  1. I also thought it strange that Paul wouldn't have discussed Luke using the car while he and Ally were away, instead of Luke having to call him in Malta to get permission.

Also, I'm not sure why Luke shared his meal with Maya instead of just offering to switch so she could have a full portion. And if he didn't like blue cheese, I'm sure there was something in his own kitchen that he could have eaten. (Somewhat strange that Italian food had surprise blue cheese, but ok.)

Main Street Electrical Parade one of my favorite Disney World memories.

That's true, but there doesn't seem to be any reason why a non-electrical neighborhood Pride Parade would be held after dark.

I knew right away that the invitation was actually the Guide trying to force everyone to spend time with her, I even guessed that she was behind Nadja's "hex" as a way to hang out with her, but I didn't guess that they would use the camera crews footage to show that they actually do like her after all.

How did Lazlo instantly recall the date of the conversation? Does he have a photographic (videographic) memory?

I enjoyed Joy so much last season and was looking forward to seeing how that relationship had blossomed, but I guess the writers decided to make her kooky and not in a great way. Ugh. I love Andrea Martin, but like Charles, I'm looking for a way outta this relationship.  Why, why, why does she have to be dotty?

This! I really liked Joy last season and found her touching and vulnerable. Now she just seems pushy, entitled, oblivious, and rude. Sigh.

Charles sure can pick em. Even if Joy is a red herring, which I'm sure he is, I am not liking her so much this season. She seemed so nice last season but now it seems like she's turned into some kind of quirky mess.

I have always liked Andrea Martin. I was happy to see her when the character was first introduced. After this episode, I hated her character. She was kind of over the top nutty - especially about the fish. I no longer saw what Charles liked about her or why he would want her to move in.

    Yes, it's disappointing.

So, the serum is vasiline and club soda?

Yes, but since Vaseline wouldn't dissolve in/mix with club soda, there's no real way Kimber got the Vaseline into those teeny bottles.  It would have been better if she had said olive oil and club soda, but I guess Vaseline is funnier.

Anyone else bothered that when Joy declared herself the omelette and wanted Charles in the bedroom for the antelope, he left the stove on?  I might have screamed at the TV, which my pups did not appreciate.

    Yes!  That greatly disturbed me.

  5. The Guide said that the 4 vampires were going to remain in the basement cages forever.  What about when the mistress of the mansion returned home?

I was surprised that Nandor wasn't also furious that everyone else had kept Guillermo's secret from him; they were more loyal to Guillermo than they were to him (although I suppose they could explain it by saying that they knew Nandor would kill himself after killing Guillermo and they didn't want to see that happen.)

I wish that Guillermo had told Nandor that he hadn't known the rule about a familiar only being turned by his master/mistress.

Why didn't anyone remove the stake from Derek?  Did it have to stay that way? (Have we ever seen a staked vampire turn to dust or otherwise disintegrate in other episodes?  Do the bodies always remain intact?)

Hmm, Ally had a close-knit group of friends who ghosted her 17 years ago because of ... Paul and his raging, liberally using impolite words like "c***" all the time.

They get back together because they figure Ally and Paul would have split up by now.

Well that almost happened, now Ally is doubling-down on her family, since they love her shit muffins.

Turns out she has a higher tolerance for arseholes than she thought.

I was really surprised that when the friends told Ally that they thought she would have split from Paul by now, she didn't tell them that instead, they had got married only half a dozen or so years ago!  It seems like the show forgot that Ally and Paul were "partners", not "spouses" for a very long time.

That may well be the reason the friends assumed that she wasn't with Paul now; under normal circumstances, it might have been in the best interest for a new mother to be married to the father of her child, but she hadn't wanted a legal commitment to Paul back then, so she must have had a reason.

My thoughts on Aiden telling Carrie that he needs to focus on Wyatt till he is 18 years old...if Wyatt truly has some mental issues how does Aiden put a time frame on it, what about all the mental health issues 18 year olds have, Aiden thinks those issues will magically disappear on the kids 18th birthday?

Apparently not, because he is putting the relationship on hold until Wyatt is 20, or "out of his teens" as if 20 is the magic number.  And then he says that his current 20 year-old needs him around most of the time?

But here's a question: Didn't Ally have a baby that was given Luke's room, which is why he moved to the basement?

Luke and Ava shared the 2nd bedroom until he moved to the basement, leaving Ava with her own bedroom.

Season 3 Episode 1, Caption on screen, And Just Like That It Was Five Years Later. 😉

    Problem solved. Next!

And lots of comments about how good they look for 60 year-olds.

But they'd have to age Rock, Lily and Brady.  Especially Rock.

Perhaps it's because I'm currently in the post-production stage of TV producing myself, but the shot of Miranda hailing the cab on the way to the BBC felt like superfluous filler.

And I couldn't help but contrast the shot of the cab screeching to a halt for Miranda at night with the cab that ignored Herbert Wexley and the little girls in the daytime.

I dunno. If Luke's participation in the Manchester program sets him up for life career-wise, that is also good for the baby. Maybe they should think about moving the pregnant girlfriend to Manchester.

I assume she's going to need her mother's help.  She's very young, and won't know anybody there besides Luke, who will have school and homework and no baby experience.  (I assume that she will be taking a break from school.) That's not a good setup.

Looks like the suspect pool has been narrowed down to whoever was given a handkerchief by Ben as a gift for opening day.  I know they said it was given to the crew and cast, but I wonder if others received them, which would still allow for the likes of his brother or the documentary guy to be in the game still.

On 8/8/2023 at 8:12 AM, shapeshifter said:

    Also:

    • the killer may have taken the handkerchief from someone,
      including Ben,
    • or the killer just found the handkerchief laying around?
    • or the handkerchief was dropped…
      • by a witness who is reluctant to come forward?
      • and/or the handkerchief was dropped at the scene before Ben’s fall,
        • by someone who may or may not realize they dropped it,
        • and which might cause either the intrepid podcasters or the police (or both) to suspect someone of pushing Ben down the elevator shaft who’s only guilty of dropping a handkerchief.
    • Does there have to be a killer?
      • Ben could have been assaulting someone who pushed him away,
      • or Ben could have just lost his footing?
        • have they done an autopsy yet, to see if Ben was taking drugs or medicine that could have caused him to stumble down an elevator shaft?

Any recipient could have given it to someone else.  I doubt most of them were particularly impressed by the gift. Now why that someone else would want to kill Ben is another issue....

I was very worried for Oliver when he was having his heart attack. Glad it wasn't a BIG one.

If a doc on a house call can diagnose a heart attack and provide a monitoring device without Oliver having to go to the hospital, then I can believe Ben's recovery from death.  (He must be related to Jack Bauer.)

He had the heart attack at the theatre and then the scene with the doctor was at the Arconia...I can pretend in the elapsed period of time, Oliver was at the hospital. This is much easier for me to suspend disbelief about than Ben coming back to life after an hour, as if nothing happened.

Exactly.  He was examined and diagnosed at home?  No hospital tests?  Or we missed the hospital visit, and now he has a doctor who pays house calls and provides a heart monitor (at the behest of his son, the veterinarian)? This seems very unlikely, even in Manhattan.  Concierge doctors replace office visits, not hospital visits.

When Ben came back from being dead the first time, he said the doctors thought it was something he ate.
The bit of cookie? Perhaps not enough to kill him with immediate medical attention? Maybe a known allergy?
Do we know who provided the cookies?

The cookies were at the read-through, 4 months before opening night.

    Agreed.

I just wanted to say that so far we still have not seen any real evidence that this was a murder.  Ben could have gotten the handkerchief some other way and his falling into the elevator shaft could have been an unfortunate accident while otherwise distracted during an argument or fight with someone.  As crazy as it sounds, based on what we know right now we don't know that either incident was an attempt at murder or an actual one.

We also don't know that it was actually blood coming out of his mouth during his "first death".  I assume it was theater blood.

  13. Even though the Manchester course is an amazing opportunity, he needs to be there with Maya and the baby. It doesn't mean he has to settle for a lousy college. But perhaps his academic performance hasn't been great, so it's either a program that he is uniquely skilled for, or something mediocre. I would imagine that London would also have music tech programs, though, even if not as exclusive as the one in Manchester.

And why didn’t she, once she realized her hubby didn’t actually get the vasectomy eight years ago, get an IUD or something?  Did he not tell her?  Was this the first she’s hearing about it?  That’s unconscionable, but if that’s the case, why did it take till now to get pregnant again?

She (or he) probably used birth control up to the point where she thought she wasn't fertile anymore-perhaps she hasn't menstruated for a year or so.  As she said to Charlotte: "How did this happen? I thought I moved out of Babyville, but apparently, I still live right on the border."  These things happen.

And, another thought … why was Aiden crying and taking the blame for his son’s accident?  It was his ex-wife’s weekend to care for the boys!  If anyone is to blame, it’s HER … not him!

Because Aidan is thinking if I wasn't up here in NYC playing house with Carrie the accident wouldn't have happened.

    21 hours ago, zamp33 said:

Agree - Something might have happened regardless of Aidan being there or not. Also it was not his weekend. And didn't the son get his phone taken away by his mother - pure speculation on my part - but it sounds like Wyatt is wither a typical teen lashing out at his mom who is probably stricter than Aidan, or he resents Aidan going to NYC and is playing the parents against each other. Either way the kid has mental health issues - like most teens do these days - and Carrie didn't really come across as understanding that. The question is whether Wyatt was getting help all along - there were lots of signs from the little interactions we saw and I am sure a school/teacher/counselor would have been on it right away.

Exactly.  Wyatt had asked him to come home after he got into the fight with his mother and he didn't, so he feels guilty.  That's normal.  Wyatt's still a kid, and he could have died.

    22 hours ago, 2JEWELL said:

His Mother has every right to ask Carrie not use her kids as material for her writing, and still be surprised when one sneaks out of the house. It doesn’t make her irresponsible.

Yes. Regarding opinions that this is all his mother's fault because it was her week with the kids, unless you put locks on all the doors that a 14 year old can't figure out, he can run away if he really wants to.  And parents don't have a magical ability to know where their teen is every second.  And the older brothers can't and shouldn't have to, either.  Perhaps Aidan shouldn't have left the keys to his truck where Wyatt could find them. But of course, neither of them anticipated this.

As to why Wyatt is acting out more now than before; he's 14.  He's likely going through puberty and being flooded with hormones, on top of whatever mental issues he has.  And if Aidan had flown home this time, the next time Wyatt had a fight (possibly with Aidan), he might have done something equally as dangerous.  Yes, he needs therapy, and I'm sure he'll get it, following the investigation into how the accident happened.

Im not convinced that LTW didn’t have that abortion. Otherwise what was the point of that storyline?

Why would she agree to go to the hospital if she was responding the way she would expect to if she had taken an abortifacient?  Why would she lie to the husband who left the decision up to her?  That doesn't make any sense.

It seems that Carrie still thinks the world actually revolves around her. Why is she assuming that Aiden is going to pull up roots and leave his sons to move to New York?

She isn't.  She needs the place so Aiden will stay with her on the alternate weeks when he doesn't have his boys at his farm.  She also wants to have enough space so that the boys can occasionally visit.

4 bedrooms: 1 for her (and Aiden when he visits), 1 for her clothes, and the last 2 furnished with at least 3 beds in case the boys all come at the same time.  Maybe one room has 2 beds, and the other has her desk and a 3rd bed.

I'm not clear on why a 20-year old would be going back and forth between his parents each week regularly, though.  He'd either be at college or working.  If the latter, and assuming he doesn't have his own place, I don't know why he would would want to keep moving back and forth.  He'd mostly likely pick one place, and visit the other parent whenever.  Not every family is the same, but if Miranda got her own 2-bedroom in Brooklyn, I doubt that Brady would be going back and forth on a weekly schedule. Perhaps Aiden's oldest just wants to always be with his younger brothers, but that seems a bit much.

Isn't he dead? I thought Guillermo stabbed him with the "put him down" needle. To save Nadja. He does love them all and they love him back! Not only was Nadja saving Guillermo but Nandor was saving Colin!

You may be right; but wouldn't there evidence that he was killed by a familiar brought in by Nadja?  Maybe there won't be repercussions, but there should be.

I do wonder if whatever was in the hypodermic that could kill a partially-turned vampire would be able to kill (not just temporarily incapacitate) a true vampire.  Was it holy water?  It shouldn't be an easy task to accomplish. I'm not sure that Nandor should have been capable of being completely drained to the point of "death" by Lazlo's machine, either.
