  1. I loved the charming, "inmates running the asylum" vibe this week had. Well done.

You know, if CW wanted to re-boot a nighttime soap from the 80s, it should have chosen "Falcon Crest" which had business shenanigans, but it was all about wines and wineries, so perhaps less dreary and more appealing than oil/energy?

  2. Once a season, The Chancellor can't not give Brandon an award. I imagine years later Brandon still gets awarded something by The Chancellor.

"Hello Brandon! It's Chancellor Arnold! Just letting you know you've been awarded CU's Pullitser prize for best alum. No, not P-u-l-i-t-z-e-r. Pullitser, with two ells and and S, named after Nathan Pullitser, the CU alum who invented bathroom windows 7.5 feet from the floor."

  3. David was almost there with his speech to Donna when she came back from her walk, but agonizingly stopped short of the natural conclusion.

Also in the User Submitted Technology 5, I was waiting for "Val or Abby gets an Uber from the airport."

  4. Oh nothing, just the opening credits of "Pacific Palisades" on YT.  Looks like there's some episodes too.  How did I not remember that Michelle Stafford is the older sister-slash-mom!:

OMG casting director! You already have a Lucky Vanous--you don't need a Joel Wyner as well.

  5. I think Baring C. Gold sounds like a Mr. Burns pastiche on Itchy and Scratchy
That Orlando Bloom show sounds like an idea sneezed by Neil Gaiman and he threw the tissue in the trash, and then at some point, someone from Amazon snuck into his house and stole it away.
That Sarah still can't not laugh during the Nonac celebratory theme is one reason why I always root for the Noncac to win (win?).

  6. I had thought the highlight was going to be Jeff's "I would kill a pile of babies" but then the One Tree Hill runner showed up at took the crown.

  7. I have to say, what struck me about the TC clips in the canon is how much they sounded like a radio show. A lot of modern shows these days you can't get the acting just through the clips, but those Three's Company clips sound like a radio play. I assume because 1970's TV was closer to radio as a story medium than today's television.

  8. [Dylan McKay voice] "C'mon Tara, Kindle Single, are you kidding me? Books are just bytes moving around the screen, books are ink on paper, covers that you can run your fingers across. It's Kerouac, man, banging out On The Road on his roll using a real typewriter. You can't do that with a computer."

    Ugh--"Books AREN'T".
