Why can't Beckett tell Castle about the Locksat investigation? Didn't they say they were going to work on it together in the fall finale? Why did the writers come up with this season long arc if they weren't going to actually address it properly in most episodes?
She told him in their first scene in Tone Death that she would loop him into the investigation when the time is right. They agreed in the finale that they'd not keep secrets from each other (aka I'm off to work with Vikram but you think I've got a meeting someplace else, etc).

It's a Beckett episode.Beckett will definitely make an appearance in 8x15, and she gets out of the precinct.

Looks like Seamus Dever is in "give no shits" mode. Sure, it may not be professional, but sometimes, the truth hurts.
Maybe it is the last season. It would explain why he is being so blunt.
Nah he's done that previously, so not that unexpected from him.

In regards to the ending, it wasn't tacked on, it was shot during the regular filming schedule for the episode, etc.

IMO, there's a good mixture of episodes to air after the break in terms of themes, etc. Definitely hitting different genres there.
On a side note, total spec here, but it wouldn't surprise me if they released a screener for 8.09 because of Corbin Bleu guest starring in it and to capitalise with airing after The Bachelor premiere, etc.

There is a reason why they needed to air The Last Seduction before this episode and the screeners have highlighted that. Pretty sure I stated that a while back in terms of scheduling and what would be a better fall finale.
But as they say you can believe whatever you want to believe.

I sent you a PM verdana, I heard what happened in the episode from somebody. You're going to love it.....lol. I wasn't sure if I should say it here, so decided not to.
edit: 2 different people I've spoken to, who have watched the screener, think that the episodes were deliberately reshuffled so this ending could happen. Maybe the negativity has had an influence? Impossible to know for sure of course
To my knowledge the episodes were always planned to air the way they have been aired. It was production wise as to why they were filmed out of order.

I don't understand this, I wasn't aware there were copywrite restrictions on things posted on this site, once something is out there it's out there and gets regurgitated on twitter and FB and other boards. People can read and anything on this topic after the interest the blind item generated was bound to get seized upon. Several guests have mentioned how they are obviously told in no uncertain terms to keep quiet about stuff so maybe the show's enforcer had a word.
I'm no means Hal. And I'll step out of lurking to say this. But it does get a bit tiresome sometimes to have information taken to other places on the Internet without credit. That's when it starts to breach the IP laws...

Some on twitter are already getting very excited at the idea of a Castle version of Mr and Mrs Smith as they dream up the various super hot scenarios for Castle and Beckett, have they been paying serious attention to Castle over the last few years on the sexy times front? The idea they're getting anything remotely akin to that is fanciful in the extreme, for starters Brad and Angie didn't have Rob "lets dim those lights people!" Bowman at the helm and secondly they'll probably have a stream of interruptions to contend with and assorted "fun" moments to kill any signs of heat/romance stone dead.
To be fair to those posters, Bowman hasn't directed an episode since PhDead...

Just clarification on what I said. I stated it before the confirmed changes came in (including preemptions). But since Cool Boys is a kind of a stand alone episode it is the reason why I thought originally it was odd to state it would be the finale before the official changes came through.Those are the posts Nadine made but I guess she based it on the episode numbers and not on what happens in the episode or their title.
Now back to lurking I go.

I'm there. Something has to be done I enjoy looking at pretty things and that wig is fugly and distracting.
It's a flashback to S6 when we Beckett's (SK) extensions on Castle vs. Lizzie's (MB) wig on The Blacklist. I remember the subsequent cheer in the following season premieres when they got rid of both. I can understand while Sister Cities was being shot, etc. The rest would have been a creative decision after that between Stana and Edward (hair).
Count me in on hoping the Nancy Drew series gets picked up. At least they've got a good producing team behind it, etc.

I read here (but can't find it) that either 8x07 or 8x08 is tentatively titled "Mr. and Mrs. Castle." Maybe for sweeps they renew their vows for their anniversary? Either that or Mrs. Castle is Alexis ;).

There may also be some weeks of no new episodes coming up, making the mysterious 8x07 the fall finale.
In the TV Line tidbit about the Winter finale it says 8.08 is the fall finale. Originally I would have said 8.09. But if it is indeed only 8, then 8.06 will now air in the Sweeps.

Interesting that the Headhunters follow up episode (aka Slaughter) will be the fall season finale according the TV Line interview.

They have just started filming the seventh episode.
They're filming the eighth episode.
But agree with what Hal said above it won't change the story, etc.

Not sure of the source, but Castle Chronicles notes that 8.07 is written by Hawley and directed by Holahan.
It's actually 8.08, they're filming it before 8.07.
Rob Kyker confirmed it when he posted a pic from the production meeting last week and Hawley reiterated he was writing the script the other day, when he mentioned doing rewrites on Twitter.

Well she got held hostage in a bank so she has had her in danger moment before, but yep no kidnapping for her. Gates has pretty much gone unscathed.
Well Gates' alter-ego didn't go unscathed in Raging Heat.

Just a general observation when looking at all the returning shows last night, every single show was down across the board when it came to the demo.

Was Stana off somewhere and couldn't film this first episode; pretty weird choice to open a season after all these months with one of the two leads absent and involved in yet another stupid, contrived "suspense" story - but I feel no suspense and zero interest at all in this story.
She was filming "Sister Cities".
