  1. When Dandy told Paul "I'm thirsty, fetch me a lemonade." and then stood up on the stage and raised his arms, I was sure I had somehow missed the information that the episode was the season finale.  That would have been such a RM way to end it.

  2. On one hand, I see your point.  And doing yet another "fakeout" murder scene is a bit ... I don't know.  Lame?

On the OTHER hand...  I am a bona fide horror enthusiast -- movies, books, TV shows, you name it--and I am rarely reticent to watch a murder scene.  But with sweet Ma Petite??  I was legit cringing and kept switching to another channel.  I just did NOT want her to be killed off.  I adore her so much.

My daughter and I watch the show on-demand on Sunday nights.  I can't resist peeking at the forums so I was spoiled about the Ma Petite fakeouts.  My daughter was not and she sobbed and sobbed and went upstairs, woke up her sister and told her what was going on.  Major drama until I could get her to calm down and realize what was really happening.  Then I told her she could be one of the freaks, lol ;)

While I have to agree that this season is more creepy than horrifying, it's definitely doing something to my psyche.  I have the weirdest dreams if I watch it and then go right to bed.  I'm going to have to start watching 2 or 3 episodes of Friends or something similar before I go to sleep.

  3. Part of the problem with this show for me is that it comes on at 10:00 (usually bed time for me) and the commercials, commercials, commercials.  Slow building story lines make it seem more like work than entertainment.  So I purposely didn't watch on Wednesday and caught it on-demand last night.  I have to say that did the trick.  There are still commercials but only one or two between segments.  It was much more "fun" to watch and I find I can relax more and get in to the story. I should mention that I plowed through "Murder House" and "Asylum" on Netflix.

With everything that went down in "Freak Show", my biggest "OH MY GOD" moment was LobsterBoy Gigilo at the tupperware party.  I was somewhere between "I'm cracking up" and "I can't unsee it" lol.  Of course, having my teenager sitting in the room saying "EEEEWWWAAAA!!!" made it even funnier :)

I'm in, at least for now, as long as I can keep catching it on-demand!

Edited because I should proofread before I post.

  4. Kendall could also be an exceptional dancer but they are teaching her skills that are beyond her years.  Because of this she has poor posture, raised shoulders, poor feet.  She hasn't been given the chance to develop a solid foundation.

Very good point.  Kendall has absolutely no "pop" to me and I haven't been able to figure out why.  This makes sense.  I've seen this in the ballet world...girls are placed in levels above where they belong (mostly due to pushy mothers :)) and, while they could be fantastic if placed in the proper level, they end up looking awkward and ungraceful because their bodies are just not ready.

  5. How is this farce still on the air?  It's soooo scripted and as been since mid way through the 1st season. The ratings are in the cellar, so it can't possible survive another season. As the end comes, I sincerely hope whatever money the girls made on this show (thanks to their moms selling their own children's souls and senses of self esteem) is securely deposited in the girls' names.

And I think Gianna is just as snotty and badly behaved as Abby.  She always looks like she's smelling bad cheese.

Agreed about Gianna.  She has always rubbed me the wrong way but this season takes the cake.

  6. Did they say that this was the first time in 12 years that Chloe didn't perform in the recital? Isn't she only 12? Maybe I misheard it but I'm sure she wasn't performing as an infant.

This was bugging me so I looked up Chloe's birthday.  She turned 13 in May, which I'm guessing was around showcase time.  So, if this year's recital was to be her 12th then she would have been two for her first.  While I'm sure children don't perform in recitals THAT young, I'm betting Christi was off by only a year or two.  She does a lot of things that bug me but I'll give her a pass on that one, lol.

As for Cloe crying in the audience...whether she's at the studio or not I think it would still be very hard to watch your former dance school perform.  We recently moved to a new city and my daughters had to leave their dance studio.  We talked about going back to see the recital but both girls didn't think they'd be able to handle it.  I'm sure Chloe is over Abby but she was part of that team/studio for a long time.  I think the tears were real.

  7. I didn't think anything that happens on this show could still shock me....a new low, Abby.  Congratulations.

In addition to the vileness that is ALM, a couple of other things stuck out to me:

    1.  Maddie's snapish "Well, it IS my solo" followed by an eyeroll.  Maddie, I'm sure there is still a sweet kid in there somewhere, please run away as fast as you can before Abby's spirit completely possesses you.

    2.  Oh, Gianna.  My jaw hit the floor when you said "this is not your fault.  It's because YOUR mothers..." emphasis on "YOUR".  I wanted to reach in to the television and smack you.

I know we've beat this subject to death on these boards but, if the girls are in on this horrible scripting, they are the best actresses in the world and they should all have their own web series.

Get a grip, Lifetime.  When you have viewers with their fingers crossed that a child will lose a dance competition you are doing something horribly wrong.

  8. Love this thread!

One of my favorites from the episode where DJ started going to church:

Darelene: DJ, do you know why we curse so much?

    DJ: Why?

    Darlene: SHUT THE HELL UP!

The way she just starts eating again just cracks me up.

    Another Darlene gem:

When Becky got busted looking at Dan's Playboys.  Darlene is picking on Becky and Becky hits Darlene:

    Darlene "OWWW, you sexy thang!"

    Just hilarious!

Edited because I can't type today.

  9. I agree about Samantha's jewelry..blech!  But there are a few times when I thought KC looked absolutely age-appropriate and gorgeous!  One that stands out is the dress she wore when during the party at Richard's house in the Hamptons (when she threw the melon, lol).  The other is the black dress she was wearing in AC when she was running up the stairs in the pearl thong, haha.
