

I was almost happy with Adam and Sarah's conversation about Hank because Adam seemed to be concerned with Sarah's happiness and not what this would do to Max's relationship with Hank. And then at the end he had to go and make it about Max. GAWD. So now all three of Adam's siblings have slept with someone related to Max's education/Asperger's.

I laughed when Amber was at the hospital and she told Hank he didn't have to stay. Uhhh, he just drove 10 hours with you. Do you expect him to walk the 500 miles back to Berkeley? So did Sarah drive down too? I'm surprised that Amber's crappy old car made it all the way down there in one piece.

  16. Punjab is the Sikh Holy Land, and is also India's agricultural breadbasket. In the Season 3 premiere of "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown," Tony takes a chaotic cab ride to a roadside vegetarian food stall, witnesses a Pehlwani match -- which is an Indian style of wrestling, and visits the only official dividing line between India and Pakistan to watch a sunset ceremony dubbed a "carefully choreographed contempt," in which thousands of spectators shout cheers for their "side." Tony also takes a death-defying train ride into the Land of the Gods in the foothills of the Himalayas, among many other adventures throughout Punjab's unknown parts.

  17. He doesn't even need to hired a whole band. He just needs to replace Avery for one gig. Zoe hasn't left town yet so I'm sure she would be fine with singing the same songs again next week. I'm pretty sure that in a town like Nashville, he could find another guitar player who could learn their songs quickly enough to fill in for this gig.

  18. My other issue with Rachel's behavior is that they're about to go into tech rehearsals and she is still going through the script and crossing out lines she thinks Fanny Brice wouldn't say. Dude, you aren't the playwright. You aren't the director. STFU. If you had valid concerns about particular lines, you shouldn't have waited until now to cross them out of your script.

  19. Blaine: I just read a website about Ewoks and how they're all polygamists.

Sam: How is that fan fiction? Of course they're polygamists. That's obvious.

    Kurt: I played football too.

    Burt: As a kicker!
