  1. Woof. Got a little catching up to do. Fortunately, it's easy catching up. Week 20: 2/5, no * Week 21: 2/5, no * Consistency is a virtue.
  2. Week 19: back to my expected standard, 2/5, with the Othello *.
  3. week 18: 4/5. Since it was Friday's question that tripped me up, I'll bring beer to the table. (Amstel, of course.)
  4. Oh, my. My first ever (since I've been playing this and keeping track, at least) 5/5. (With an *, no less.) A feat this rare requires an equally rare contribution to the table.
  5. Week 16: 4/5, making it a season's best (or maybe tied for best) for me to date. (That elusive 5 still... eludes. Man, I SHOULD have been able to guess Pele this week...)
  6. Week 15: 4/5, did not get the *. Merry Christmas to all!
  7. Oh, and 3/5 for week 14. Sorry, originally came here for that and got distracted by the news.
  8. That's heartbreaking news, Clanstarling, but thank you for passing it along to us.
  9. wooof, running late with my stuff this week. At least it's just shay of being NEXT week yet. 3/5
  10. Oof. Bad week. A sad l'il 1/5. But at least that 1 is a 1*! So in honor of Stonehenge keeping me just above 0 this week, I'm bringing some traditional British rock cakes:
  11. Week 11: 3/5, no *. And I'm too bloated still to even contemplate food. I'll skip a table and nap in the corner.
  12. Week 10: 2/5, no *. I'm the pie guy at my yearly thanksgiving feasts, so I'm bringing an old favorite along for the pre-thanksgiving Jeopardy Primetimer feast. Tart au sucre, AKA, maple syrup pie. (Sounds better in French.)
  13. Week 9: 2/5, no *. For the Mexican Square clue, I actually said the following: 'Trippoli, if only because I can't remember Ethopia's capital right now.' Alas. I'm making a French onion galette to have with dinner tomorrow night, so I'll bring some of that along.
  14. Week 8: 3/5, 1* (Richard III) While I normally try to make my dining contributions thematic with questions from the week, I've had a giant roast marinating in wine & vinegar for about six days, as the prep stage of a sauerbraten for tomorrow night. It's a big chunk of meat, so everyone can dig in!
  15. I'm late too! Please accept this box of Andes after dinner mints. Week 7: 3/5, no *.
  16. woooo, a season best week for me with 4/5. I'll celebrate with a pigeon pie, army training be damned. (If someone wants to being along a bit of poison to take out a tyrannical teenage king, feel free.)
  17. Week 5: 2/5, but with an * (Prince Rainier) to cheer me up.
  18. Oh, good, I'm not the only one that did that, then. Maybe my mind was on home health care products. 2/5 for me, this week. No *. Given that everyone seems to have all the courses covered, plus mine and Prevailing Wind's apparent obsession with Johnson & Johnson this week, I'll bring something for the inevitable indigestion.
  19. Week three was another subpar week, 2/5, no *. Though really, I have to wonder, if 2/5 has been my consistent score for the last three weeks, if I can really consider that 'subpar' or just 'par' for me at the moment.... I'll distract myself from that bit of self reflection and instead focus on the Guinness and lamb stew I'll be bringing.
  20. Week 2: 2/5. Handel was pretty much instant; I'm not sure if I'd have gotten the Oppenheimer clue without benefit of the film, but for the sake of my ego I'll pretend I would have. And I absolutely would have had 3 this week if the Sue clue had been framed around the MUCH more obvious and intuitive question of, 'The wizard Harry Dresden once reanimated and rode this fossil through the streets of Chicago.' Well, obvious and intuitive for me, at least.
  21. Week 1: 3/5. Because I immediately got the first final jeopardy of the season, in honor of Queen Vicky I offer up that confection specifically created for her granddaughter's wedding: Battenburg cake.
  22. I'm in for season 40!
  23. A rather poor showing for me in this final week: 2/5. Since the two questions I got were La Boheme and French Foreign Legion, clearly there's a theme to my correct answers this week. A theme I will continue with my last food contribution of the year:
  24. checking in late, as always: week 45, 3/5.
  25. Week 44: 3/5. I made the same Steinbeck/London misfire guess that Daniel did, so I feel only minimal shame over that, but not remembering the Maine was all on me.
