Speaking solely for myself but that was just one of the worst culminations of a baby theft storyline I have ever seen. Terrible story, terrible sets, dreadful lighting, terrible writing, awful direction. At the end of the day, I really felt little to nothing when Theresa was reunited with her baby. Plus, Mel of all people got to tell her.
There was just so much wrong with this story from go. Every possible beat that could have been missed was. Why the hell have a baby theft story in the first place when the main culprit can't even be on the show during the gestation period. Compare this to the Nicole/Sami babyswitch and you will see how so much emotional resonance is missing. There almost seemed to be nothing at stake in a sense. There almost doesn't feel like much of an investment either way because we haven't seen anyone really bond with the baby either way. We didn't see Kristen get to carry the baby and bond with it that way. Give birth. No near misses. No almost caught. No nothing. The show didn't do Theresa any favors either. They kept being on the cusp of humanizing her but kept pulling her back to be the same golddigging selfish bitch who lashes out damn near unprovoked at everyone and then wonders why everyone's hates her with tears in her eyes. Oh and once in a while she would freak out over a pacifier. Why would I want either one of these women raising a baby? I guess Theresa is the lesser of two evils but is that the way I should be reasoning. Brady feels like a non factor. Then when the show could get the main actress back after the baby has been birthed it is only for a 10 day period?!? Plus those 10 days felt like half of them were a waste of Eileen's talent and time and an actual embarrassment. She did what she could with the material but damn, no one can spin shit into gold. No one.
The show shouldn't have had all the frigging gun waving and threats of shooting someone imminently when no one is gonna get shot. Seriously, just shoot 'em already Clint and Kristen. It just makes all the bad guys look all the more stupid and inept. The game of musical hostage was just ridiculous. First Melanie is tied to the rocking chair in the hidden nursery. Then in the dungeon with Brady. Theresa is then in the nursery, then moved to the dungeon and tied to Melanie, then moved again to nursery. How the hell resistant to knockout drugs is Theresa anyway? I hope she never needs surgery. They will need every anaesthetic from every hospital within a 5 mile radius to knock her ass out.
This story would have been impossible to save but perhaps having Marlena (and even John) get in on it earlier instead of dicking around with Will would have helped a bit. Marlena showing up on Kristen's doorstep needs some explaining because WAHHHH????
Melanie actually laughing, more than once, while tied up in a dungeon was just too damn much. There were times I was cool with her in detective mode earlier on during the story but WOW was she cringey and terrible during the story's culmination. It was like someone forget to tell her that this wasn't an episode of Saved by the Bell and that wasn't Zach she was shackled to and the dude with the gun ain't Screech. Half the time I expected her to utter Shaggy's catchphrase "Zoinks!"

Kate tries to convince Will not to write the article about Clyde.The only thing that could be shocking to Daniel is Nicole not begging and scraping at his feet. Hope Nicole tells that bitch to kick rocks!

To the Xander fans on here, he is not long in the Salem world...There is a snapshot of a script that is shooting soon and he is not on the cast list..My guess he turns out to be evil and Daniel..Dr God has to save Nicole from him..I hate that the sexy Xander is going to be sacrifice for Dan.....
I can't lie, I have cooled considerably on Xander. I don't mind him being a bad boy but this is not what I I envisioned when he joined the cast. I'm not here for a manhandling, ragey female flinger with a need for constant validation from a hypocrite like Victor (whose got no problem looking down on Xander while using his dirty companies to launder money and also taking profit off blood diamonds - have an ex-lax grandpa) while being jealous of the likes of Brady, the man with the IQ of potted plant and Daniel, the answer to a question no one asked. Still, to mirror what Boes said about Melanie vs. Abby in the current discussion thread, the greatest thing Xander has going for him right now is that he isn't Daniel. For that alone I have hopes that the writers don't damage him beyond repair like child rapey Clyde and turn him around somehow and make him a viable option for Nicole. In the beginning, EJ wasn't slated to be around for long either. Although at this point it doesn't seem as if Paul Telfer has gained the fans that James Scott did, but I am seeing a whole lot more Xander/Nicole shippers than I am Dan/Nicole (which appears to be zero to none).

The only scenes really worth a damn in yesterday's episode were Kate/Adrienne/Lucas and color me shocked but I'm liking the possibility of the Clyde and Will storyline. Yes, Adrienne is annoying and a hypocrite but I found what Kate did to her own son just for a frigging job, unforgiveable and her justifications for it are mind boggling. Lucas is still young and has kids to support and getting fired is not a good look on anyone's resume but she did it without compunction and a second thought for her own selfish needs. She deserves to be kicked to the curb by Lucas and stuck in hillbilly hell with Clyde.
Ben has been looking slightly, just slightly, less like a plastic play toy to me. I think it may have to do with the facial hair. I wonder if that voids his warranty.
Judi Evans really is a phenomenal actress. Not gonna sit here and say I ship Adrienne and Lucas but man am I glad that the actors have been given story and airtime. Lucas/Bryan especially has been treated like a red-headed stepchild by the writers so glad to see him get some material.
The bes thing about Mel continues to be that she's not Abigail. I don't know why it bugged me today, but everytime she's screech out "OW" while being dragged around and tied up because she banged her toesies into a table or something was just too cutsey to live. Which, apparently, she's not supposed to. But she will anyway. And we'll have more of her adorable KLUTZ with the Betty Boop mannerisms to look forward to.

I liked seeing Chad today. Billy Flynn has a charm to him, that for me outweighs ALMOST everything else in his storylines. And by "ALMOST" I do mean Abigail. I wish he'd escorted her from the Mansion using that giant kangaroo head of hers like a basketball.
All I can think is that Stefano is now running a carnival and he needs Abigail to headline his freak show as the Incredible Yapping Pinhead.

1,000x yes with Mel's main saving grace is that she isn't Abigail. Even with Mel's myriad of tics and wannabe Lucy antics I still don't cringe at the sight or mention of her name. This past episode I actually FF quite of few of Abby's scenes. I just can't take her preening and simpering around Chad. I. CAN'T. Her using any excuse to slither her way into the Dimera mansion is already tiring and this storyline just begun. Why was she even there this time? Did she realize she left a couple of dead skin cells by the fireplace and hair follicles and eyelashes between the sofa cushions? I wasn't fast enough on the draw with the remote and was painfully subjected to Abigail's lamenting why was Chad now pushing her away when before he was doing everything in his power to push them together. Thirsty much?!? Don't you have a manbot? DiMera peen must be some kind of divining rod (pun intended) to her Horton hoo-haa.
The only thing I can think of that would make Stefano suddenly so focused with Abigail is dementia. If Stefano's plans has devolved so much that they now need to include Abigail as an integral part of them than the Dimera dynasty is truly dead. From Sami to Abby. Talk about a downgrade. Like going from Michael Schumacher driving a Ferrari in a Formula One race to a monkey on a unicycle. You know it used to be kinda fun to snark on Abigail. She was love to hate for me. Now I feel like she is tainting Chad and the Dimeras and it just doesn't seem as fun anymore. I like Billy Flynn and I want a better story and scene partner for him. Plus the thought of a triangle with Abigail in the middle makes me nauseous. Can you imagine the self satisfied smugness that will now become KM's main facial expression? And dear lawd the interveiws.
Now that it has been announced that
Mel will be leaving
there needs to be another actress in that peer group. Not the biggest
Camilla/Gabby
fan but again, she ain't Abby so upgrade.
I can't always watch everyday, and will miss more once summer gets here. And as entertaining as your (ShadowSixx) regular recaps are, they can sometimes be confusing, especially if you didn't see the show that day. So, I definitely would appreciate your unbiased/nickname free daily recaps. That is if you have time do them, in addition to your *biased* ones. :)
The only nickname that confuses me is Failure, because seriously that could be apply to 1/4 to 1/2 the characters on the show. I always have to look for context when that nickname is used.

Spoilers for the month of May
JJ/Eve/Paige--JJ confronts Eve over her latest plan to ruin his relationship with Paige. A confrontation leads to a reveal.
Theresa/Brady/Melanie-- The baby comes home with Theresa and she's using her baby as a wedge between Mel and Brady. Where does Melanie fit in with this situation? Kimberly comes home and fights with Brady too.
Justin/Adrienne/Lucas --Justin returns to Salem while Lucas and Adrienne get even closer. Justin wants to make sure that Sonny gets with the right man too. Lucas gets a job offer and this puts him at odds with Kate.
Will/Sonny--They aren't doing well and Paul comes back....
Stefano/Marlena --This feud starts again after an event.
Daniel/Nicole/Xander/Eric/Serena --Nicole plays games with Xander which may cost her Daniel. Nicole realizes that her suspicions were right about Serena and more information comes out about her.
Chad/Abigail--Even though Abigail is with Ben, she's drawn to Chad.
Aiden/Hope/Rafe--Hope and Rafe work together to get information on Clyde and this puts Aiden and Hope at odds since Clyde is his client.
I am most disappointed by the Theresa/Brady/Mel spoiler. Just no!

I thought it was a little weird that they wrote in that Eve wanted all of Jen's men. Eve wanted Frankie (but I think that was a genuine crush, not simply because he "belonged" to Jennifer), but from the clips I saw on Youtube I don't think she wanted Jack -- she simply wanted some kind of inheritance which required that she marry someone and Jack needed to marry someone (for some reason or other) and they agreed to marry each other for mutual benefit.
Nothing makes sense. Even the foundations for the return of Eve and Theresa. They have a rich dad yet Eve can't scrape enough to send her daughter, gazzillionaire Shane's granddaughter, to Stanford. Theresa acts like she grew up in the projects and world traveling, having a walk in closet and expensive clothes is some big whoop that she has never done, had or known. Don't get it!
The baby story would have been so much better if Shane and Kimberly were involved in locating Brady and Theresa...Shane and Kimberly joining forces with Victor whom they loath would have been a great nod to their complicated history....I hope Theresa renames the baby after her dad or brother..Victor would hate that...lol...I just re-watched Kim , Shane and Victor in Miami a few weeks ago and I fell in love with Kim and Shayne all over again.Wow! it is too bad that Days can not do location shoots anymore..It was a great story....
This story has been so lackluster. Brady, Kristin and Melanie might as well have been arguing over a pair of toenail clippers for all the emotional pull and dramatic tension I felt, which was none at all. I am hoping things get more interesting once Theresa shows up but I highly doubt it.
Melanie's body language and mannerisms have been killing me the last few episodes too. She ramped all the tics I hate up to 100.

I have such a thing about fit and men's suits. Nothing like a well tailored suit on a fit man so Xander's has been driving me crazy. It looks like he is wearing his dad's suit jackets. They just don't sit well on him and they look long in the sleeve. It seemed extra apparent when he was wearing the light gray jacket the other day in his scene with Naggie, Eric and Dr. Jesus.
I loved the floral dress Eve was wearing.

My friend and I were texting, and when Kandi said she didn't bite her tongue with anybody he said "Except her mother."
Kandi also bites her tongue with her employees who dog out her husband right in front of her. Don frigging Juan compared Todd having sex to a chihuahua humping and Kandi stood right there and didn't say boo. I mean come the hell on!
I think Phaedra is looking for any excuse or reason not to take the kids to prison. But, if she feels that strongly about it, just say so and be done with it.
She can't, because she's staying married to Apollo. So, what reason does she give? None. And really, it's nobody's business why or why not she chooses what she does. I really do hope she leaves the show for her sons' sakes if nothing else. Let's see who's the more concerned parent.
I can't with all of Phaedra's excuses, first it was the thing about whether there were changing tables, now its the weather? Just say you aren't taking your kids to no damn prison and tell everyone else with an opinion about how to raise your kids to fuck all the way off, then fuck off some more, then a little bit more so that they are back to the place you told them to fuck originally off to and than they can fuck off from there again.
Color me surprised that she went from wanting to file for divorce before Apollo's ride to the prison was barely out of the driveway to now wanting to marinate on the decision. Not that she can't wait but it just seems very odd and it made me think that something more sinister was afoot. Is Apollo threatening her with something? Is she worried about spousal privilege - if they divorce maybe Apollo could testify about something. The whole 180 is just so jarring to me.
I got excited for a minute when Andy mentioned bringing back Sheree. Truth be told I would trade Porsha, Kenya and Claudia for Sheree. She brought the fun snark for the most part, sad air mattress and all. People will disagree with me but the show took an ugly turn when Kenya was added. And to think when she was originally announced to join I was worried that she was too 'classy' and not base enough for this show. Boy was I wrong.
For all the shit Phaedra (admittedly deserved) gets for marrying a man to have pretty babies with, Kenya has shown herself to be a bit of a color-struck fool as well. Kenya went into a fertility clinic on the show and stated a preference for spunk from a green eyed man. No shade either. I am down for black women opening up their dating pool to include more than just black men, just don't play yourself during the process.
Why has no one ever brought up the "teeth and eyes" comment that Claudia made?She will coast by for it. Meanwhile her bestie quotes civil rights heroes to shame someone into an apology to her and Claudia uses the same nasty rhetoric and imagery used by racist segregationist as to why black people were subhuman and not worthy of equal rights. Nice.

I still don't understand why Porsha won't say she's sorry for assaulting Kenya on national TV. I just don't understand how her mind works. I'd be saying I'm sorry, sorry, and will never do it again. Unless she just doesn't care what people and prospective employers in the industry may think of her.
Maybe she's looking for a career in the WWF......
Well, if Porsha still has a case pending for assault she could have been cautioned by legal counsel that apologizing might be seen as an admission of guilt and I also wouldn't put it past Kenya to take that apology and try to sue her either.
Porsha looked like a drag queen, a bad one eliminated during the first round of Rupaul's Drag Race.
I actually like Nene's white pant suit the best, although it could have been a touch less boobtastic.
Kandi had the best makeup.
Claudia & Kandi tie for best hair, although Kandi's weave was a bit too long for my taste.
Nene is terrible but I also really dislike team petty. I don't like either Claudia or Kenya.
Nene is absolutely right about one thing - the thirst is real!
Eyes damn near rolled out of my head when Kenya tried to go all civil rights and use Porsha's relative against her as if any of these chicks embody anything having to do with the movement. I thought both Porsha and Phae got her ass together on that one!!!

Yeah... Luanne brought up the psychic reading done in Morocco just last night. They showed the flashback and everything.
I think a lot of this is production driven payback for Ramona being withholding and pretending everything was honky dory last season and at the reunion especially.
It's 99% likely, IMO, that Skinny Girl would have exist as a brand, and certainly wouldn't have been bought out by Jim Beam (!), if not for Bravo. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's a shame that she's too full of negativity to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

I found the entire bar scene skeevy. There's nothing wrong with dating a younger man (or woman), but there's just something so desperate about Sonja (and sometimes with Carol and Luann) that it takes away from their attractiveness at times. IDK.
Carol I just think is an awkward flirter and cringey to watch try hard who thinks you think that she is too cool for school, when really no, I don't. Luann is cool as fuck about hers. The only one that I find has an air of desperation is Sonja. She has absolutely no chill when it comes to men. Hell, I am all about being empowered and not waiting for a man to come to you. But she starts bouncing around like she has ants in her pants and she practically pees on the guy to mark her territory. Everything about her screams DTF, please!! Tell me I am desirable. I need a W in the win column. She doesn't exude confidence. Bravado she's got, but not true confidence. Like a Luann.

Carole is just so ugh.... she doesn't do anything outright but she really zings and chips at other women's self esteem in her talking heads. Last week it was that whole Ramona couldn't steal any of my dresses because she couldn't fit in them. This week she had two that made me want to grab her by her overbite and swing her around the room. First, in her TH about Sonja and her German model she said that young, old, gay, str8 Sonja wasn't discerning with men. So you are Carole? Did you vet that young chef at Luann's before you started flirting with him? Or was that all because he was young, cute and hot? Nothing wrong with that but don't shade others for the same shit you did. Sonja has her issues but she has eyes and loins just like you and went after what she wanted, just like you did. So shut it!
Second, she complinsulted Ramona by saying that she had game even though she hasn't dated since the Berlin Wall came down. Oh and than going on to say that really it isn't hard to pick up men because of the after midnight rule, when you can pretty much get anyone's number. Nice. Didn't see any lines around Carole. It is just those little things that just made me never warm up and never like Carole.
Down for the real estate porn and will be interested to see Beth's apartment when it is done. Love white kitchens and baths, especially, white marble. Just hope it isn't as devoid of warmth and personality as her last apartment with Hoppy.
Words spill forth from Beth's mouth like bullets from a machine gun. I really haven't missed that about her and if possible she is even more acerbic than before. Not a good look.
The state of Avery and Mario's relationship really does sadden.

She tried to unsuccessfully save it by saying it was the shirt he was wearing. Dude was wearing a crisp white shirt with a nice striped colored tie. What about that screams coat check? Is that the traditional garb of coat checkers? And there was all kinds of neck craning and hand waving to get his attention too. Seriously wondered if someone who looked like that German model or even Luann's son had been wearing the same thing if she would have mistaken him for staff. She lost some cool points with me this evening.

Well look at the examples of womanhood she grew up with; she is turning into a carbon copy of Kim.There are people on You-tube who are trying the sucking-into-a-shot-glass-for-10mins ,supposedly method, of how they inflate their lips.
I see there is some type of Kylie lip challenge thing going on. I can't be bothered to give these people any hits. Can anyone tell me if this is in order to emulate Kylie because they admire her so much or are they just making fun of her?
Probably doesn't matter either way to the Kardashians. I really can't believe these people haven't and don't appear to be going away. They have only strengthened their power base and expanded into more areas gaining legitimacy, especially Kim and it is making me sick!

Okay did I hear right? Did Kandi say that Joyce had been living down the block for weeks but yet her daughter Riley had never even been to her grandmom's new house until that very night? Doesn't that seem odd if true? I always got the impression that Joyce and Riley were incredibly close given that Riley was her only grandbaby by her only daughter Kandi.
Joyce trying to pass off that meal as being cooked by her own two cloven hooves while her sisters side-eyed her was pretty damn hilarious.
The general vicinity of Peter's new business locations seemed a bit busted and iffy, but perhaps that is par for the course. I remember the same thing being said of Bar One's original locale. When they were walking around a noticed a bridge in the distance and pondered that if Cynthia kept being so damn passive about Peter spending her money, she would be living under it with nothing but that picture of her in the afro wig to show for her life.
I would rather Phaedra just flat out say she isn't taking her kids to see Apollo or just say she is freaking undecided than hem and haw with these whack ass excuses. Isn't she a criminal lawyer? It just kinda sounds stupid coming out of her mouth wondering if they had changing tables.The answers to her questions are at her damn fingertips, so just stop. It is not something that is hard to find out. I don't blame her for her feelings and would feel the same way. I don't think she needs to justify her hesitancy. Her kids needs and mental health trump Apollo's. He made his decisions and look where it landed him.

I can never hate Nicole but damnit she is on probation with me. Firstly, Dan was on the way to putting on some clothes and she stopped him telling him not to bother because this wouldn't only take a moment. So my eyeballs were assaulted for half episode by the sight of his sinewy torso. Secondly, we have her again profusely apologizing for every damn thing. She apologized again for having freaking coffee with Xander for goodness sake. She was even apologetic when she got a call to report to work. This is just gonna to be the pattern of their relationship.
Did I hear right? Did they say I love you to each other?
One good thing - it was a blessing to be spared a Dicole love scene.
Woah! That hotel room scene between Xander and Serena was as ugly as the one between Clyde and Grimace.
Why I am not surprirsed that Daniel is now becoming interwined in the diamond/elephant story? Eric is becoming a footnote or should that be elephant footprint in his own storyline. Jonas is gonna solve the case.
Jen continues to be a complete creepster about JJ's sex life. Did she want to be in the room to direct the action? Join? I am not even sure at this point. Whichever it is just incredibly unhealhy.
Doesn't Lucas have a place? Why don't Adrienne and him have sex there rather than under her father-in-law and his employer's roof? How foolish can they both be. Especially Lucas for trusting his mom.
Eve's freakout and slow fall to the floor against the wall was everything. More than a little part of that was probably fueled by jealousy.
JJ is indeed learning at the foot of the master Daniel Jonas - bagging mom and daughter. Wonder what his letter to Penthouse forum will be titled.

I just flat out don't care whether Brady and Theresa get their baby. I don't even think they should have one in the first place.
I'm not gonna say I don't like Theresa, but she has just worn thin with me. Oh hell, I think I change my vote, I am at the point that I like her portrayer and think she does a great job with the crap given but I just don't care for the character right now. I just don't understand being gleefully nasty to people and then being surprised that no one likes you and going off to cry about. Own that shit. Go toast to that shit with Kate. I just don't know why the writers have done what they did with her character. Why give her a baby? With Brady of all people Why? What was and is the point? Is she supposed to have some sort of ephipany upon seeing it? Is Brady going to propose marriage so as to raise it in a 2 parent home (barf)? Is Brady gonna cut Theresa completely out of the child's life? Are they gonna genuinely fall in love? Will they both just grow up and decide to co-parent? Will John/Marlena or Victor/Maggie decide they are both incompetent dumb ass crack head asses and seek custody? With the exception of the last option, it all sounds equally horrible. So yeah the story is one big fail and I don't care.
You know Hope, Kayla & Caroline (both of whom we never really see) and even Marlena to some extent are the women that make this show tolerable, otherwise every woman is pretty much kinda terrible. At one point, I would have said Kate was cool but being with that hillbilly has lowered her value considerably.

The way the elephant/diamond SL has played out, Serena now looks as dumb as Brady.
I have no interest in watching Theresa and Nicole snarl at each other. If either one of them wants to smack Daniel over the head with a shovel, I'm on board for that.
I'd settle for fireplace poker. That got as redundant as elephant but oddly I never got sick of it. I wonder why?
And sadly, I can see that Dan will end up rescuing Nicole from Xander. So much for the brief spark of hope I had that the writers were going to actually give Nicole/Xander a real shot.
Sadly, based on this being the Daniel Jonas hour and the hint of Xander's ugly tendencies yesterday, I can see this being the case. This gives me the sads. Seems like Nicole deserves no better than to be in an emotionally abusive relationship with Daniel. She'll probably have his miracle tan baby.
You know all this begs the question, where the hell is the Daniel Jonas fan club? I wasn't a huge James Scott or Ejami fan, especially towards the end, but damnit even I was loathe to admit that they had a large, organized and mobilized fanbase. Same could be said for Sami, Lucas, Marlena, Lumi fans, Jarlena, etc., I have yet to see a large collection of Shawn Christian fans or fans any of his pairings. So is he just leading man by default? Am I just frequenting the wrong boards? Or should I say the right boards? LOL! I have never seen or been on any board that loved or was interested in any storyline about Daniel or his love life. What am I missing?
Also, does he ever take a vacation? I swear he is on at least 3-4 times a week without fail, every week.

"In the company of men" was beaten to death because that's what Bethenny does to her relationships with men. I would say to Bethenny that she doesn't "get it" but her verbal splatter is scary and I avoid beastly arguments with shrews like her.
I really don't know where Bethanny was going with that one. It seemed odd coming from someone who proudly proclaimed to have put the cock in cocktails to beat the shit out of such an old fashioned statement. Where once Beth was the one who flew over the cuckoo's nest, the sane Jack Nicholson character surrounded by insanity, after witnessing her level of crazy on her own spinoff, she will never be that to me anymore. She had been picking imaginary bugs off her skin the whole time during her original run on the show, it is just that I was too blinded by the ape shit slinging crazy of Kelly, Ramona's 7 shades of Sybil and Buffalo Jill - she'll skin and wear you if you don't pay proper homage for me to see it.
As I understand it, Jim Beam bought the Skinnygirl liquor end of the business, but Skinnygirl the brand has a number of other products and entities that Bethenny manages. Plus, I think I remember reading that she's still involved with the liquor brand, at least in a nominal way, and gets royalties based on future sales, so she's still invested in a financial way.
That is the way I understand it too. Bethanny runs and owns the rest of the brand including the non-alcoholic drinks. Just to let you all know she done went down to the trademark office and got rights to market that shit for everything. EVERYTHING!!! I'm talking potholders, paninis, yoga pants, hummus,dutch ovens, soda and carbonated beverage making machines (which explains soda stream). Its smart. I saw Skinnygirl popcorn at Walmart about 2 weeks ago.
Some of the trademarks are dead and abandoned though. Like Skinnygirl luggage. So some of you that were looking forward to strolling through the airport with your skinnygirl rollbag or carry-on are just gonna have to be disappointed. LOL!
Surprisingly, I noticed that even the Skinnygirl girls and women clothing line trademarks is dead and abandoned. Strange.
