  1. What did I just watch? Nothing about this episode make any sense. Why was the father featured so little? Presumably it's his money that is bankrolling the whole thing. For a hotel that size, where was all the staff? The meeting mostly consisted of the kitchen and serving staff. Gordon spent no time at all on how the hotel fits in the local community. Who is the clientele? How should the hotel market itself? Who owned it before? The staff talked about how they had been there for 2 years, but the sisters only took over 9 months ago. How much did they pay for the hotel? How much are they losing a month? What do the rooms cost? No time was spent on the actual business. As for the sisters playing up the craziness for the camera, the staff anger seemed genuine.
  2. There's a Reddit thread in r/hellskitchen where people claimed to have attended the taping of the finale featuring Scott and Joy. This raises all kinds of questions about her bizarre departure a few episodes ago.
  3. I'm surprised he didn't go more ballistic about the quality of the food, and the lack of a breakfast menu. That said, the pool menu sounded like a good compromise. I doubt people plunking down money for a boutique hotel in a nice little city will want to stay in for dinner when they can go explore local restaurants, but they would probably eat while lounging around the pool. The Fox drama dial was turned down to a normal level relative to Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares. I hope they find us some owners to root for who are not total losers at running a business. The Ramsay-Fox strategy seems to be to find people who deserve to fail, shower them with money and obvious advice, and then pretend like the businesses will succeed.
