  1. I wish I could figure out why I can't quit this show.  I really am so sick of it.  Jill, Jess and Melissa's (even Holly's to some extent) behavior on last night's episode made me sick to my stomach.  I kept telling myself that it's scripted/edited but for some reason that makes it worse.  And Brynn's WTF look when Jess said "last week she looked like Jojo, this week she looks like Maddie" really proves to me that some of these kids are not in on the joke.  And OMG, the "cool club"?  Seriously, Jess?

I have so much more to say but I'm sure others will say it for me.

My greatest wish (well in regards to my tv watching universe) is that ratings soar when "Triple M" is gone.  I will stubbornly continue to watch just for that reason.

The moms are horrible. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Edited to add something positive.  I loved the look of the girls in the group dance.  They all looked beautiful in the color they were wearing and I loved the hairstyle.  Very flattering on all of them.  Nia, despite not being super-tiny like most of the rest of them, really has an adorable figure.

  2.

Has any of these women lost their marriages due to abandonment?  They have left their families behind and now that the show is ending, how is it going to work?

OMG, and can you imagine how awful most of them will be when they have to return to normal life?  That will be UGLY -- particularly in the Vertes household.

  3. I would never, ever root for a child to fail but Melissa is pushing me to the brink.  Her smugness and haughty attitude bring me "this close" to hoping Maddie doesn't make it -- just to wipe that shit-eating grin off of Melissa's face.  I hate myself for it because it isn't Maddie's fault.  I think she's a beautiful, gifted girl. I always thought Melissa was a bit of a crazy stage mom, but in the beginning you could see the (well-deserved) pride in her daughter above everything else. It's moved beyond this now...it's as much, if not more, about Melissa.  It makes me sick.  I'll miss Maddie and Mack but if the trade off is that they're taking Mama Rose (and her attorney) with them, I can live with that.  I would love to see this show go up in ratings after they're gone (even though, per Melissa, she and her daughters are the reason the show is successful -- suck it!)

It's the editing, you say?  Well, then Melissa is getting screwed and maybe that's what her attorney should be concentrating on.  Maybe he could work on Jill's editing, too.

That said, I really do wish both of those girls the best of luck. I hope their mother's shenanigans don't cost them what they really want.

  4. Jill is an insane, deluded, bullying beyotch.  If it's real she needs to quickly get some help.  If it's an act to get screen time than she obviously doesn't realize how much it's going to backfire on her.  Who is going to want to work with Kendall after seeing this shite?  If it's producer manipulation she should sue.

  5.

Did anyone else catch Melissa saying winning the PCA was the best moment of "our life." I get why it would be a great moment for her as a mom, but she doesn't share a life with Maddie.

You said a mouthful right there!

  6. Sorry to start a new thread about this....mods feel free to delete if necessary :)

Is there some place I can get the podcasts in episode order?  I've been listening at the gym and just plucking whatever is closest to the top in the forum.  I'm doing the Biggest "Again with This" Loser challenge and it would be nice to be able to listen to them in order.  I save them for the gym and now I literally cannot wait to work out so I can hear them, lol.

  7. I'm late to the party but I must say these podcasts are everything. I listened to this one at the gym. I got major side-eye as I giggled and snorted. When Dylan told Brenda in the clip "I would have had you up here months ago" and Sara said "F@ck off", God as my witness I almost fell off the treadmill. The workout flew by. Please keep making these and I have no doubt I'll meet my goal weight. Bravo.

  8. Not gonna lie, Sarah's random reference to The Real World really makes me wish that awful, awful episode where David makes everyone record a Real World parody (complete with Brandon as Puck; like, of course) wasn't so far away from where we are now.

New challenge idea: Five pieces of acting so terrible you begin to think Tori Spelling got cast based on her actual talent.

Assuming we can choose from any season for this, here is my top 5:

    1. Any time Noah is angry.
    2. Any time Noah is drunk.
    3. Any time Noah is getting "frisky".
    4. Any time Noah is on his high horse.
    5. Any time Noah speaks.

Bonus answer: Any time Noah is on the screen.

To summarize, Vincent whats-his-name makes Tori Spelling look like Sir Laurence Olivier.

  9. So much to say about this episode I need to use bullets:

    • That coven actually made me feel a little sympathy for Abby.  Yes, she can be an absolute terror but I thought most of their criticisms in this episode were largely BS.  What Abby has going on outside of this show is very serious.  Anyone who has ever been in that kind of situation whether it be legal, financial, health, whatever knows that when you're in the middle of it you can literally not care about, or focus on, anything else.
    • Wah, wah, you didn't watch Maddie on the "Ellen" show!  You're sooo jealous of her.  And the other moms piling on?!  WTH?  As the poster above me so accurately asked, what happened to the indignation at the blatant favoritism?
    • This is not the first time a dance has been recycled so I don't know why all of a sudden it was an issue with the group dance, other than to fit the "Abby is crazy and doesn't give a sh$t" narrative.  I thought the group dance was fantastic.
    • Maybe I'm missing something but I really don't understand how the solos were any more "phoned in" than every other solo ever done on this show.  And I thought they were all done well.
    • If there is a season 7 I hope Jill, Melissa and Jess have taken note of their hair issues.  I'm normally not one to criticize appearance but the god awful frizzies and obvious extensions simply enhance their witch-like character and demeanor.
    • All of that said, we know that most of the drama is scripted. Every once in a while the producers let something slip through.  I found it very heart warming when Abby told Nia "I'm always proud of you."  I suspect that one sentence shows us a much truer picture of her relationship with those girls.

  10. I didn't catch the whole show, but I did see enough of it to catch Jill's new "buzzword" and go all Samuel L. Jackson from Pulp Fiction.  "Say "brand" again!  Say "brand" again! I dare you!  I double dare you, m$%^F%^&*er!"

Mackenzie stood out in the hip hop dance and I seriously think if she focused on that she could have a career.

The moms suck.  Jill is insane.  That is all.

  11. My thoughts - good god that pancake make-up on Melissa was thick and I could still see her bad skin and wrinkles.

God, yes!  Although to be fair, widescreen HD doesn't do most of them any favors.  Jill is another one.  And I say this as someone who wouldn't look great on widescreen HD either ;)

Sorry, Melissa, too little too late.  I happen to be one of those people who believe that this show is 90% scripted.  However, whether real or written, her blatant favoritism of Maddie has been glaring for the entire run of this show.  The only reason she's standing up for Mackenzie now is because Maddie isn't there.  If Maddie were there, Mackenzie would still be "whats-her-name".  I have two daughters who are both pretty serious dancers.  I could never, ever, ever place more importance on one than the other.  Ever.  Not even if it was scripted.  Not enough $$ in the world.  Melissa goes from not saying a peep about the way Mackenzie is treated to full-on fishwife mode.  I'm not buying it.  I'm not crazy about anyone on this show (or myself for continuing to watch it) but I really can't stand Melissa.  She's worse than Abby, in my opinion.

  12. I'm a bit confused.  The last episode made it clear that Lady GaGa hasn't married anyone since March.  However, she is a countess and hasn't married since she gave birth to Bartholemw.  HOW DID THIS LADY BECOME A COUNTESS?

This is a very good question. That said, the reason I like this show is because I decided to not ask the good questions and to just enjoy the fun moments. And there were a bunch of them in last night's episode.  Iris's douchebag comment to the porno people, Liz's interaction with Elizabeth and her objection at the wedding, every scene Evan Peters is in, Miss Evers trying to warn Will about the countess.  Oh, and lots of Matt Bomer never hurts either.

I think this is the reason I liked the almost universally-reviled Coven.  There were so much fun stuff in that season.  The dialog -- "The magic box lies!!!", "she probably got wasted and offered the Grim Reaper a hand job" "She's off with that half-baked Beetlejuice Papa Legabooboo", Myrtle Snow, the New Orleans porn and the use of music -- especially Stevie Nicks singing "Seven Wonders" while the girls studied for the test.  I also think that's why I wasn't a huge fan of Freak Show -- other than Dandy and Gloria that season was very light on those kinds of moments.

The main issue I have with this season is the Skinemax-style sex scenes.  I am no prude but it's really, really over-the-top to me.  Baby Girl RalyWilmy said it seems like they show it so graphically just because they can and they have Lady Gaga who's willing to do it. I totally agree.  A little bit of that goes a long way and I wish they'd tone it down.

Overall, I really like this season, though.

  13. If it wasn't for Yo's story line this thread would only have like 10 posts instead of being three pages long.  I hope she goes away just so I don't have to sort through all of those posts to get to the funny, snarky stuff :)

I thought it was great season opener.  No Brandy or Kim is such a relief!  I'm hoping those new housewives don't have much screen time - or are more interesting than they seemed in the previews.

  14. Yay, they're back!  I was a little apprehensive...afraid in Season 3 it would seem like they were trying really hard to be "on".  But it didn't disappoint!  My people are as hilarious as ever!

I have to watch it again to be able to come up with the good quotes, haha.

I've always liked Julie and Brandy but in the past I didn't really dig how they make fun of EVERYTHING...like it made feel stupid for liking anything.  But they really are funny as hell!

  15. Finally catching up and just watched this one.  This seems to be a slightly unpopular opinion but I loved the drama class scene!  The Piper/Alex stuff was kind of lame but the other stuff was comedic gold!

    • Healy's "YOU DUMB BITCH!" to Alex
    • Chang: "That's not a phone, it's a puppy."  "That's not a phone it's a d$ck!"  And Lorna's frustration just cracked me up.
    • During Alex and Piper's exercise, Suzanne making the air quotes when Piper said "grocery store"
    • Cindy's "Nah, that's a d$ck" and then everyone cracking up (I was watching at the gym and almost fell of the treadmill at that one!)

This is such a great ensemble cast.  I wish they would do more scenes with so many of them together.  It's so much more interesting than some of the side plots.

I can't wait to keep watching!

  16. Just watched the episode.  I first want to say thank god for the lifetime app on my Apple tv.  I can go through this sh#t show without commercials.

I can't really add much more to what everyone has said here.  I did want to mention that every time someone bleated "it's Kendall's week" I said "A day.  Ya get a day."  a la Carrie from Sex and the City when Charlotte was getting married and kept saying it was her week.

Speaking of Kendall, I find it interesting that, while she lacks charisma when dancing, she has more charisma in her talking heads than all of the other girls put together.  She seems very comfortable on camera.

I just don't know what else to say anymore, Dance Moms, other than "I wish I could quit you!"

  17. I don't care if it's scripted, Melissa is hateful.  To me the fact that it's scripted almost makes it worse.  Poor, poor MackZ.

Abby is a bitch.  The way she treats JoJo and Nia is despicable.

I know these are not new opinions but this show puts me at loss for words.

My 10-year old had some words, though.  "Melissa needs to go to jail." lol

  18. Abby's behavior in LA is so bizarre and this episode I watched her a bit closer.  She looks, acts, and sounds to me like she's doing some self-medication in LA that she isn't doing in Pittsburgh.  It would explain her very odd behavior of dumping a purse and looking for not needed earrings and playing with a pile of paper instead of rehearsing the dances.  Also that rambling excuse when she'd already said she wouldn't be at the competition was a classic for substance abuse.

She was clearly wearing earrings at one point during this scene.  That might have been bad editing, though.

  19. It reminds me of the movie "Rock of Ages."  Double the E, double the Z double the flava!  Lol.

The whole thing is totally ludicrous.

lol @ pop stardom. Quit trying to make this happen.

And what's up,with Mack-Z and Kendall K? i can't even figure out what then Abby is trying to rip off with these.

It reminds me of the movie "Rock of Ages."  Double the E, double the Z double the flava!  Lol.

The whole thing is totally ludicrous.

Sorry for the weird post.  I don't really know how to do the quote thing :/

  20. God above, Abby and Melissa's desire to live through Maddie was on full display last night.

Melissa: "I think it really sucks that I'm stuck in Pittsburgh because Lifetime is making me stay here and shoot this shitshow.  If it wasn't for that I would say 'screw the team and my other daughter, what's-her-name' and be in NYC in a hot minute."

Abby: "I'm pretending that I'm here because I love your daughters but in actuality Lorne Michaels wouldn't allow me within 100 feet of the studio"

They both suck. I don't even care at this point that it's scripted.  To me, that's even worse.  I have a daughter Mackenzie's age and it breaks my heart to even think about DELIBERATELY treating her that way. WTF, Melissa?

Here's hoping Mackenzie can eventually rise above this crap and have a healthy and normal life.  Same goes for Maddie.

  21. So viewers have put up with Abby's shenanigans for four seasons and now Lifetime is rewarding us by letting us watch her crack up.  Christ on the cross, she's ready for her close-up, Mr. DeMille.

I don't know how much of this show is scripted at this point but I do not feel that Abby was acting.  Woman needs a time out.

At the end of every show I tell my daughters I'm not watching any more because I hate to feel like I'm contributing to continuation of this shit show.  But I keep watching so maybe I'm the crazy one. :/

Oh, and Holly?  She has treated your child like this since Day One (at least on the show).  You can scream and yell all you want now but you have no one but yourself to blame for not getting her out of that abusive situation a long time ago.
