The only plot on this show that still bothers me is that something happened to Regina's hands to the point that she couldn't sign anymore. Why did they do that? Did Constance Marie not want to sign anymore?

After the first season, Constance Marie developed really bad tendonitis, carpal tunnel and nerve damage from learning ASL for the show. Her doctor told her she had to stop using sign language so much because of the damage it was doing to her hands.

Oh, ouch! I had no idea that it just mirrored real life. Awful.

  2. "But if you watch her eyes when she says "vital," they light up in this weird way as if she's just said some arcane double entendre no one's heard in generations."

I love this. It reminds me of when I've gone to see Shakespeare plays and people in the audience let out a knowing "Haw haw haw!" at some random line because they'd learned about what it meant in their English classes.

  3. Apparently Calvin and Lindsay's Freestyle was taking place right below my apartment, but there were two inaccuracies: (1) The A train doesn't stop there and (2) I couldn't hear Billy Eichner screaming from the street above.

  4. Brett Butler! Ha! She must have a thing for fire.

(Yes, I know her awful past. I hope she's doing better... and nothing untoward these days.)

I'm so glad this show cast Lauren Velez.

    She's such a tremendous talent.

I hope she's not a 'one and done,' because she's given quite a bit of depth to, what would be a stock character, in a lesser actor's hands.

I was wondering if she was the one from Dexter or the twin sister of the one from Dexter. Now I know she's the former. They're both good.

  5. Yes, it was Alison Rosen's podcast. Thanks, I couldn't remember her name and I had never listened to her before.

It was my first foray into reality shows, which I will never do again, because I had PTSD after.

I love Mindy Cohn but it wasn't her first foray into reality shows, unless she doesn't count What Not to Wear.

  6. I thought this episode was awful and I really wish that they'd do what Roseanne did: make the mandatory Disney episode and then in the very next episode do an Edelweiss Gardens/"Springtime for David" response to having had to make that episode.

  7. I watched for the twist, which I figured out ten minutes into the show (thank you, old medical equipment, email, and avoiding the word "twin"). The rest of This Is (obvio)Us doesn't interest me, so I'm out.

  8. My friend who's a photographer took me to a Celebrity Autobiography reading a few years ago because he knew I'm an incurable fan of Mindy Cohn. Mindy Cohn and I had communicated on Twitter and I knew she'd be as nice as she turned out to be. Pamela Adlon was also there and while I have extremely limited experience with celebrities, she was the nicest celebrity I've ever met. She kept talking to me, long after she actually had to. ;{)} I hope this does well because she's just the best.

And same intern figures out there was something odd that Kerry and Jason both had the same rare blood type.  Makes the intern go hmmmmmm.

It made me go hmmmmmm too because that's not how blood types work.

Can Lena's mom please be in every episode? Same with Sharon. HILARIOUS that she ordered the strippers.

I had also thought that Sharon had ordered the strippers but I thought I heard a line about Stef's mother having done it.
