Today's episode was so jam packed with amazing stuff that I don't even know where to begin.
So I guess I'll begin at the beginning. Michael has a thing for cinnamon in his coffee drinks, now WHO knew THAT?
No one, considering Michael is only on Show to carry water for what would laughingly be called front-burner stories.
QuoteLauren has leopard print winter wear! Is it de rigueur to have coffee at the coffee shop before having breakfast at Society? Does anyone ever have cheese for breakfast? The pace of Show today just had me wondering.....
Peculiar restaurant scenes, I'll admit. But you can't have Michael without Lauren to make sexxxy noises at each other and point out the obvious to Phyllis and Jack.
And no one is fooled that a crumb of carbs or animal by-products cross the lips of any of the actors without purging or strenuous exercise.
QuoteMysteries were revealed today, things I didn't even know I'd been wondering about for years. For instance, why does Nick eschew toast with his eggs BUT has waffles with his bacon? Gluten free one day, gluten the next? Who IS this guy??
The same guy who imagines himself the dented, put-upon ex-hero as Phyllis' camp follower and bed mate.
That he only chooses between two entrees from Society's breakfast menu demonstrates Nick is an unimaginative creature of habit. And that's not a surprise.
What was surprising was Phyllis warming up to give Nick a lashing because he's a bore, and she's she's been aware of that for years.
QuotePhyllis hates Nick's family. I'd forgotten. Happy Show reminded me. I do wonder why they weren't stabbing each other with forks, though.
Phyllis deliberately broached the subject because she was spoiling for a fight, and she proceeded to tear him apart in public on a subject they have always disagreed.
What's the point of rehashing old battles with the two losers?
QuoteDid you all see that Noah got a text and didn't tell Tessa what it was???? Oooooo, the mystery grows. Will he next ignore an email?
Noah's become a bore, deflecting discussions about London and how long he's staying in Genoa City. Fess up or block the caller you don't want to talk to ... And stop salivating over your step-sister's girlfriend.
QuoteJack said Phyllis was amazing. Phyllis said Jack was amazing. Lauren said Michael was amazing. Michael said Lauren was amazing. Lauren said Phyllis wasn't exactly amazing and then Jack....BIT HIS LIP.
If Jack says Phyllis is amazing, successful and without flaw often enough will it make it so?
What am I saying? Jack has been through this plenty of times with Phyllis, and she remains the same bigoted, self-absorbed, insecure, dishonest, vindictive succubus she's always been.
Jack's magical thinking is a powerful thing, and has lead him astray with his many love interests. And Jack remains a patsy to Phyllis' self-inflicted Woe Is Me! handkerchief wringing and dubious sexual charms.
At this point, Jack and Phyllis deserve to make each other miserable again.
QuoteWhat will people do with their time now that there's no reason to drop in at the Chancellor Mansion uninvited and/or unwanted?
TIIC can mothball the set, and throw the saved production money on random hotel room/housing sets leading to the recovery of Chance Go Boom!
QuoteI need answers.
My mind was reeling by the end of episode.
There are times when I really do think Show is actually TOO good.
My mind was reeling but that was due to drinking tea.

My post was a cry for help.
Show is killing my brain cells, one, by one, by one, by one....... Though I do think a good Chateau Vin de Fromage would go very nicely with what's on screen these days.
It'd go perfectly with a slice of dominique salami and a baguette baby blanket.
Abandon hope ye who enter here ...

So ButtBiscuit's response to Lily's anger, to draw her into the blame is to say, "You told me to do what I had to!" There's not a 10 year old anywhere who wouldn't recognize that for what it is. "BUT THAT'S WHAT YOU SAID" is the defense of every child when they know they messed up. I don't feel very sorry for Lily, though. All the warning signs were there of Billy's fuckupery being in full swing and she seemed to think she could do a little motherly scolding and then take him to bed Game of Thrones family style and all would be well. She should have watched that show all the way to the end.
Lily should have told Jill No Way In Hell! to working with NotBilly from the start.
Lily worked at Brash and Sassy when he depth charged Victoria's company by purchasing low quality/tainted materials under the excuse You told me to bring production expenses under budget! -- Told to Victoria when the poor quality products were discovered on customer shelves.
QuoteIf she sticks with him then she deserves what she gets.
Lily was Ride or Die with Cain for years, then she killed Hillary 1.0/fetus, convicted of vehicular homicide and went to prison. Somewhere in that miasma, she was finally done with Cain and divorced him.
TIIC are writing Lily as a NotBilly's enabler, same as she was with Cain. Even with this corporate mess, she doesn't seem to be done with him ... yet.
QuoteIf it was anyone other than Rey Rey I might not feel this way, but isn't it an abuse of power for him to be shadowing Adam just because he doesn't like the guy? I get not liking Adam, believe me, but Rey Rey is just begging for it. Besides, he should be spending more time looking after Sharon who is obviously suffering badly from frozen face syndrome.
Someone went overboard on the Botox and Restylane, and has reached the precipice of Uncanny Valley. SC's face is as rigid as a manikin's.
And I'm way over cocktail sequins for work and daywear.
Our corporate security officer worked for the NSA in a former life. And he observes everyone with a gimlet eye. Det. Rey Rey has every reason to speculate over AA's intentions and activities (an obvious threat, regardless of the pacific exterior Atonal projects) and NotBilly (inveterate liar, entrenched fuck up and yellow journalist pretending to publish The Truth as personal opinion).

People wearing face masks pass by posters reminding precautions against the coronavirus at a subway station in Seoul, South Korea, Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021. Dumb-zz Abby wanted the baby so bad, now shes pawing him off on everyone
When Abby was telling Ashley she realized she was unbalanced and couldn't care for Bowie, that's why she left him with Darvon, it was an excellent opportunity for Ashley to ask if Abby's mental state was so precarious, why would she believe her decision to give Bowie away was a wise one.
And why did Ashley and Victor (Bowie's legal guardians) leave Bowie with Darvon? Because tomorrow Abby would see sense and return him home? It appears in today's episode Victor doesn't know Abby has left home to get her melon straight.
Abby's off her pins but there are plenty of people who don't have any other agenda other than to care for the infant available to her. Darvon, and Mariah, both are invested in Bowie for all the wrong reasons; they both believe Bowie is more their child, not Abby and Chance's.
I imagine that Mariah is going to be resentful when she finds out Abby left Bowie with Darvon and his village of idiots.

Polish border guards stand near the barbed wire as migrants from the Middle East and elsewhere gather at the Belarus-Poland border near Grodno, Belarus, Monday, Nov. 8, 2021. Poland increased security at its border with Belarus, on the European Union's eastern border, after a large group of migrants in Belarus appeared to be congregating at a crossing point, officials said Monday. The development appeared to signal an escalation of a crisis that has being going on for months in which the autocratic regime of Belarus has encouraged migrants from the Middle East and elsewhere to illegally enter the European Union, at first through Lithuania and Latvia and now primarily through Poland. I thought when two black holes met, there was supposed to be a collision of immense power that sucked all matter and light for billions of light years around. I know, from what I've read, it would be cataclysmic if such a thing were to happen.
So why didn't the universe collapse when ButtBiscuit and Rey Rey shared such an extensive scene today? Testosteronal suckage was on major display today with those two dead-eyed posers postulating in Lily's office. ButtBiscuit is repulsive on a good day but Rey Rey was moving hard into that territory with him trying to investigate...what, exactly?? This is the same guy who kept saying "There's not enough evidence to worry yet" when Mariah was gone for weeks but at the first hint of something with Adam he finally gets that special feeling?? (I wanted to say "erection" but I felt that would be wrong. So wrong.)
Both he and ButtBiscuit can dissolve into planetary dust, the sooner the better.
I expected that they would whip their dicks out and Lily would be the unfortunate judge with a magnifying glass and micrometer.
They were all tools. Each in their own special way. NotBilly's unconvincing walk-back excuses and steaming pile of lies, then telling Det Rey Rey he was planning to blackmail Victor and Atonal was beyond stupid. Lily almost giving away the rest of NotBilly's entire blackmail plan; she should be better at playing along with a professional liar like NotBilly after being married to Cain. It's hard to believe but Det. Rey Rey was the better of the three, but that was a low bar to scale -- He smelled mendacity and pinned NotBilly to a spreading board for his insect collection.
QuoteShow had two good scenes today. I appreciated Nina sharing her grief with Abby, and I very much enjoyed Nyah's interaction with Amanda.
On the first, Nina bared her heart to Abby with compassion and honesty and Abby met her with the same. So Abby's response to Nina telling her that helping care for Dominic and Abby is all that's getting her through losing her son is to GIVE THE KID TO DEVON???
I've been waiting for Nina to finally come clean about her feelz for Chance Go Boom! It's not like she got used to his being Go Boom! the first time she thought he was dead.
Bowie is Nina's saving grace, and has volunteered many times to help Abby and care for him.
The preview of Abby at Darvon's door to hand Bowie over to him, with Super Lawyer Hillary 2.0 watching the exchange closely announces bad days ahead for Bowie.
If Abby is so depressed and unbalanced that she's handing Bowie over to Darvon instead of her family, then it's high time Team Baby take up arms against one of their own to protect Bowie from becoming becoming a bone of contention in family court. Darvon has a lawyer that is ready to overturn the surrogacy contract he originally signed.
QuoteWith the second, I really enjoyed the actor playing Nyah. She was terrific. I don't give a rats ass for the storyline but it was a really good standalone moment, due to her acting. That's much appreciated in the desert of delight Show currently is.
As disinterested I am with Hillary 2.0s bio-family drama (The story is all talking about activities, no showing any action, and that's a bore), Naya (Ptosha Storey) does a great job with the dross TIIC have written for her. She's usually the most compelling in her conversations with Hillary 2.0 -- Exemplary job when working with a habitual scenery-chewer like Mishael Morgan.
QuoteI ff'd pretty much every scene with Devon because I'm beyond my last nerve with the banal, monotone, Hallmark Card, self-serving bullshit he serves up to one and all as if he's the head chef at an all you can eat vomitorium. Abby just brought you your Cracker Jack prize, asshole, now enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe he can see if Harmony and Tucker can come babysit since biology is so important now.
QuoteI hope Lily takes all her important papers home every night since I expect Victor and Adam will change the locks on her office once they buy ChanceComm at the fire sale.
<snerk>
Lily is way over her head in NotBilly's latest disaster, and Chance Dot Com being pirated by Newman Media is her latest failure to manage CCC and NotBilly's worst proclivities.
That's what happens when you fuck the help.
QuoteI don't even get what that scene with Sally and Adam was. Show, don't mess this up too, okay??
If it was to demonstrate that Sally is so blinkered by her fashion design ambitions she thinks she works for the only division of Newman Media ... That dressing down by Chloe was a waste of electrons. All life lessons go over Sally's head.

I've gone from mostly liking Devon to wishing Hilary hadn't died and he was having to live his entire life with her. THAT'S how much I can't stand him right now.
They were a ghastly couple, and Darvon deserved being scalded by the tongue-lashings Hillary 1.0 spat at him. He was her doormat until he finally crawled away, to realize he couldn't live without being used as a whipping boy for her neurotic insecurities.
Darvon taking a poll by the very people that would support his actions to take Bowie from Abby was revealing. By painting the Chancellor Mansion as a snake pit of mourning, and without pursuing a negative vote, Darvon thought certain that his mission to claim Bowie was just, even though he knew he had no legal grounds to remove Bowie from Abby or her family. Ashley firmly and politely told him Hell No, and put him in his place. Immediately after their conversation, Ashley should have called Victor to rally round his troops to shutdown any further action by Darvon.
If there's any one thing that should happen to change Bowie's environment, is to hire the invisible nanny on a full-time basis as the one person not emotionally tied to Chance Go Boom! and totally devoted to caring for Bowie, and stop having Bowie try to nap or be on display in the living room; people coming and going through the front door, activity from the kitchen, phone calls, dramatic conversations, Abby not getting rest in her own room are all are contributing to Bowie being restive and off-schedule.
7 hours ago, peacheslatour said:I kind of get Darvon's feeling of propriety, the baby is his biological child. And I get Mariah too, you get really really attached to that life inside you. If anyone. Abby is less bonded to Lil Honey Baked Ham than they are. Sorry if this is UO.
I tend to agree with this ^ because much of Darvon/Mariah's obsession is of Abby's own doing. By making Bowie a Team Baby Rabies product, Abby made everyone on the Team a shareholder in Bowie, though Darvon and Mariah alone signed contracts declining all rights and responsibilities.
When Abby's expectations for her self-styled Happy Family didn't go as planned (Hoodwinked by Stitch, kidnapping, Mariah in emotional/hormonal freefall, Darvon hovering over Bowie, Chance Go Boom!). Caring for a newborn became something else that also didn't go as planned, and others took up the hard work of childcare. Abby's response to everything associated to Bowie has been emotional and reactive. I expect Abby to be all over the place emotionally a few days after the news of Chance Go Boom!, but Darvon needs to take several steps back. I'm disgusted with Darvon treating Bowie like a borrowed casserole dish.
Darvon will never possess Bowie, if Abby, Victor and Ashley have anything to say about it. If he wants to replicate the baby he lost with Hillary 1.0, he's living with her twin sister. Knock her up.

I’m sorry to say this, but Abby, go fuck yourself. Mariah is good enough to agree to be your “incubator” but she’s not good enough to take care of Bowie?
Mariah was a terrible choice as surrogate and milk producer. And that has proved out by her untreated PTSD from the kidnapping and continued hormonally-induced hyper-monitoring of Bowie. Everything is a threat to Bowie even when he's surrounded by family according to Mariah.
Maria actually thinks she's Bowie's mother in spite of the fact he's not biologically tied to her. This is not to discount the intense bond women have during and after pregnancy, but after the kidnapping , Mariah should have gone into therapy with anyone not Sharon's Concierge Counseling Service. She should have been allowed to have her breasts dry off, and Abby go to a La Leche League mother's milk dispensary.
The main issue with Mariah returning to the Chancellor Mansion to care for Bowie is that she's publicly demonstrated her mental fragility and is not capable of emotionally separating herself from him. Continued long-term contact with Bowie will end in tears and further heartache for Mariah. It will tear her relationship apart with Tessa as her depression and Bowie-obsession comes to a head.
QuoteThere are plenty of other people to take care of him like Devon for instance.
Devon isn't a good candidate either. He hides his fixation on Bowie, handing out friendly sermons, but is determined to get his paternal way on what is best for the ham log.
Darvon is as obsessed with Bowie as Mariah, but isn't seen as emotionally fragile or threatening to Team Baby and Abby's family.
QuoteAbby, you’re self center in being ignorant about Mariah’s feelings. Nina also doesn’t want Mariah to take care of Bowie because of her attachment to Bowie but Nina ignore Devon’s strong attachment to Bowie. Devon is a little more stealthy about it.
Abby is emotionally all over the place; she went from determined to race off to Spain to find Chance to weeping acceptance that he's dead. She's a mess and should be allowed to mourn Chance and that her Happy Family dream is a shambles.
Darvon needs to keep his expectations for Abby to himself and shut the fuck up. His exploits mourning Hillary 1.0 was months of epic chaos and he has nothing to offer Abby except silence and bus his own dishes.
Darvon is spinning some idea in his shaved head to remove Bowie from Abby, even though he signed a contract (drawn up by Hillary 2.0) declining all parental rights and obligations to the product of his sperm donation.
He's concerned about Abby's ability to care for Bowie. Bowie is Darvon's only focus of concern. There are plenty of people to care for Bowie (Nina, Ashley, Invisible Nanny) while Abby pulls herself together. Taking Bowie away will destroy Abby, and start a war with Victor, the Newman's and Abbott's that everyone will regret.
QuoteI believe by not giving Mariah the ability to take care of Bowie would be more harmful to her psyche.
Mariah is still suffering from PTSD and separation anxiety from Bowie. She needs therapy, perhaps medication. It would be unconscionable to allow Mariah to continue her Baby Rabies obsession by using Bowie as an emotional panacea to fix what ails her.
Allowing Maria more than supervised walks in the park with Bowie won't allow her to return to any kind of normal.

Has Nikki been (hopefully) drinking? For all the hounding she does of Adam, she's married to a literal Grandpire who takes pleasure in making people's lives miserable. In fact, I really don't gethow we're supposed to believe Adam is in need of redemption while Victor of all people gets to walk around getting his ass kissed.
Atonal Adam isn't in need of redemption because he's the same malicious cretin he's always been, wearing the costume of a normal human being. He never felt he needed to do the hard work of paying for his past criminal behavior or neurotic need to punish Victor and eliminate the rest of the Newman's so he can be the last Newman standing.
Several people are still skeptical of his normalized façade and will never believe he's changed, but Victor needs Atonal to be his regular venomous self in order to destroy the threat of Chance Dot Com and crush NotBilly once and for all. And Atonal has been going along with most of Victor's plots, bidding his time, waiting for just the right time to ruin NotBilly and scoop up the remains of Chance Dot Com -- It will make Victor gloatingly happy (Atonal is a good little soldier in Victor Newman's private army!) to squash NotBilly like a bug and increase Newman Media's reach.
Sharon loves and has promised herself to protect Atonal regardless of what part he's playing because she's in fuck with him; she can't see the forest from the trees because she believes in the fantasy Atonal she created in her memory.
Nicki will never trust Atonal for all the times he's attempted to kill or usurp Victor and the Newman's; she has good reason to chew him out whenever she sees fit. He hasn't proved he's trustworthy to Nicki's satisfaction, and never will.
Nick is angry that Atonal fooled him with his Good Adam schtick. He's jealous and disgusted that Victor turned to Atonal to do his wet work for Locke-ness and thinks he's being benched, left out of the family because he was disloyal to the Newman's plans for Victoria. The manchild will never grow up.
The new Atonal Adam is the same old Atonal Adam. And he will show his stripes.

What part of blowing up a building full of government agents would lead you to believe that you are safe from meeting the same fate?
Being a reactionary to search for Chance Go Boom! is the same way Abby made poor choices and ended up with Rev. Darvon as a sperm donor and Mariah as the hormonally-crazed incubator, ending up with Bowie -- Who she seems to have no problem leaving behind without a thought to his care.
Granted, she has a nanny, and Ashley and Nina are in Genoa City for the time being, but what about Bowie? Suddenly the most important object of her fantasy Happy Family with Chance has become less than an afterthought now that she's decided she's the only person who believes Chance might still be alive.
It isn't a good idea to have Mariah to return to care for Bowie if Abby goes on this folly of a search for Chance. If Mariah gets her hands on Bowie for more than 20 minutes, she'll never let him go.
Rev. Darvon was less than convincing, and should have hammered into her feeble head that Bowie is her first priority. Nina has become Abby's enabler in mourning over Chance.
This sudden decision of Abby's to search for Chance is stupid on a grand scale. She doesn't speak the language, walking into a Spanish gang-related bombing of U.S. foreign spies with no guide or translator, weeping copious tears trying to find Chance Go Boom! because she thinks no one is trying to find out what happened to her wayward husband.
The person to handle overseas searches is Victor and his network of Black Ops soldiers and private investigators. Hire the right people with the right skills (something Abby is sorely lacking) and turn over every chamber pot and ashtray for Chance.
I wonder who Abby is really angry with; the government people that haven't found Chance yet, the people that accept Chance Went Boom! and is no more, or Chance for leaving his newly wed Abby for spy adventures that ended up with him killed in a explosion.

I’ve been meaning to ask this question for forever but why did Phyllis do that “caw, caw” thing flapping her arms up in the air when she was at Victoria’s hotel? That was so bizarre that it took my breath away. Thanks!

It was a waste of time, especially having to sit through all of the long boring "open enrollment" commercials. This writer really does not understand the concept of the Friday cliffhanger at all.
Y&R has been relying on that worn-out canard for so long, and it makes no sense in the interweb age where Spoilers are telegraphed daily and Canadian programming recaps exist.
QuoteB&B, on the other hand....definitely worth checking out, especially if you like Deacon!
I've always enjoyed Sean Kanan as Deacon, with the exception of the Dumpster Boink with Phyllis. But I can't put up with another reincarnation of Sheila Carter. Kimberlin Brown's scenery-chewing makes me want to use a sock full of batteries against her One For All, and All For Me noggin.

It's in the same aisle with the wine coolers and hard seltzer four packs ... All that college/post-hipster grog considered casual cocktails.
Abby should serve saccharine-sweetened, malt liquor-infused drinks. No one will notice the food.
The mention of Lola took up too much time on Show, and it smells like a recast. Noah is in need of an available female, so why not a new Lola? It has to be better than Noah's failed flirtations with Tessa.
Former Lola, Sasha Calle has moved on from Y&R.
