  1. Before seeing the photo, as I was reading this, I thought Tina was played by Linda Purl. She is the one I associate with "Like Normal People". Imagine my surprise when I saw it was Julie Anne Haddock from the Facts of Life. I don't remember her from "Like Normal People", perhaps because she was not constantly saying "Rajah" throughout the movie (and yes I know I am going to hell), but a quick check on IMDB confirms Miss Haddock's appearance in that classic TV movie.

You beat me to it! I never saw the movie but people said, "I love you, Rajah!" enough at that time that it's still stuck in my head. TFoL's Cindy going from tomboy to model seven later bewildered me.

  2. I have no idea why I remember this, but the twins originally played the character most like themselves. They realized that wasn't working, and switched roles at some point.

I do remember this now that you mention it, but I think they changed before the series started, kind of like how Rue McClanahan's role in Maude was more like Rose on The Golden Girls while Betty White's role on the Mary Tyler Moore Show was more like Blanche and they were happy to switch types.

  3. I just wanted to add my two cents to say that Chris is a great guy (and member of the National Puzzlers' League, which is how I know him) so I was thrilled he won yesterday and sorry he lost today. Contestant Alex was interesting and I'm really curious to see if he's any more relaxed ... or less relaxed ... on Monday.

  4. I had 1000-...or was it 100-year old eggs at a party once about fifteen years ago and I thought they were delicious! (Plural because I went back for seconds.) I just remember it being tangy, but I might not be remembering correctly.

As for that cat challenge, I couldn't even look at the TV. I am so allergic I would have been red-eyed and wheezing on my first step into that awful cafe. For me that is the worst challenge they've ever had on this show.

  5. At least The 4400 had an explanation (people were sent back with special skills that they would need to save/destroy the world) until they completely forgot their own explanation. I watched all of Season One of Les Revenants and it was beautiful, but I won't be watching Season Two because I found the first season to be so unsatisfying.

  6. I'm watching and I'm definitely not in the demographic. I didn't see that they were in San Juan until this week. I'm going for my first time ever next month and I hope they clean the sand before then! I'm rooting for them all to be miserable except for Ellie, whom I refer to as "Southern Snooki." I wish she could come down next month and pour shampoo into my hot tub (not innuendo).
