  1. If we are talking about Corrupt then Thea will fill in that role. She no longer believes anything her brother says. Felicity was in the first monologue but they changed their minds because she wasn't on the second one that was release during the break.

The monologue at the end of 2.09 was done by the director with (I'm assuming) knowledge of what the 2nd half entailed.

The 2.5 promo was done by the CW it was not conducted by the EPs or anyone affiliated with the show, it used scenes from 214-218. I would not look at anything put out by the CW as some sort of clue of the show's direction.

Going back to 209, both the Quentin and Roy aspects have been played out, we've seen Roy be destroyed by the Mirakuru and Quentin lose his job / go to jail. Obviously, neither was done directly by Slade but in I have to assume that their storylines were tied to the monologue, since there really wouldn't have been any real need/reason for these events otherwise.

I'm not sure how they're going to pull this off with Felicity in the series finale but I'd be really disappointed if they didn't attempt to fulfill the Felicity part of the monologue after they did the other two prongs. Granted, I actually expected Slade's monologue to set up this really elaborate story where Slade would play mastermind, pulling all these strings over several episodes. Instead we get 7 filler episodes (210-217) and the Slade stuff doesn't really pick back up until 218.

  2. Yeah, I always just assumed her body language in 218 was either internalizing her emotions or trying to comfort herself because she was worried/scared.

I remember big speculation after the episode was that Felicity was sick, dying, suffering some mental affects. People used those photos to link Felicity to Ivo's daughter saying she was starting to suffer the same mental breakdown as Ivo's wife.

I remember the speculation got so detailed that they even tried to link Felicity getting beat by the Clock King in 214 and losing Shrapnel in 210 as signs that her mental faculties were slipping.

Generally I think fans just put more thought into the show then the writers. LOL

  3. So that's where the card-counting comes from, Felicity was from Vegas. Maybe they do think long-term on this show after all.

I think it's more the reverse hey lets come up with a back story for Felicity. Wait we had her counting cards in the one episode lets make her from Vegas!

Quite honestly they could have gone with the card counting as being part of her genius/MIT background like that movie with Kevin Spacey.

  4. Wow, I heard recent stuff like Felicity was hiding a secret in 222 and that why she kept touching her head and was crying before Oliver started talking. Stupid me, i wasbwondering if Felicity had a concussion or something because of the accident, nope she's secretly evil and working for Slade.

In fact it's all one long con, Isabel telling Dig she wanted to put a bullet in Felicity's head just a way to divert attention, Felicity working with Star Labs to make a cure, a way to give Oliver false hope. Felicity running Isabel over with a truck...totally staged she knew Isabel would be OK. Felicity giving Oliver the hero speech, just getting him back in the game, so Slade could torture him some more.

In fact Felicity has been working for Slade the whole time, remember her fear of Kangaroos? Totally code for Slade.

  5. I can't figure out how they go from the city to the island. I think it would be a nice bookend to start and finish the season there but I can't see a reason WHY they would be there.

Honestly I have no idea it really doesn't make much sense especially when you factor in the fact that 2.23 is supposed to run in nearly real time.

The only thing I can figure out is that maybe the stuff on the island is a flashback to something that happened i the premiere? Or maybe the last scene is a flash forward setting up the S3 premier?

  6. There were some pictures posted, EBR took a photo of SA and his daughter while out on location (looked very much like the island set). then she posted two more photos from what looked like the Island set (one with a man who may have been David Ramsey).  There's also a picture that Marc G tweeted out which was definitely from the Island set that appeared to have EBR and SA sitting together along with an unidentified woman with dark brown hair.

There seems to be good indication that Oliver ends S2 back on the Island along with Felicty and Diggle...not really sure how that's going to work.

  7. As for the people who wondered why Felicity didn't run Isabel over again, that wouldn't be a good idea. She caught her off guard the first time. Now that Isabel knows she's there trying to hit her again could result in her leaping over the van or onto the hood or even taking out the engine block, resulting in her and Diggle being stranded. Better to just get out of there.

That's actually a good point.  I didn't think about it at the time, I just know that in video games (Halo, Gears of War) I tend to run "people" over and then back up for good measure.

  8. Not spoiler related but SA and EBR are the only two Arrow actors confirmed for Upfronts next week.  There might be others that aren't confirmed but these two will be there, if EBR was getting killed off she wouldn't be at the Upfronts, just like Colin Donnel wasn't there last year.

  9. Yes, I really hope Felicity has the cure and injects Slade with it, giving Oliver the opportunity to save the day.  I also wonder if perhaps Felicity will end up killing someone (a soldier) to save Laurel/Sara which will lead to the corrupt those he loves.

  10. I love that idea, Felicity Smoak : Bitch with WiFi, great title.

I mentioned this in the spoiler thread but I wonder if the "corrupt those he loves" comes into play by having Felicity kill someone to save another life.

I would certainly play into Diggles comment about nothing could make Felicity a bad person.

  11. I'm betting it's this. Or the scene in the premiere when Felicity accompanied Oliver in the board room at QC to try and save it. That the reason why Isabel has been so bitchy towards Felicity all season long is because it was Felicity that ruined her takeover plans by bringing Oliver back from the island (and Diggle, though I don't think she knows he was instrumental in that). Isabel would have succeeded way back in the beginning of the season if it weren't for the meddling of Black Driver and Bitch with WiFi!

Even if she knew that Diggle played a role in bringing Oliver back I can see her focusing her rage on Felicity.  Sadly it's probably some stupid female jealousy issue that they're going with, she'll target all of her hate on the other female in the room.  Unless there was a cut scene or something that shows "felicity's smug face" but I'm guessing it's more related to Felicity bringing Oliver back to save the company.

After last week I wanted Felicity to run Isabel over with the van and I'm glad I got to see that, awesome scene, just wished Felicity minded her video game rules, you have to run them over, then do a back up and run them over again.  LOL

Also loved Felicity's speech to Oliver in the Clock Tower, she used her loud voice.  LOL

  12. I don't think they would've gotten picked up if there was no Bruce Wayne, even the little one. But I do hope the series focuses more on Gordan and his occasional interaction with young Bruce. Just to show him looking out for him and building up to their eventual friendship as adults.

Actually, I have no problem with the Young Bruce, I actually thought the parts of the trailer that showed The Wayne family murder and Gordon dealing with finding the criminals and interacting with Young Bruce to be rather interesting.  It's when they seemed to add in all these other Batman characters...before they were costumed villains/heroes whatever that I started to be disappointed.  I really don't care about Young Selina Kyle or Young Poison Ivy, it just seems like they;re trying to throw every Batman name into the show just for wow factor.

Gotham, on the other hand, sounds like it's supposed to be about the police and the regular people during the last sane years of the city. Which actually sounds like an interesting show to me

This is what I wanted to see, Gotham before it became crazy town, the police force slowly being corrupted, yeah obviously they;d have to throw in a recognizable DC/Batman name but I would have preferred lesser known characters.  Instead it's The Riddler, Peguin, Poison Ivy, Catwoman...I'm sure Joker will show up before too long. It's just the more I hear about the direction their taking the less interesting I become.

  13. I'd much prefer Felicity have a (relatively) normal childhood but since this show doesn't know the meaning of it I'm guessing that her father is going to be someone that shows up on the Island at some point because obviously everything has to be tied to the Island.

  14. I'm not sold on the Gotham trailer it bugs me that they're brining all these Batman characters in a series that is pre-Batman.  Why do we need to see Teen Poison Ivy or Catwoman?  What are they going to give me some lame childhood love triangle or twe luv forever between tween Bruce and Selina?  Granted I know next to nothing about the series but I started losing interest when I heard all of the casting announcements (not the actors but the characters).

I would have preferred the story stay far away from Batman and focus on Gordon, create new villains or focus on lesser known (and older) Batman villains.  As of right now, I'm more interested in Constantine, unfortunately it sounds like that show isn't a sure thing.

As for Arrow, I'm guessing DC bringing Gotham to TV is the reason why the EPs are now trying to rip off Joss Whedon, can't keep delving into TDK well when there's an actual Batman (prequel) show on the air.

  15. I think my timing may be off for this to be true, but the way you put this made me wonder if the script didn't originally have those roles somewhat reversed, then they realised KC couldn't sell it, so they gave that speech to Paul Blackthorne instead (who, naturally enough, nailed it).  I suspect that EP comment was made long after the scene was actually filmed though, so in that case it still makes zero sense to me.  Quentin was the person I loved in that scene, not Laurel.

And this is where my massive confusion comes in.  Are they desperately trying to sell a lemon so they're attributing things to the character that aren't in the script/episode to tell/convince the audience that she's awesome?  Or are they simply watching a different show than I am and the way they saw the episode it was Laurel's beautiful motivation that would make us all love her  whereas I saw it as another reason to love Quentin even more?

  16. My big concern is that they're going to drop it or push it back again, keep dangling stuff for the fans but never really explore it.  I got that in S1 they couldn't do it because she wasn't a planned character.  However they promised more backstory and development for Felicity in S2 and then pushed it back, because it was "too big to include" this season with everything else going on.

I guess the finale will be a good judge, they keep saying that Felicity has a big role to play in the finale...if that's true it might mean they have something important lined up for her in S3.  However if her "big role" is simply telling Oliver that Star Labs has the cure or telling him how to use the device to spread the cure, I wouldn't count that as a "big role".

  17. Someone suggested that Laurel will be Arrowette

The first Arrowette (properly known as Miss Arrowette) is Bonnie King, a would-be sidekick and general nuisance to Green Arrow. She first appears in World's Finest Comics #113 (November 1960).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrowette

I know that they were joking but I think that would be hilarious if they went there with Laurel.  LOL
