I wonder if they regret having Alison Sweeney switch from Murder, She Baked series to Chronicle Mysteries series. Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention but it seems they are replaying the Murder, She Baked movies more on weekends than the Chronicle Mysteries movies, which I assume is because they are more popular. I've also noticed they seem to be replaying discontinued series like Flower Shop Mysteries and Fixer Upper Mysteries a lot, but rarely see Morning Show Mysteries, which is suppose to have a new movie filmed at some point.

It will be interesting how quickly they will be able to ramp up once they do get permission to resume. They might not be able to significantly expand the number of movies they normally have in production at the same time since I think they have a pool of crew members, including directors, that work on lots of their movies, one at a time. If they start hiring new people to work on them, they risk not getting the Hallmark feel, which is either a good thing or bad thing depending on your perspective.

I can't recall the last time a movie that wasn't either a mystery movie or a Christmas movie premiered on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel. I understand they either have run out of or about to run out of mystery movies to show, but wondering why they aren't saving these for main Hallmark channel, which is also running low on new movies - it seems a better fit.

The original weird younger guy was Perry Dell, who was replaced for 2 or 3 movies by his cousin Jason Dell, who was a more bland version - I seem to recall in the first one there was a reference to him being 'out of town'. Have not heard mention of why either are gone now - they have been essentially been replaced by Aurora's cousin Phillip. The writer only came back for one episode - the last one Martin was in and then disappeared again with no explanation. Then they introduced the current professor love interest. The older black man LeMaster disappeared with no explanation around same time they wrote out John, who was her mother's love interest. At least John got an explanation - he moved away after realizing her mother would never marry him. There is a woman Terry, who was the mayor until last movie, and a new club member Davis who seem to be filling their roles in helping with investigating. As far as newest movie goes, they really portrayed Lynn and Arthur as incompetent in how they allowed the theft to begin with and how they handled two of the suspects. ETA: Found a chart in this wikipedia article that shows which movies each character has appeared in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_Teagarden

I didn't pay attention to the start times of all the new mystery movie premieres in January, but know at least the first one was moved up to 8:00 pm. I can see the two February ones are back at 9:00 pm, proving once again they can't stick to their own scheduling plans (like starting the HMM Christmas movies premieres on Thursdays and Fridays before quickly shifting to Saturdays and Sundays).

Looking at the ratings for the 2019 Christmas movies, Candice Cameron Bure once again had highest rated movie - Christmas Town. She has done that for 5 out of last 6 years, only missing out in 2018. But Christmas Town only had 3.91 million viewers compared to the 2018 leader Christmas at Graceland which had 4.66 million viewers. For HMM movies, Kellie Martin and Colin Ferguson's Christmas In Montana led with 1.75 million, which was down from 2018 leader Once Upon A Christmas Miracle with 2.15 million. I wonder if Hallmark is going to try to do anything to stop the ratings slide or if the increased competition is going to continue to eat away at it's ratings.

Here's an article where some stars discuss possible upcoming Hallmark projects - not a lot of definitive news though. The one I am most interested is Nicki DeLoach is pitching a mystery series to Hallmark starring her and Michael Rady. Also interesting to read that Niall Matter thinks his 2019 Fall Harvest movie that ended up getting pulled from schedule will not air until next fall. https://www.ibtimes.com/11-hallmark-stars-reveal-their-new-2020-movie-plans-2884055

I haven't watched Hilarie Burton's Lifetime A Christmas Wish yet, but in her twitter stream today, she mentioned the idea of the supporting characters including a gay married couple was hers and that she had fought for this on 'other networks' and was shut down. Maybe this is part of reason why she hasn't appeared in a Hallmark movie in a few years (in addition to the fact that Lifetime has been letting her cast former One Tree Hill castmates in last couple movies).

It doesn't look like Matchmaker Mysteries did that well in the ratings. It had 1.11 million viewers - given Danica is suppose to be one of their top stars, guessing they were expecting more. For comparison, the two recent new Mystery 101 movies each had more than 1.4 million, while the latest Ruby Herring only had 0.90 million, which is around what Morning Show Mysteries usually gets. It will be interesting how the two new Crossword Mysteries do the next two weeks.

Cameron is still being advertised for a Christmas movie convention in New Jersey in early November. Unfortunately, I doubt he will be able to attend. They did add a few new stars like Erin Krakow, Nikki DeLoach, and Paul Greene in addition to previously announced stars like Lacey Chabert and Alicia Witt since I last looked. https://thats4entertainment.com/christmascon/

I did some research and found Hallmark Channel was available in 85 million households as of 2015 and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries was available in 56 million households - couldn't find any more recent numbers. Hallmark Drama was available in 20 million households as of March of this year while claiming to be on "a quick path to 40 million by year-end".

I don't think Hallmark Drama is always an extra $6.00 a month. It is a cable channel just like Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. It is up to your cable, satellite or streaming provider whether they carry it and, if so, which package they include it in. There are a lot of cable providers (including mine, Verizon FIOS) that do not carry it. It is the streaming-only 'app' Hallmark Movies Now that is only available for extra $6.00 a month (or $5.00 a month if pay a year at a time). Hallmark is getting greedy spreading their content across so many channels or app, which may back-fire if they are not careful.

Judging from this page on their "Hallmark Movies Now" streaming service website, I think most of the old Hallmark Hall of Fame movies are only going to be shown on it going forward. https://www.hmnow.com/movies/hallmark-hall-of-fame They seem to have done a very good job growing the cable channels and their brand, but I think they may be overestimating how many folks are willing to spend another $6/month to get their streaming service. I know I won't. But maybe they have done market research that shows different.
